It's been 7 or 8 years, can't recall, but I still BLAST OUT LOUD this...so Loud, that my neighbours are preparing for siege, the dogs are getting saddled for battle, even NEW YEAR'S EVE came early just to enjoy this Omnipotent Medley !!!!
Of all the old gems I treasure from youtube, this is one of the videos that I always come back to. It's noticeable that you put your heart and soul into this project. My brother and I had a great time listening late at night after some beers. As time goes on and we get older, life sets us apart and we meet less and less. It was a very special and nostalgic moment. I can't thank you enough for that - and also for making the high quality file available for download. I wish you the very best in your life and success in all your projects, regards of it involves music or not. A very big hug and farewell from Brazil !
Still one of the finest pieces of music on YoutTube. Still listening after god knows how many years. Way to take something already incredible and smash it even further out the park. This is brilliant work. I'd pay good money for it if I could.
Grandes e eternos heróis da adolescência! Em uma batalha épica, e eterna contra todas as forças do mal! Essas versões fazem jus à sua luta! Tks for this gold!
I can feel the goosebumps coming my way. This is THE best and most extensive Golden Axe cover I have ever listened. Thank you for making this fantastic arrangement and sharing it with us.
This has been a medley that has stuck with me for the last 6 years, I always come back to it. This game and this rendition means more to me than you'll ever know so I'd just like to say thank you, thank you so much for this!
It's super awesome that you listened in such detail, however, this is my arrangement, and nothing is "missing" as such , everything is the way I wanted it to be, and the link you posted is for C64 not SEGA Genesis :D Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a metalhead, a gamer and a musician currently working on the orchestral Golden Axe medley, and this, sir, is a great piece of work! I remember listening to it years ago, and it still kicks ass!!!
Oh Yeah!. God was this the best hack 'n slash of all time or what? (In arcades) Have you guys played Golden axe 2 (only available on the Genesis)? If so how do you compare it to the original arcade game and it's ports to Master system and Mega drive? I think for the home systems and even comparing it the the original cabinet of the first game the sequel for the Genesis is a better game. But I love 'em both.
After all these years since I first heard it, this song still absolutely is the bar to which I set all other video game music. Not just remakes or covers but all game music that I hear. The way this work completely captures every aspect of the game and is able to transfer that to the listener is something very, very few composers and musicians can do, in any genre of music. This is beyond timeless, friend. I speak for everyone when I say thank you creating such a memorable and enduring piece of art!
Wow. Apparently this was one of the first videos I favourited years and years ago, and I just stumbled back on it today. Absolutely brilliant, saved it this time Goddamn masterpiece, this was my favourite game on the Sega Genesis with my favourite soundtrack of all time
I've been rocking to it for the past few years! Whenever I think of the Golden Axe days, I think of this amazing medley. Hold your head up high forever, champion! You do your fellow man an outstanding service. Keep rocking! \[T]/ PRAISE!

I've had this mp3 for years. Haven't played it in a long while. I remenber when I discovered old game music being played by talented musicians. This is one of the finest examples of this niche. It's friday 19:00. I have a beer mug and this blasting through my speakers. Awesome!
One of my fondest childhood memories is co-oping Golden Axe 1 and 2 with my Dad. We beat those games so many times together. This tune not only captures and retains the overall vibe of the original, but builds on it while respecting the source material. Excellent, excellent stuff.
Damn RU-vid is a strange "world" on the one hand there are stupid kids just talking shit, recording it, uploading it and getting millions of views for that and on the other hand there are people like you...great musical talents totally underrated....a masterpiece like this medley just having 98 views...poor world.... .... GREAT JOB!!(ok still not enough to express how i enjoyed listening to this) *bows down and enjoys the music*
@ProphetsOfAshes nice too see that you sat through the entire thing!!!!! There is just as much MIDI happening to called it a MIDI cover too haha, took a LONG time to put this together, thanks for the kind words. I'm surprised to see it has 12k views, last time I saw it was only 1k haha
Dude keep doing what you're doing im fairly young but I grew up with this game me and my brother would play this all the time when I was young well this and contra but I feel like this is a masterpiece
Hi, I came here on a link from the original soundtrack. I haven't played Golden Axe in over 20+ years, but the music is still epic. Your renditions are... masterful. Amazing. Thank you!
Now _that_ has to be the most stirring version of Battlefield that I've ever heard! If only it came by itself in a 30-minute extended version too.... ;)
oh fuck it's you playing!!! At first I thought it was gonna be a midi cover medley (which is almost just as applaudable because one needs a good ear to compose a cover, playing it is the next step lol) AWESOME JOB!
Great work mate, some of my fav game compositions there and you have adapted them very well to the rock/metal style. Just what i needed at work this morning!
For me, this is one of the greatest things on the internet. I know I already commented on this, but I recorded the "better quality download" ^ (from the description above) onto cassette ...bear with me... and coming out of my stereo it sounds totally mint! I played Golden Axe all the time in my youth, and still play it occasionally, already knowing all the tunes so this blows me away each time.
Mother of Golden Axe... Fucking amazing dude! This has always been my favorite game series as a child and listening to your medley nearly gave me an orgasm!
Bless you with this amazing work and the fucking feels man.... The fucking feels. Do I need to say more? Like, sit here and explain this and that and when I played it and how young I was and all the occasions and all? No, I do not. Why? Because we are many man, we are thousands, no, we are probably much more than that, and I am but one little person from all of us that have shared in the same feels all with our own collection of timeless memories :) Awesomeness overload, epicness overload, nostalgia and feels overload... I might as well close my eyes eternally on this :) I only hope that the so many others out there get around to hearing this as well. So many in our generation that grew up with this, so many that moved on, life, growing up, etc... So many that forgot that child playing along. If this could only fall across their path at some point to remind them of those days and bring back some of those memories. It would really do something special for them. I know it :) I only hope for that ;)
ps, to complete my nostalgia trip, I am listening to this (and the originals among other retro songs in a playlist I made) whilst designing finally my own retro themed platformer :) screenshot as proof of what this awesome track helped me put together (as early as it still is at the moment) - i.imgur.com/6VXHkQ1.png (zoom to proper size to enjoy the proper feel of the... PIXEL... lol)
duffy123123 which one? the one I am designing? O.O Kewl! :) Well I only started (this is also my first shot on pixel art so still learning things, its quite early). It seems to be something I can put together quite fast atm compared to other games I tackled, so I should have an update soon maybe even on my RU-vid channel about it :)
Holy SHIT!!!!!!! This is just the perfectest damn example of a cool ass thing made GODLIKE! Reminds me of the days of Golden Axe, and Conan the Barbarian. thank you.
This is one of the best metal covers I've ever heard. Some songs from the game, like The Wilderness, lend themselves well to metal, but others don't as much, yet you still made them work really well. I'm amazed that you were able to make even the whimsical tune that plays during those sequences where the player kicks those tiny thieves to get magic potions sound badass.
This is amazing. It's rare to see a classic game soundtrack remade while keeping the feeling of the original but this pulls it off and them some. Great rendition.
