this song brings up so many emotions for me. i’m just in such a dark time with not being happy with who i am and not wanting to accept myself. i know i’m bisexual but i prefer girls, and when i finally got the courage i come out to my mom she told me i was going to hell and said i didn’t deserve to be alive. and not having friends that supported me i am stuck in this never ending cycle of sadness and i just want to get out. it’s like there is this heavy weight on my chest and i can barely breathe. this song makes it a bit easier for me. “take me back to the light” it is just a nice reminder that maybe it will get better and i can find someone who accepts me for who i am. and that’s something i will never understand about my mom. i’m still the same girl that she raised and claimed she loved but now i see that’s not really true. if she did love me she would accept me for who i was. and i will forever be grateful for harry and this song because this is the small light i have at the end of the tunnel and i’m just hoping that one day i will finally get there. but until then this song is all i have and i am hoping that the light comes quickly because i don’t think i can live like this for much longer.
