@@sobrevalorado These two individually are better than Gervais at presenting, so in combination they're more than twice as good. Gervais fans are the worst.
@@lucasfernandezsoares3967 Gervais is funny but mean, and crotchety. That kind of thing has a shelf life. I (for one) would rather see the likes of Amy and Tina poking fun (and occasionally hitting hard) where it's due, without coming across as cynical and miserable, like Gervais in his last Golden Globes gig. The people in charge of these award shows want TV ratings above all else, and Tina and Amy's style appeals to a wider net than Gervais's "burn 'em all down" approach. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Ricky Gervais ripping celebrities apart, but year after year? Ehhhh. Too much of a good thing.
"I haven't really been following the controversy with Zero Dark Thirty, but when it comes to torture I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron." Absolute Gold.
Especially when you know of all the actors who have worked with Cameron. They spilled the tea. An absolute nightmare. Highly emotional, erratic, and explosive anger.
I remember watching the 70th Golden Globe awards on TV when Amy and Tina were presenting but only now I get that joke. Jessica Chastain's reaction at Kathryn's table was very telling 😬
Them saying “The beautiful people of movies bumping shoulders with the rat faced people of TV”, and then cutting to Quinten Tarantino and Sofia Vergara was an incredible moment 😂😭 Edit: I’m glad this comment resonated with 1k people, I’m buying drinks for all of you 😎
@@aleksandrabt9856it's funny bcs they pronounced both Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lupita Nyong'o correctly, which are the hard names. but they pronounced Tom Hanks incorrectly when his name is literally so simple
@@josapplesauce445Well, the allegations came out because he had been assaulting people in that very room for years. They knew he was a creep, and I think some of the reactions, especially from women, seem pretty shocked that they went there.
Dude Tina Fey dragged George Clooney straight down into the dirt in THE CLEANEST WAY POSSIBLE. 👏👏👏👏 I believe that is called art. Obviously both of these women are dream wives. 🔥🔥🔥
@@eavierosewilder2969 They are both strong, independent, and hilarious women who many men would like to marry...which would then make those men their husbands, and Tina or Amy, wives. There's nothing remotely sexist in the original comment. Quit being so combative.
@@MegaFlorest Women literally don't give a shit whether men want to marry them or the opinion of whether they are marriable in the first place. It's not "combative" to point out women are not just wives, dummy.
@@givesvertigo Fair enough. First her suggestion that a movie star would ever do porn allows Tina Fey to say "Pretty sure she has no plans to do porn (because she's a movie star, why would she)" This sets up the line when Amy Poehler says "no one has PLANS to do porn" implies that any female (especially those that end up in porn) never PLANNED to end up in porn, but still end up in porn. It also implies that even a successful person can end up in porn despite their plans
@@givesvertigo it means that a squeaky clean innocent actress like Anne could end up doing sexual "porn" like movies eventually...with no real initial intention to do so. That's Hollywood
Well said. They don't hate the entertainment industry and have disdain for everyone who works in it, like some past hosts. That's secretly important to hosting. Hosts have to make fun of Hollywood and actors/actresses without conveying that they think their targets are evil or worthless.
cameraman was lagging so the visual joke was sort of lost but "beautiful people of film" *cuts to Tarantino* "rat-faced people on television" *cuts to Sofia Vergara*
They are the perfect hosts because not only are they hilarious and genius writers, they aren't afraid to make fun of how ridiculous Hollywood is and NOBODY is safe! Everyone in that room is scared of them and what they might say and that's what makes it so much fun.
Steve Carell looking into the camera like he's still in the office is the best thing in this whole 40 minutes. and there were a lot of good moments. (21.06)
So many classics that James Cameron Joke lmaooooo, the 12 years a slave joke, the James Franco Oscars joke, the porn joke, the Meryl Streep Joke, The Tom Hanks joke, the Amy Pohler/Jennifer Lawrence joke, the Jonah Hill joke, the Steve Carrell joke, "who would you rather", and of course the fantastic George Clooney lifetime achievement award joke
A complete set- complementing each other’s comedic styles & a true friendship shines thru. A real dynamic duo. Supporting each other through decades. There are no comedians better
Oh my god what a bunch of classic, teasing one liners. Amy and Tina is as good as Ricky with a nice feminine touch. Tthe duo delivers an outstanding, epic duologe
The look on his face is what gets me. It's clear he's extremely introverted and uncomfortable, and just basically looking up to the heavens with a why me look on his face😂
God, it must be so hard for audience members to have a good reaction with cameramen right under their faces. Love Fey and Poehler, the Golden Globes speeches always reveal which actors can take a joke haha
Except for Tom Hanks. One of the greatest actors of his time and he still can't pretend like he is fine with a few simple jokes against him😂 and this one was "Tam Honks", a preschool level joke which he couldn't handle.
Watching this in 2023 and realized that Tam Honks has the same exact look during the entirety of Ricky Gervais’ 2020 Globes opening monologue. He’s like the Derek Zoolander of awards shows. He only has one look!!!
Their top 3 jokes in each GG: 1. George Clooney Part 1 ("Gravity is nominated for Best Film. It's the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.") 2. on George Clooney Part 2 ("George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year. Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an advisor to Kofi Annan regarding Syria, and was selected for a three-person U.N. panel commission investigating rules-of-war violations in the Gaza strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award.") 3. on Kathryn Bigelow ("I haven't really been following the controversy over Zero Dark Thirty, but when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron.")
You could tell that Matt Damon thought they were going to make fun of his character and behind the candelabra, and when all they did was call him a garbage person, you can tell how relieved he was😅
Wow. It’s wild watching this 4 years later. All those events they are talking about feel like a century ago but in reality they were just a year before the pandemic. Also Tina and Amy are my favorite duo hosts and actresses
