I feel like the biggest tragedy of this anime is that it wasn't entirely focused on the tiny guy and his gynoid/motorcycle hybrid mount fighting crime in the techno-noir future.

Feeling the same way. It seemed to be quite a trend to do in american movie/anime reviews during the time this video came out. To me it all sounds like they're shocked to find out that the rest of the world may not share the same values or structures, especially when it's japanese media from the 80's. Or that it is afterall shlock entertainment in anime form, and not meant to be taken seriously.

I´ve just finished the movie and totally loved it. I watched it in Japanese with sub and oh my... I think it has become a cult movie for me. I´d totally buy the VHS. The aesthetic, animation, ost, everything. I´m a woman and didn´t find it sexist, lol.

The only people who have something against someone bringing up blatant misogyny are those that have something to hide or be ashamed of. He's not going to fucking ignore a perfect legitimate complaint just because you think it should be looked past and ignored.
