On the 4th April 2018, the Commonwealth Sport family came together for the Opening Ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games to commence 11 days of unforgettable sport. #CommonwealthSport | #GC2018
So glad this has been added. This was part of my holiday to Oz. Happy memories. The build up the year before bidding for tickets and then getting them. The GC2018 staff a volunteers were brilliant. Watched the opening ceremony on the South Bank in Brisbane. Went to see the swimming at Southport and the table tennis too. Let's hope the home games in Birmingham are just as good and the covid restrictions are just a bad memory.
You took it 3 years to upload it. I had this entire thing recorded in 2018 live. I could've uploaded it sooner. 😂 I was desperately in look for the video to view the John Farnham song You're the Voice. Seriously, this ceremony wasn't available anywhere on the net. It think I was one of the very few with this entire video.
I had seen this on tv when i was in high school It was a dream to come to Australia and experience so much culture Fast forward, after 6 years, im finally here
9:45 - 10:09 Scotland 🏴🏴🏴🏴 Scotland did well at Gold Coast 2018 finishing 7th in the medals table. Winning 9 gold, 12 silver & 22 bronze medals. A total of 43 medals 🏅 This was the 5th time Australia had hosted the Commonwealth Games. Back in 1938, 1962, 1982, 2006 and 2018
Glad to have it, but could never do justice to how loud the crowd was when Australia came out. It was deafening. Could only dream what Sydney 2000 was like with 100k in attendance.
Very unique to see each of the four "countries" of the United Kingdom competing separately in these games. Also sad because of what is happening there now
England sucks with opening ceremonies, be it any sport or event even the London Olympics was not that impressive, the cricket wc of 2019 and euros and other events
I was at this ceremony. It was amazing but the rain at the start kind of made sitting in the stands quite miserable I did not have a poncho I didn't know where to get one. But leaving the ceremony was a nightmare as the organisers of all the buses stuffed up and one of them ended up breaking down leaving us all stranded for 2 hours. My mum and I didn't get back to our hotel until at least 2am. And there were also problems with people heading to the opening ceremony from Broadbeach they were stranded for 2 hours and they missed the start of the Opening Ceremony. Way too much drama with getting people from this event. The management was really bad.
@@debonidaniel I was very happy to be there. And yes it was a dream come true that I got this oppotunity to watch the Commonwealth Games for real. :) I almost met Kieran Perkins outside the stadium but I did not approach him. He is my idol when it comes to swimming.
