@QLD Abandoned Mines have you read the book about the Gympie gold rush? They state that underground it was white quartz with gold running through like plum pudding. They hosted some fancy fella from France and wiped the walls. They took down dining tables and set up a feast. So many candles. Imagine how freaking awesome that looked. The surface dwellers got concerned at some point, but when they descended, on plank and rope, it turned out the locals and the visitors and the staff were all full of grog having an awesome time. Which is why no one had ascended for hours.
