Yess u shd buy bars of heavy wt as making charges are lesser while if u buy coins of lesser wt u have to pay....making charges everytime u buy a coin....so purchasing heavy bar saves money...

Thanks, hard to tell what should be done. Reason I said that is because volatility has been pretty crazy since 2020 and it is expected to stay wobbly for the coming years, I personally am not comfortable with buying silver in bulk at this level considering I bought mostly during 40,000 mark but if you are a new investor then can buy in small denomination and hold for a decade or so to see what happens. For Gold I am more comfortable at the moment so you can proceed to buy Gold for sure, in bulk as well. If it slips below 45,000 mark then can buy more.

My query: 1. Do I have to pay making charges etc for coin? Say gold rate as of now is 56000/10gm and after adding making charges etc it is 65000/10gm. So for a 10gm coin do I have to pay 56000 or 65000? 2. Say I want to sell my 10gm (1 tolla) gold coin when the rate of gold (without making charges etc) is say 70000/10gm. How much will I get?

Yea you could, I have done that for some of my 250 and 500. They get tarnished but if you don’t mind then go ahead. You could get some silver cleaner or anti tarnish bags if you’re worried.

They will end up tarnishing in any situation. Since they’re not in certicards (tightly sealed) and maybe the plastic isn’t of that great quality so it doesn’t work well.

Sir, can we get gold loan easily on Gold ornaments or gold coin/bars? ...which is better for future gold loan purposes.....and if gold coin/bars comes in tamper proof palings how Purchasing jeweller Know purity with out assesing it without breaking tamper proof packing

Ornaments. You won’t get loan for coins/bars. Many jewellers will buy your gold without opening if they know the brand or trust the certificate. If they have doubts then they may need to open to test.

Haan experimental selling toh hoga channel par don’t worry about that. Initially I started buying with the thinking I would sell for ₹. But then as I learned I have kind of changed my thinking of only liquidating when the world goes upside down or if I want to buy something and I no longer have any source of income. So, passing to next gen seems like the option for me unless something comes up before that :) I totally understand your concern about viability. Will do something interesting as soon as it is safe to step out 😇 Thanks for your input.

After lockdown if price goes down buy more of Gold if you don’t have much and then buy like 250-500 Gram Silver. Buy both, invest in both.

Pricewise I would suggest BRPL, RSBL, etc. Quality wise I would go for MMTC-PAMP, Kundan, etc.

I like bars because I like rectangles 😂 I don't buy for investment purposes since it's a hassle to sell them. A small stack which is easy to carry is enough for me.
