Wow, I have a Golden Buddha story too, it was my son's birthday and I was moving too fast and broke my favorite black Buddha incense holder. Needless to say I felt sad and promised Buddhaaaaayaahhhh as I like to call him that I would find a replacement. Fast forward a couple of hours we are at the mall and what do I see, a Golden Buudha air diffuser and it was the very last one & of course I brought it and lived happily ever after 😀
Technically, it's not true that "every ounce" of the statue is pure gold. The bulk of the body is 40% gold, the head is 80% gold (just above 18 karat), and the ornamentation on the head is pure gold (99%).
@@Freeski802 MikeRosoftJH is correct. From Wikipedia: "The body of the statue is 40% pure, the volume from the chin to the forehead is 80% pure, and the hair and the topknot, weighing 45 kg, are 99% pure gold".
@@nicolebrancato4822 Buddha didn't want people to worship him him at temple's and monuments it's just a hollow vessel that serves no purpose unlike organic matter that returns to the earth after your light moves on . The Buddha couldn't even teach enlightenment if he even wanted to and he couldn't enlightenment started a birth but not always achieved because it happens without effort or thought it a way of life instead he helps people find ones own understanding snd path . We can never find happiness in anything outside of one's self and only found alone. The Buddha said death is they end of suffering and we should to face death in the same way we enjoy life every ending is a new being. Could you imagine Buddha in a jacked up truck with loud pipes looking into space he would feel stilly no matter how much money and materials you get separates us from everyone including ourselves that's why we attached suffering with death because we don't know ourselves and feel detached we separated are mind from body . We should never connect one's self to anything including religion or country not even a to a soda company you start to lose yourself a little with each one. The ego only grows longer and further away from you true self that you only you know and laugh at your mistakes don't blame anyone because it takes away from ones self its takes Conscious effort at first and then without any. Life is a path taken alone until one finds themselves and you'll have an invisible line you won't let anyone gross which only comes from self love that is yours forever . If you have anymore questions I'll get back to you eventually I'll have i channel good night
