Seeing you videos makes me regret skipping all those chemistry classes in 1994 just to go shoot some pool… thanks for your videos and even though I’m not nearly at your level at metal refining… I would still play with you for those 0.7 grams at a pool table 😂

Great recovery here! Planning some e-waste recovery myself for this coming summer. Hope I can do as well. My plan is to mix everything together. Roasted chips, resistors, ribbon cables and mlcc's. Collect fingers from boards and throw it all in a beaker with AR. After silver recovery of course

Its crazy that sometimes when you add smb, that it turns white, then BAM its brown powder dropping out. Love these reactions

If you melt gold jewelry like rings necklaces and all that have karat marks like 10k 14k 18k and all do any of the other metals stay in the final product after its been melted or does the other metals go away and it just becomes strictly gold afterwards

Base metals are usually copper, why would you still add copper to HCI?

Well that answered a question, l was wondering if low grade pins were worth the effort of processing.. .. once again you have demonstrated the way to make it worth it, thank you Dusan

Tried your silver recovery used sulfuric acid and sodium nitraite. Material turns dark red. What am I doing wrong

Water? Do you add water first then sulfuric acid?
@jefferycecil8101
@jefferycecil8101 2 года назад
No water just sulfuric acid and sodium nitraite
@999DusanGoldrecovery
@999DusanGoldrecovery 2 года назад
If you see on video, first destilated water to cover silver items, then add sulfuric but smaler then water, then nitrate. You make mistake you not cover material with destilated water.

My issue with the CuCl2 method has to do with phosphor bronze base metals. Phosphor bronze is 5-8% tin. Tin in HCl forms stannous chloride. Copper chloride will etch gold, slowly, but it apparently does happen. Without tin being present, any etched gold is recemented out onto the base metals. But once stannous chloride is formed, any gold etched away becomes Purple of Cassius, also known as a positive stannous test. This is a coloidial solution that is difficult to deal with even by itself. Mixed with copper chloride, it's almost impossible to detect. I've seen the entire amount of plating dissolve and apparently disappear using the copper chloride process. Just be careful and try to avoid any tin when using this process.
@scrapping4shiba
@scrapping4shiba 2 года назад
I guess soak the pins in hcl for awhile before putting in cucl2, to remove the tin first.
@Vibe77Guy
@Vibe77Guy 2 года назад
@@scrapping4shiba That works for solder and surface tin plating. However, phosphor bronze had 5% to 8% tin in the base metal alloy, so a simple HCl soak would be ineffective.
@scrapping4shiba
@scrapping4shiba 2 года назад
@@Vibe77Guy perhaps a hcl bath first, then separate the pins that still have tin on them from the ones that don't. Then perhaps a dip into a nitric solution remove the stubborn tin. Then onto the cucl2 solution. That should probably work.
