Check it for a pinwheel. If it has a proper coin pinwheel (doesn't appear to in this video) then you'd want to check the grain of the metal with a microscope. While none have been found YET; the pre-82 Cent Planchets have been found in coins as late as a 1989 D. Considering the Manganese Brass quarter planchets could've easily gotten stuck in the hopper due to often being slightly oversized/irregularly cut it isn't impossible that there are Manganese Brass planchets found later than the 2000 Mass.

I have a 1999 P, Pennsylvania state quarter minted on a sacagawea (sp) planchet that appears gold in color. You might want to weigh that quarter.

But they didnt have sac coins until 2000 ?I have a 2001 new york gold quarter that doesnt look like it was deliberatly gold plated but its gold idk wierd

but I have a gold nickel and I don't think it was heated up the only reason I know that the new change does that is I saw a friend put a quarter on a wood stove to trick other friend to pick it up

It's very unlikely; but I did post him a reply letting him know to check for a "pinwheel" or "Cartwheel", I.E. the Frosting that reflects off of the coin to make the light spin around it circularly like two clock-hands. I have a 1999 P Experimental New Jersey Quarter. It seems to be slightly underweight compared to those "known/verified" but it not only has a pinwheel; but also shows a perfect annealed brass surface at 300-600x magnification. The Grain, metal flow, and oxide finish (patina) on mine are all indicative of Manganese Brass or other similar, compound alloys of brass used to make coins.

You're supposed to clean it, make contact with live electrolyte with the other end in gold cyanide You don't expect to heat things and expect gold, ARE YOU DUMB OR SOMETHING assuming to get free gold
