He’s really not all that small. I used to always think Nato looked like 2 weight classes heavier than what he was wrestling at but Lee looked bigger than him to me when they went head to head at trials

Lee had to beat Parpiev twice in the same match... once by out-wrestling him, then a second time by forcing the ref to give points even after being robbed of 6 points, and wrongly giving 4 points to Parpiev . IN other words, Lee teched this guy. Just look at 2:57 where Lee got a takedown (2) and then exposure (2 more) at 3:00, for example.
I'm not a FS expert, so I'll take your word on it. I did see he got robbed of a takedown. Jake Herbert told me one time that international refs were terrible and it's one of the reasons he ultimately quit wrestling.
What a match. What a comeback. I loved the full nelson, too. A couple times he had to stop his computer, smack himself out of feeling sorry for himself, and get back to work. This match inspires me.
Great match and heart by Lee to keep wrestling to the very end gutting out the win! Trailed whole match but kept his composure anf kept at it and earned the Win!

Great match called right by ref... Parpiev had some hand strength on those throw byes and serious flexibility give it to Spencer thou he grinded that match out kept his composure fought it out for the win!
@Jesus is Fake You can't really say shit if your profile photo literally is just the n-word in it. Nicholas Serrano makes a good point anyways, the guy was pretty savvy with some of his techniques and caught Spencer off guard.
InternetMunchies Helps when the ref is on your side too. Not saying Parpiev is a bad wrestler, but i think the points were coming easier for him then spencer.
Why the reff gotta be so aggressive and yanking his arm down like that, and pulling them together to hug at the end.. I think he prolly mad that he couldn’t fix the match to make Lee lose. He tired so hard to make Lee lose that match. It’s so obvious that he didn’t want Lee to win. Lee is a beast. 2020 Gold medal!!
Great match 2 highly skilled athletes and good referee work.. that's a tough match to work...no matter how it was scored, Lee won the match and was the better wrestler.
These refs especially this one sucks. They need to revamp the refs cause at this level and at the world level they are horrible. They need to have guys that are fair and unbiased also should have 2 refs on the mat at all times
Yea those two counters were nasty. But offensively that all he had. He never even took a real shot. He’s still extremely athletic to pull off those counters though.
