Can someone explain it? It looks like Kate Mara, Helen Mirren and least but not last I did not got it. I understand the words what they are saying, just don't get the whole context between her job and his award. ty
@@Pag0017 They listed Amal's accomplishments and contributions to human rights to contrast George Clooney's acting career, which they implied was far less significant. The punchline is the irony of how she does so much for human rights, but it's her husband, a mere entertainer, that gets a lifetime achievement award.
I know it's now old but that joke on Amal and George is one of the very best and timed jokes I have ever heard. Build up was perfect and I am sure George would be honoured to have such a good joke crafted for him.
@@iamsobeautifulomg that wasn't the intention - 'a bitch' like your wife can't be successful or what? it was meant to say that hollywood is stupid and she has a 'real job' and how dumb that we pay attention to his acting more than her important human rights lawyer shit.
well he was , did you see the cut to him laughing and clapping? i mean is there a debate about it. your kind of pointing the blatently obvious as i'm two years late on this comment so touche to me.
The way they underlined Amal's work, put a punch on newspaper which called her as Clooney's wife, and burnt the Hollywood in one single joke... Perfectly crafted !
@@BjrnOttoVasbottenbjovas - Tina's Joaquin bit is a true original, never heard a line like it. Also when Amy does the Frances Mcdormand line about the fire, check out Tina's facial expression - that's attention to detail. It''s like "seriously, what about me ?"
@@BjrnOttoVasbottenbjovas That was priceless that line. Their timing is sublime. I have to dig up stand up routines by them and just binge on this rainy day in Melbourne.
Yeah, that was a perfect joke - so pointed, but not self-important; it doesn't really mock him so much as point out the sexism and absurdity of Hollywood (but really our collective culture), and it gives her resume a well-earned shout-out at the same time.
@@leojbramble Exactly, they're not mocking HIM - he's in on the joke, too. It's not as if he doesn't notice the difference between his resume and his wife's, or the relative fame (and I assume money) given to each of them.
3:12 “Steve Carrell’s Foxcatcher look took 2 hours to put on, including his hair styling and makeup. Just for comparison, it took me three hours today to prepare for my role as ‘Human Woman.’” 😂😂😂😂😂 TINA HOW ARE YOU SO RELATABLE
Do have any concept of syntax? It would be trully charismatic NOT true charismatic. The Emma Stone comment was absurd. Finally the "talent of the human kind" quote is pretentious pseudo intellectual garbage.
The problem is the fact that many get offended or would add left-wing politics into everything the last couple of years, they are trying to get back to this type of monologue. But it will take a little bit of time. Which blows. I think they did good but they were no Tina and Amy. The fake roasts were kinda funny, I guess.
archana koshal Bill Cosby was accused of drugging and sexually abusing many women (I believe at least one of them was underaged) for a long period of time. He was sentenced to three to ten years of prison. Being a violent predator he was also sentenced to lifelong psychological therapy.
uhhhh as it should be, she is the one doing real work that changes the world history ever so slightly, while he is paid to look good and accessible to housewives
Six (6) years later and still funny as hell. So well-crafted. They need a Golden Globe for Golden Globe hosts. Fey and Poehler would win by a landslide.
While the camera is on George Clooney after the joke about getting the lifetime achievement award you can hear Tina saying “it’s so stupid” I love that part 🤣
Glad I wasn’t the only one that thought about this, seeing his (Kevin Spacey) face laughing along with a joke made me cringe. Wish we could photoshop him out of video clips like this one.
After the Oscars 2022 slapgate, there is new appreciation for how smart their jokes are. They managed to make people laugh and make subtle compliments in so many of the jokes.
@@conorwade2535 right that's why hes hosted it so many times. He makes jokes that are actually offensive and clever, all Tina Fey does is rehash 5th grade jokes and all Amy Poehler does is talk about her vagina and sex.
@@jg1205 Well as Ricky said people often mistake the subject of the joke for the actual target. While I do see your point but Ricky has never made an offensive joke where the F-you part was the punchline. He knows award shows are always boring for the layman as it's basically Hollywood patting itself on the back. What I appreciate more about Ricky is that he's not catering to the richest, most privelidged people in the room, he's catering to the audience, by doing exactly that, teasing the richest, most privelidged people in the world. I guess that's why less of the people there feel comfortable. What's refreshing is that Ricky's highlighting how out of touch many of them are with the rest of society (including himself on occasion) and how hypocritical virtue signalling for the sake of virtue signalling is. So when some of them use getting an award as a platform to make a political speech as a way to lecture the public on what they should do and how, it only highlights the detachment from society all the more. Not saying these two aren't good because they genuinely are unconventional too (the Bill Cosby jokes cracked me up) just saying why people might prefer Ricky's roasts more. But hey everyone's opinions is worth as much as anyone else's so who knows. Also apparently they're both done with it anyways so cheers.
I watch all three monologs in a row every few months - sometimes more often! The writing is great and these two ladies are fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!!!😁🥰
