@@animalmgsavage9346 Yeah... like... 14 goals so far and we aren't even at the half of the season, first the world was broken by some Argentinian midget, now this massive Viking comes out of nowhere after raiding the Bundesligue and now he is going to turn the Prem upside down.
They said an old zlatan couldnt do it (so he did it), ronaldo came back at 36 and ended the year as the third highest scorer at 37 years old. Lewandowski was "only" scoring cuz he played in the bundesliga, now hes doing it in spain and its "oh but it aint the premier league". Not sure why fans of the premier league have this superiority complex and think most players must prove themselves there or else they really aint all that.... It was beyond foolish to think haaland wasnt going to keep scoring in england.
Haaland's biggest strengths imo are his spatial awareness, positioning (never seen the guy offside) and vision. He is always looking around for chances and when he gets he pounces on them like a beast. A generational player.
He’s only been offside twice this season in 8 games. Which is crazy because he plays “on the shoulder” so to speak. He’s always in prime position to be offside but he never is, shows how smart he is
Don't forget the fact that he actually hits the goal 8 or 9 out of 10 times, and not just the goal but outside of the reach of the keeper...! It's not easy and most players will often miss the goal totally when a hard cross comes in and you have to time how and when you hit the ball, he is unbelievable good at this, of course the other things you said so the combination leads to extreme results. The people that brush it off with "just tap-ins" have no clue.
check out Haaland's assist to Phil for his 3rd goal. Erling slipped on the pass and got right back up in case there was a defect. He wants to score every time down the pitch... but he enjoys his teammates goals as much as his own
There is one action where a United player clattered him and instead of rolling on the floor , he got up and ran towards the opposition goal. This goal gives me young Ronaldo r9 determination vibes. A player you have to break his legs in order to completely stop him.
One of the Norwegian downhill giants was shown to have extrem periferal vision at high speeds (you know, when you normally get tunnel seeing). Maybe there is something in the water there, or in the gene pool?
@@ingmarkronfeldt6174 I am sure this ability can be trained so he must be extremely good at it. You can see that by watching him when someone has the ball and he anticipate what happens next and move into that space before anyone even think about it.
meh. I don't forget the dive without being touched at all at 99' in a fucking CHARITY FRIENDLY MATCH against Barça that allowed City to draw, counting on the absence of VAR during friendlies. How bad does your fair play have to be to fake a dive last minute to not lose a friendly match? bad sportsmanship
@@TheSpartanS196 Take a look at the reactions all around, both directly after the play and after the match. Not one of the players cared. There were half hearted arguments from the Barca players for a second, but they got on with it. Pep and Xavi embraced after the match, all smiles. It's a charity match, the result doesn't matter. They didn't care, and neither should you. Lighten the fuck up.
@@lafoonxiii5311 that's not the point. Of course it doesn't matter. That's exactly why diving last minute is embarrassing. It would be actually more understandable if it was a champions league final, at least you have a reason to do so (even though, in a Champions league final, VAR would be there to nullify it).
I am a united fan and I continued to watched the whole game after my dad had walked away after 3-0 just to see haaland score and play more. He is undeniably going to be the best player in the world.
Same, I am a united fan but just watching him and seeing him succeed in that way is amazing. United is anyway miles off City even without Haaland so not really a shock to see them lose as we are used to it now. Times will change though so we are waiting patiently.
The things i love about haaland is his humble and team player. He always tried to be at the right position at the right moment but when he didn’t at the right position he always looked for creating the chances or make assist. He always talk about teammates after the match.
@@Joshflemin why would he? he's there to finish chances, not create them. Yet he still has 3 assists in 8 premier league games, which puts him joint 4th in the league.
So I'm from Germany, but not a BVB nor FCB fan (my favourite team plays 3rd League yay). And I did predicted that Haaland would break the Premier League. Everybody watching him week in, week out (meaning basically every German football fan) knew that he is a generational talent and has his feet firmly on the ground. He's there to *play football* The only reason the numbers @BVB are lower than at City is that the facilitating is significantly worse in Dortmund (it's less of Dortmund being bad and more of City being *that good* ). If he would have been a Bayern player he easily would has reached such numbers (if not higher). Haaland matches perfectly with City. They play to create chances in the box. He is an absolute clinical monster in the box. Can score with every part of his body. My father regularly compared him to Gerd Müller (who is colloquially known as "The guy who can score with his butt") in his drive towards the goal. Absolute madlad.
Agreed, absolutely crazy. One thing I would add I'd say it's more that Haaland is amazing and City are amazing more than Haaland fitting City. Haaland is fast, clinical and direct. He often has very few touches, running into position and finishing. City fits Haaland because they are a chance creating machine, but City want a fluid quick front line playing 50 passes as they build up to a goal. Haaland doesn't necessarily fit City, Haaland is just that good at scoring goals that you have to sign him if you can
@@joshdunne8792 I'm not so sure. Pep tried to bring in Zlatan to Barca (this failed), then he had Lewandowski at Bayern (which worked pretty decent) and now he has Haaland at City. Haaland is good but he can't do everything. But put him into a team which can do pretty much everything he can't and his strengths will shine
Well that’s actually his record in a calendar year and in all competitions, but it’s still completely insane though (just saying it’s an unfair comparison). Messi’s highest scoring goals in the league was 50 in 2012, which was 15 less than Haaland’s projected goals at the time if he had continued in his reign of terror; once again, not trying to take away from Messi, he’s the goat in my opinion, I’m just saying it’s a bad comparison lol
Haaland has been created in a lab. His father created and cultured him to be the greatest goal scorer in the history of the game. He has made very smart career moves, choosing to play for City instead of Madrid/ Barca to develop his game, and playing for Pep ( who his known for developing players i.e Messi, Sane, Sterling, Thiago) instead of joining Man u or Chelsea who ruin strikers. Forza Haaland
@@Joshflemin His dribbling is way above average when compared to other players of similar height. As for the tap-ins...it's his own merit for the fact that he's able to read and receive passes better than 99.9% of strikers. Scoring tap-ins is not about shooting technique or fine skills, but about the intelligence of reading the game and being there at the right time.
It's so insane city scored the most goals last season without a striker. And with haaland , i am scared what the numbers will be at the end of the season . Dark times ahead
i've been telling people all along. ever since he was at salzburg and i saw him score against liverpool i thought "how lucky. he was in the perfect position to score." but then he kept doing it over and over again. his knowledge of positioning and movement is SPECIAL. i've never seen anything like this player before. not only that he's tall strong fast skilled it feels unfair for everyone else almost.
He is like Usain bolt. At first runner coach didn't like Usain because he is tall they think because he is big tend to slow. But once he is tall and fast nothing can stop him
@@samnathan2709 thing is that's what we thought before and now in city he is becoming even better, he is assisting getting involved with playmaking things he didn't do before.
People always fall for this logic. Most players don't get better with time. Look at Hazard look at Griezmann. You should just enjoy incredible form right now and not expect getting better and better all the time, not everyone is Messi or Ronaldo.
I'm not saying this because I am a fan of Erling Haaland, but your video is one of the best I've seen out of all the ones I've watched thus far. Your presentation, pronunciation, delivery, storyline, whatever it's called, this looked very polished, effortless and entertaining. I couldn't just leave without saying that and subscribing. Looking forward to your other videos. Well done!
Haaland has that thing a lot of modern sports fans wanna see in star players in any sport....killer instinct...or Mamba mentality if you will. That mental thought to not care how early or how late a game is, no matter the score, you're still pushing 200% with effort. I remember when a viewer on my twitch stream asked me, Haaland or Mbappe and I told him Haaland. Because he has that ability to finish and do video game like shit. He could do it in any league, any country. And with his size...its hard to stop him from doing whatever he wants in an attacking position.
He reminds me of when I played FIFA's Player career mode on amateur as a ST and scored like 4-5 goals every game. I had no idea that this can actually be done in real life...
@@Joshflemin but mans is doing it at younger age. Look at Kane this season and he's honestly been in blistering form with 7 goals in 8 games. He's on track for a 30+ goal season and possibly equal or break the record. However Haaland has double that tally and is an "unfamiliar league and system" under a manager whose players are known to need a season to settle in. Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi ruined football in all honesty and this guy's current form looks on track to put those mythical numbers to shame. Utterly ridiculous and in all honesty I don't know why they haven't banned him yet
@@MrVinjex Messi became the Goat at just age 23, he had already won 3 ballondors and also scored tons of goals and assists 🤯. Haaland is an exceptional player but the only way you can compare him to young Messi is Champions league.
TBH KDB's crosses aren't that inaccurate anymore if you check, haaland's goals are him usually him mimicking the bundesliga's logo..... on the ground too. But man has put all of his haters quiet by passing every test especially against Dortmund and Man UTD. He finally got his revenge against Man UTD. Can't wait to see him against liverpool.
His movement inside the box is incredible. When shots come in, other attackers and defenders are static but Haaland is continually moving. He and city are also a great match as they have such creative players and he offers the perfect outlet.
He is going to do to the EPL what Messi and Ronaldo did to La Liga for the next 10 years. As a United fan all I can do is applaud the guy/ I can't cry anymore about my own club, done it for the last 10 years. Just hold ya hands up and say fair play this kid is gonna dominate for the next decade. Guys a beast.
I remember commenting on Rory Jennings video when he said he won't meet expectations, would be lucky to score 15. My point was that he has no weaknesses. He's fast, tall, powerful and an excellent finisher. And those are his least terrifying attributes. The most scary bit about Haaland is his desire, belief and effort. You can see it on his face. He's oozing quality and he's disappointed that he's not better. He's not satisfied with being the best, he wants to be better than he is. In most cases, an attacking player comes to the epl and has to learn to be successful against the great teams/defenders in this league. In this case, the rest of the league is discovering that they can't do anything to contain him. As an Arsenal fan, I hope that we can choke out the supply. I think that's the only way to limit his goal threat. I'm not hopeful, though.
I watched that and spit out my drink. There's "hot takes" and just absurdly ignorant ones. Haaland is a phenom and when you have a club like Manchester City he just feeds off that service. He is going to terrorize the English league for years to come.
Watch Tifo irl’s analysis of Jack Grealish if you haven’t. It’s really good and does exactly that, comparing his role at Villa to his role at City, and the underlying stats. Worth a watch :O
@@koffeebeanzTrue, they're not perfect and their top 6 and English bias can be a little annoying at times. But their tactical analysis on individual players is great!
Kind of remarkable that he could probably leave the premiership right now and still be in the goat convo. As a united fan, i'm ashamed to admit i have secretly wished someone would Roy Keane him before the derby, but as a football fan i can't wait to see all the amazing things he does (to other teams). another top shelf offering m8.
I just moved to Norway from America and have been getting into premier league and football in general for the first time. (Basketball has always been my sport) My wife who is Norwegian has been a Man United fan her whole life and we even go out to a United pub every game to watch. It was honestly so interesting watching that United vs City game in a pub full of Norwegians who are die hard United fans but also have so much national pride in Haaland. I am so happy that I moved here when I did and to have an even greater reason to get into football.
lol yeah hes a beast. I loved his rivalry with Lewandowski in the Bundesliga. Haaland and Lewy are showing their skills in their new leagues! Bundesliga quality
I saw another very informative video about Haaland, his biggest strength seems to be his "scanning" of the other players, especially the defenders. He is looking and analysing his surroundings twice as much as the second best player in this category. That is the reason he ALWAYS knows, where to stand, when to sprint etc. You have very good and valid points too... Greetings from Germany, even though i am not an Dortmund-Fan i miss him in the Bundesliga
He is a monster. In one game, the defender took him down, midfield, the next thing he is already up, running towards the goal post. Guess what, he scored.
Ok but damn can I just say what an incredible time it has been just seeing your journey, man! I remember when I just discovered your channel like close to two years ago now and you were just at like what 5k 8k? Now you’ve got 178 thousand people waiting for your next upload each day! Congrats my guy!
A point a lot of people seem to miss is that he genuinely loves the club he plays for, he was a supporter of the team, his father was a city player and everything is merging into a perfect point for him. He's an outstanding player with the best structure and coach around him coupled by the passion of a boy playing for his club.
For some reason that moment really stuck out to me. A shame I couldn't find a still image of it. From memory, he sprinted like half the box for an essentially dead ball!
You covered a lot of detail here, the stats are stunning! As a City supporter since 1966, I think we deserve this moment as recompense for all the heartbreak over our history! It's been an up-and-down life, but now, we are on the up-and-up! Let us enjoy it while we can! I think they will be needing to make many golden boots!
I really like these types of videos, there’s still so munch to see of different teams and leagues this season however highlighting certain outstanding players it gives me hopes up there’s still a generation to come full of Ronaldos, Messis.
Back when Solskjær had just gotten the manager job at ManU, every single sports headline in Norway was all about him. His name was more commonly in the media than the prime minister was for six months. Norwegians like it when we have someone doing well in sports. Unsurprisingly, that same thing is happening with Haaland now. He's just everywhere in the Norwegian media now. And since he's more likely to keep his job and win trophies than Ole (RIP ;( ) it's probably gonna stay that way for a while.
Haaland has been big in the Norwegian media for quite some time. Remember last half year of 2019 when he had his International break through with Salzburg. That half year was on par with Solskjaer and Odegaard in terms of media coverage. Though you can argue he is even bigger now.
@@agoodchow Release clause in his contract, former agent Mino Raiola set it there because both player and agent agreed that dortmund wouldn't be his final club, and he'd want to move to a bigger one. The release clause came into effect earlier this year and was activated by City, and the fact that his dad played for city in the past made him want to move there.
Erling is a great player a true professional and a guy who really enjoys what he does and he uses all his attributes to do what he enjoys doing ..Scoring goals. Now before we get carried away don't let's forget Erling is in probably one of the best Teams in the World and there are 10 team mates who can give him the service/assists he asks for yes I even include the GoalKeeper. Erling himself wrote the other day it was a strikers dream to have KDB providing him with service. Now probably alot of you out there have heard the name but never saw George Best, I witnessed George Best pick up a ball in his own Penalty area and after battling through inches of mud he put the ball in the opposition Net he was an absolute genius.. Compared to Erling George had nothing like the dedication we see from Erling. Erling is NO Freak he is a dedicated sportsman who is playing in a great Football Team and it is great having him in the PL. However defenders will get used to this fabulous footballer and make things a little more difficult for him..What a great game football is!!!
I’ve been adamant that this guy would be a goal scoring machine when a lot was saying he will flop. To be honest, I felt that he would score goals, but not at this rate. And damn oh damn, he is a freak of nature.
I knew as soon as news broke City signed him that defenders were gonna wake up in a cold sweat seeing KDB and Haaland in their nightmares He is completely unstoppable and will destroy this league
As a City fan, I wanna say unfortunately, Haaland will probably only stay with us for 5 seasons max. I really wish he would stay longer, but it seems his wishes are to play in all major leagues around Europe. Let's enjoy him while he's here.
Agree I think he's being strategic using Man U is a stepping stone I don't see him staying there either he's trying to establish himself until he gets to the team he really wants 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 his dad is training him well
Just be grateful we all still breathing and live to see Halland era of football. We gonna tell our kids and our grandkids how fortunate to live in his era. Halland is legend. Even he don't know it yet
Not about Haaland but i actually was privileged enough to see Messi at the camp nou in October 2019 against Real Valladolid . Best player I have seen irl in my life. This was a 32 year old Messi mind you . Basically at the end of his peak, still had 25+ goals and 20+assists that season . I said this comment was not about haaland, but him and Mbappe, im not sure about them reaching the overall performance of a Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Remember, Messi and cr7 had alot of assists and a better overall game at the ages of Haaland and Mbappe is now. Haaland and Mbappe as better Goalscorers and strikers?, probably, but cr7 and Messi at their best was just on another level imo. Like i have said. I have followed Messi basically since 2011/12 . My first kit was a messi one. I cant ever imagine someone getting as good at football as Messi, in my lifetime at least. dude is just different. I remember leaving the camp nou in October 2019 after the match, having a feeling that im never gonna see this footballing greatness again in my lifetime. Messi is on level with all the greats like Maradona, etc. But for our Generation, Messi will probably remain the best footballer. Think about it, soon to be 800+ goals and 300+ assists. And the stats are not even half of the story. The eye test, Messis winning mentality and work ethics is really not spoken in the same way as cr7 considering everyone thinks cr7 id hard work and Messi is only talent . which is not true. Messi is a competitor at the highest level just like a Jordan, gretzky, Kobe , LeBron type of athlete.😀🇦🇷⚽🔟
Absolutely loved the video. As a Man Utd fan, I agree with every sentiment he had regarding exporting Haaland out LOL. As an editor, on point editing, perfect music, great clip (for the most part). Great job.
You missed a great chance to roast Rory Jennings for saying that Haaland would be a flop and that he would do well if he ended the season with 15 goals.
Haaland is an absolute blast to watch! Some of my American colleagues, who never seriously watched futbol before, are now starting to tune in just to see Haaland pull off his incredible feats of athletism (amongst his many other abilities). Hopefully this will give the first taste of the beautiful game to a new audience. Conventional wisdom would say that his knees and ankles must be under tremendous stress from his weight and power. So far he simply defies what seems possible. Hopefully the same applies to his joints, an issue that cuts short so many great careers.
First video I see of you. Comprehensive, entertaining, informative, witty, well presented. I can see the hard work behind it, even though the presentation looks effortless. You, sir, are a star.
Haaland is a throwback to how strikers used to play. Doesn't fall over his own feet and miss sitters when presented with a goalscoring opportunity. Strikers often came close to 30 goals a season decade ago. Since then, tactics and formations have changed-for the worse.
The algorithm really helping you out here bud! City fan watching a united fan levelled and mature take on for Nordic meat shield! I thoroughly enjoyed it so I have subscribed. Keep it up!
His undisciplined fun and chill character somehow makes him a beast striker. He tries some weird stuff just to try sometimes. But that character makes him extra finisher with no pressure.
I’m happy for halaand but it’s only his first year and we’ve seen lots of players have a great first year. If he can do this consistently for at least 2-3 years then he deserves all the praise.
I was watching this video, And something just made it feel homely, Then I realised, You are speaking with a South African accent. Now I see your channel and content and think. Wow, South Africa has talent and your production is on par with RU-vid stars. So I'm so proud to see a local have such a successful channel! Welldone. But also, yeah when Haaland came to man city, I knew him from bvb and from his insane international scoring. You know he holds the record for the most goals scored in 1 game, I believe it's 9 individual goals in an international game. I knew the premier league wasn't ready for a player like him. I do believe though managers are strat'n on how to counter him as we speak. So let's' see later on if he can keep this going. His a huge dude with some insane accuracy with his shots. Also his size, you'll notice in games, he throws his body in the way for the ball to bounce off him into the goal. Mainly by throwing those long legs out.
Its time that people from other countries stop saying that germany has a bad league. The fact that Bayern Munich basically destroyed almost every english team with a huge goal difference during the last ~10 years in the CL and now Haaland moving to City, completely destroying the league, while Lewandowski was moving to spain, completely destroying the league there, speaks volumes about the german league. I have no doubt that Lewandowski will end up with >30 goals this season in the league and Haaland with >40, if both dont get any injuries. Lewandowski is probably the best striker of the last decade, but Haaland is on track to become the best striker of all time, he averages basically 1 goal each game since years, if you exclude the norwegian league he was playing in.
He reminds me of the original Ronaldo when he blew away the seasoned defenders of Serie A after ripping up the Eredivisie and Primera Liga. Only serious injury stopped Ronny being mentioned in the same breath as Maradona, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
@@tommyjames3105 but Madrid was his first choice over City and Bayern Perez wanted him to stay in Dortmund another year until Benzemas contract run out in 2023 but Haaland wanted the Move this summer so he choose City but with a Release clause that kicks in after Season 3 so he can move to Madrid
