it's just non stop double kick , Mario ...that endurance tho ...and the voice of Joe in 2009 was the best ever , he was in his prime just 33 years old or something ...his voice was ( still is ) incredible
5:12 that melodic breakdown is one of my favorite things Gojira has done, so haunting yet uplifting. Also please for the love of god listen to Reptile by periphery :)
This is probably one of the most exhausting song to play live for a drummer. 6 minutes of almost CONSTANT sextuplets double bass at 174bpm. It's brave to perform this live, even for Mario haha!
Gojira - ‘Love’ live at Rio or ‘Ocean Planet’ live at Rio. Epic high quality recording. Absolute epic performances. Ocean Planet has a section that really reminds me of Metallica. And the screams at the end are the best i’ve heard him do. Shivers all along
Appreciate you guys. I'm hooked on obscure old Gojira vids and you're 100% the only people still doing reactions of them. It truly is next level and you guys seem to immediately appreciate if and gravitate towards the wild and unique styles of Gojira. (I spotted his classic "space vacuum" sound he does in the Link Alive album in the intro, love it!). These lyrics are actually absurdly deep. Also, as well all know, long live Mario and the Duplantier Brothers. God's among men, the entire group.
I wish these didn’t have to be “obscure”, they’re literally gojira at their best! Don’t get me wrong I love all gojira from Godzilla days to whatever this next album will be (I already know I’ll love it lol), but this is undoubtedly their prime imo
They’ve said that Morbid Angel is a huge influence on them as growing up and in their music. Mario got legs of fucking steel!! Idk how he does it 😮💨😮💨

Yes! I haven't seen ALL the bands, but I've seen most of the big ones and Gojira is my easy choice for best live. They are so tight with so much energy. Unmatched🙌🧝🤘
Funny you mention Dominion from Pantera! I always thought domination had the best outro in metal history, until I saw Gojira!!! The live performances of “Pray” and “Where Dragons Dwell”, + “From The Sky” are amongst the greatest
I always enjoy your gojira reactions! I think you guys would enjoy Gojira - Only Pain live at Pol'and'rock 2018 But you'd have to play the whole concert because the intro of the concert is shifting to Only Pain (its the first song).
