Editor's Note: While going over this script with my friend we both kind of noticed that if you have a better understanding of calculus. Gojo can simply be actualizing a Limit instead of an Infinite Limit, since a Limit itself simply approaches a point and never actually reaches it, essentially forcing a function to cross an infinite amount of points to reach an output. In this case the opponent approaches Gojo but never reaches him. However both mathematical interpretations are equally valid and in a sense aren’t contradicted by each other. I only specifically define it as an infinite limit for the normies who don’t conceptually understand a limit, as a concept of a derivative might need to be explained. So for the real math nerds the definition can differ from a Limit or Infinite Limit depending on your interpretation of a fictional character.

More like he used simple limits and some simple number theory, like using a negative value in space for blue then multiplying the negative value by itself to gain a positive value which red, and is also how RCT is used.

Honestly ive never gotten whats so complicated about the limitless curse technique, its always seem pretty understandable neutral limitless is like the number between 0 and 1 if jogo is zero and gojo is one the limtless just creates and infinite amount of numbers between zero and one 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 0.91, 0.92 etc making it so you never reach one no matter how fast you count youll never reach one blue like every curse technique is made of negative energy, and is the concept of creating negative space, negative space doesn't exist so the world ends up contracting to fill the negative space, its -1 red being the multiplication of blue, negative energy multiplied by negative energy gives you positive energy, so red creates mass forcing the world to expand to make room for that mass, its +1 hollow purple is the combination of red and blue pulling and pushing, +1 -1 is equal to zero, so purple forces the idea of zero into the world erasing whatever it comes into contact with all in all the limitless is a mixture of narrative world play and pseudo science which mixes together quite well this video was great though trying to understand the limitless with only mathematics is a cool idea

i actually came across that explanation of blue when editing the video. and this new info kinda changes the mathematical explanation, although not completely. but yes i agree with you 100% gojo is not the most confusing this about jjk's world building.

Because it didn't cross the space, imagine it like instead of somebody tossing a bomb to you, they teleport the bomb into the same space as you. If anything (gojo) in that world(space-time co-ordinates) was there it would get slashed regardless. If gojo was in that same space as the slash, it would still cut him.

@@blizzard1198 That's what we all assumed when 236 came out, then we found out that the world slash *doesn't* spawn on top of you, and has to travel to you. Otherwise, it wouldn't make any sense for Kashimo and Maki to be able to dodge it. So the world slash is still, unfortunately, complete bullshit

@@vestrocity9561 Sukuna's strat was expand the target for dismantle onto space itself, Gojo manipulates space but Sukuna is cutting the space Gojo occupied. Meaning whether his attack traveled or no was irrelevant because he can no longer manipulate the space.

I wouldnt take Miguel's description of limitless at face value, since by that point of the story several important techniques werent fleshed out (namely, domain expansions) so its possible that limitless wasnt fully thought out.

It should be fine given Miguel's line is still implemented inside the JJK O movie, and at the time of its theater release JJK's power system was already fleshed out.

the reason why i think its fine to use the statement is that red, blue, and hollow purple arent do weak to the point where the statement is contradicted. also the implication is that suguru infromed miguel of the ability, while suguru can be wrong i doubt it considering how close he is with gojo

One interesting thing I noticed too Cursed Energy is negative, the reverse version of it is positive. In Physics, charges in electric fields have a specific way they are drawn. Negative charges seem to pull (which Blue does) while positive charges seem to push (Which Red does)

i was curious about the physics side of this. especially since im starting it now but u dont have a strong undrrstanding to say anything. physics does come in though as the imaginary number i is used in shrodingers wave formula, and its easy connect that back to satoru since he condenses and manipulates space with limitless.

I'm still reading the early culling games. although its interesting to note that the negative space in our reality doesn't necessarily mean deletion if we were to interact with them since it happens in nature all the time and we don't know why

just a slight correction. their red and blue's effects are inverse and cancelled out bubt it does not mean that red has pe itself. pe is used to create ctr but the black box that is part of a ct converts it back into negative energy whie retaining its inverted effects.

Here's my theory of Hollow purple: Hollow purple is made by combining blue and red. Blue is made up of negative energy which places the value of blue at -x. Red is made up of RCT which is positive energy which places the value of red at +x. If we combine these two values then we would get -x +x = 0. The value of hollow purple would be 0. In mathematics, 0 is a number which is considered as both an imaginary and real number. Since imaginary numbers are used to calculate imaginary mass adn real numbers are used to calculate virtual mass. This would mean that hollow purple is both an imaginary and virtual mass. Hence, inheriting both the properties of imaginary and virtual mass. This is just a hypothesis based on my observation so please correct me if i am wrong. I won't be sad if i got this wrong since i am in 9th grade and only know the basics of complex/imaginary numbers.

This is fair on a certain level. Zero being considered both types of numbers and passing both characteristics to hollow purple can be true. However it's only valid as long as you interpret the concept of zero to exist in both the real and imaginary plane and specifically correlating to each other. After all imaginary numbers exist on a different plane than real numbers, similar to the x and y coordinate plane.

@@saltkafe Since 0 has its own square root so many scientists and mathematicians suppose that zero is also a complex/imaginary number. Since imaginary number are generated by the square root of a negative number i.e √-4 = i2.

@@sabafaisal1834 yeah i agree that zero can be a real and imaginary number. what i was trying to say in my first response was that its hard to quantify that in a real world and mass perspective since we cant comprehend a negative space (at least not yet). purple can be the imaginary zero but it can also be any arbitrary imaginary number since they essentially both represent the idea of a negative space. It is interesting to think about though since the technique is called "hollow" purple. Implying that nothing is inside of it

@@saltkafe But do you still believe that Hollow purple has the value zero since we both made a hypothesis and our conclusion was that the value of Hollow purple is zero. Also hollow purple can be quantified as an existence/matter erasure since 0 is a number which when Multiplied by an integer reduces that integer to zero aka erases that number i.e 0 × 4 = 0 or -4577869 × 0 = 0. So by this means Hollow purple is also an existence/matter erasure.

I always thought it was based on magnetism with blue repelling he can give an object with the polarity to keep it from hitting him; and red attracting which will attract something with an opposite polarity and purple being blue and red coming together and effectively forming a black hole with its gravity. Of course calculus can be involved but didn’t think of a strict mathematically. Just note I’ve thought about this in the case Gege hired me to develop a character with similar abilities to Gojo without it being a copy paste of Gojo Edit: I messed up. Blue attracts and red repels

Gojo himself does think of it on a physics standpoint as well, especially when he talks about blue creating vectors in the hidden inventory arc. Although when he fights Jogo he discusses his ability as infinity which has much more of a standpoint in calculus. I also just am not confident in my physics knowledge to give it more of a thought

I'm taking Calc 2 rn, learning more about integration currently but my semester ends with learning about series. Which oddly enough is an explanation for Gojo so I might return to this topic if I think it's warranted.

This is true! on a practical real-world standpoint imaginary numbers happen way more frequently with waves and calcing hypothetical areas. Although in an academic setting imaginary numbers aren't used in calc, at least on the more fundamental levels since im still in early calc 2

@@saltkafe you'll be working a lot more with imaginary numbers in the coming years then, if you've learned about polar coordinates, those are learned in calc 2 to prepare you for using them in complex calculus! it's very fun, you'll love it!

im not completely caught up ok jjk although i do know about gojo vs sukuna. id have to learn more about the wold cut to make a conclusion, but im pretty sure some of the limit logic applies, although the explanation would need the use of derivatives which i havent explained in the video. if i catch up and it insterests me i might make a follow up video

Gojo's neutral infinity is an Infinite series of spaces formed from a a finite space . Blue is that Gojo creates a conditionally convergent series in space and as a consequence of the negative space/ distance, ( corresponding to a negative number in a conditionally convergent series) being impossible, the world corrects this by filling that space and attracting everything. Red is just divergent series . But god knows how purple works lol.

at around 6:36 in the video i mention a jump discontinuity. this is probably the teleportation ability, if we assume the x axis is in anologus to time and and y being specific points in space you can see that as the function jumps to another point gojo seemingly teleports to a different location in space.

oh i can explain that one. if gojo manipulates space on an atomic level ftl characters can actually bypass limitless. simply because atoms arent as fast as light. whether that means they move so fast the technique cant percieve them, or they just warp through it. This makes sense consistently too since to my knowledge jjk is commonly accepted to not be ftl
