May be the pressure of a Gold Medal match, but they do not look like 4.0 finalist. In the first match the far court team also positioned themselves wrongly on the court when their score was 8 and also the referee did not see it
Competitive match. Not a criticism, and it’s certainly not a necessity, but to reach a gold metal match with little to no spin from any players seems a rare feat. Congratulations to the winners.
The most underused shot in pickleball, especially in the senior game, especially in mixed doubles, and especially in the wind and sun, is the third shot LOB. Even if it doesn't get over the receiver's head, it's a tough ball to put away. If the serving team both STAY BACK, follow it up with a back spin dink at the person who hit the overhead, and that person will miss it most of the time. By backing the receivers up, you give yourself a bigger target for the dink. it seemed like the winning team hardly ever hit a third shot drop...maybe it was too windy....in that case, hit some LOBS!
