Did that during this show in Charleston. During “Another World”. Finally somebody sees it the way I do. How can we possibly make or find a better world when we can’t maintain the one we had handed to us by physics and with an incomprehensible formula where a coupe of degrees either way or the wrong atmospheric makeup or the soil or the food or whatever and we still want to try to IMPROVE? Good luck. Just because your room is a mess doesn’t mean you’ll just find a cleaner one and expect it to last any longer than the last one. Foolish. And to hear a guy I see as highly intelligent talking about colonizing Mars. I hope he’s just saying that kind of thing to build the tourist aspect of Mars trips, not living there. All the movies and all the scientists and all the visionaries ever or ever will be cannot replicate the formula for humankind to thrive elsewhere. To think as such is the greatest fools errand ever. Not being cheesy. Not a hippie. Not alarmist. Not a bad attitude. We CAN fix this if WE just see reality, as opposed to dismissing it. It doesn’t just go away. Maybe I should tell myself that more.
This is absolutely brilliant. I can only imagine the wall of sound being in a huge crowd and Joe orchestrating. Perhaps they can draw from Bruce Dickinson's early performances breaking the crowds into left and right sections when it comes to different singing parts.
When I first watched the video for this song on RU-vid, I cried. It's absolutely beautiful that Gojira stands up to China like this. You can bet that they'll never play in China now.
We were at the salt lake concert this year, and they finished off with this song. Such an incredible experience hearing the crowd sing this wonderful song
Second time ever seeing Gojira, first after they became my favorite band, first time being in a moshpit; best concert of my life and I'm sure it will hold that title forever
@@ols1483 He's playing a lead on both track that you quote. Its the same lead on each live show. In The Chant, he's playing an improvisation. Can you grab the difference?
You know you are listening to a favorite when one of the songs they have that you like the least is still absolutely badass. Seeing them in Fort Wayne tonight and can't fucking wait
God I'd kill to see them live with Fortitude tracks on their set list. I couldn't get off work when they played Louder than Life here in Louisville and I was heartbroken. I'm glad I got to see them last time they played the festival though. Thanks so much for the upload!
Didn't see them in Asheville but seen them at Louder than Life (traveled out from Sylva area to Kentucky) this past year and they fucking tore the place up! Wished they would've been on the side I was at but still man....great band to see live.
some of the newest flagship phones these days are pretty good for recording concerts, gone are the days when you could hear absolutely nothing from phone recordings yet people still filmed stuff for some reason
Yeah it looks like they had the opening chant pre-recorded from before, just to get the song kicked off and save Joe the trouble. There's also two (or more) voices in the studio recording singing it in harmony, which would be impossible to do live unless one of the other bandmembers volunteered to sing it. Just easier this way.
Thankfully 99% of their fans disagree. They still have heavy songs on Fortitude as well. But this song was written for a purpose and that purpose was not to shatter eardrums. To each their own though.
yeah bro that wasn't the point of this song at all. I mean, Into The Storm, Born For One Thing, Sphinx, etc are heavy af in Fortitude. And this comes from someone whose favourite Gojira album is From Mars. Do I prefer their old stuff? Yeah. But does that make the new stuff bad? No. It's a natural evolution of their sound.
