Our Fourth and Final game this IndieWeen is Mr. Pink's Golden Light, a body horror roguelike that's easily the weirdest, meatiest horror game I've played. It's weird, it's violent, it's SPOOKY! You play as "You" (according to your snarky bicycle friend Snout) and you were having a lovely picnic with "She" until a giant meat holy opened up and a giant meant hand snatched away She into an ever changing labyrinth called "The Gut." and believe me when I say that this premise is the least weird thing about this game.
By the way, Golden light just received an ENORMOUS UPDATE called The Meat Song Update that adds even more insane stuff to this game. It's got big Videodrome energy!

just so that u know, unity doesnt have a problem with draw distance, look at escape from tarkov, it has a problem with pop-in when badly coded

Problem is a lot of indie creators don't bother with LOD settings and unloading stuff that you can't see and instead just unloads based on distance which is what causes the pop-in.

I play tarkov religiously. Not only does it have severe issues with draw distance, but the game has end game quests revolving around getting long distance shots lmao

Amazing ending of one of my favorite series on yt! I would love it if next year you reviewed Pathologic 2, a game from a struggling indie company that definitely deserves so, so much more praise! Its definitely a foreboding and challenging game, I think you’d really like it!

quick note about the roguelike/roguelite thing,roguelike is when you dont carry over anything from run to run,while roguelites have more features that carry over (stats,items you unlock like in isaac,etc)

These are the differences from what I've experienced. Roguelike: You start a new game/run with nothing every time. From base stats. Roguelite: Usually has upgrades that continue past death and carry over into the next run

@ A) Thank you for the correction. B) True, sadly. I was reading people's opinions on the classic Rogue and actually read someone complaining that it was too similar to all the modern roguelikes we have nowadays. On the game that coined part of the name- Gave me a bit of a laugh

RogueLITES, however, have some sort of slow and steady progression system, whether that be unlocks that can spawn in a new run or slowly improving your stats. Think Noita vs Hades. Noita completely erases your progress when you die, while Hades has you slowly increasing your stats and abilities.

wait, WAIT! Those are the guys who made Rose of Meat for Dread X - The Hunt! I recognize the quest icon from it. I am like 1 and half minutes in and I know this will be good. I recommend Rose of Meat and the whole Dread X Collection, it's genuinely good! Rose of Meat is weird and pretty unnerving, also there as normal looking woman there that is somehow very unnerving. Even more than flesh people and... whatever is there in the woods of the island.

The Fatties, those pulsing doorway horrors, remind me of an odd Star Trek novel concerning "Sackers", friendly amoeboid Hefty Bag aliens that wish to join the UFP, but are so revolting nobody can tolerate their presence. Translucent, formless bodies with heaving, shifting organs, crackling pseudopods, and leechy, gristly symbiote organelles grinding inside - quelle nauseaum! Their voices are set at volumes and frequencies that are physically painful to hear, they bear an odour that makes a morgue full of gassy, liquidy, gangreney decomposition seem like an Alpine breeze, and ooze a corrosive, mucosal secretion, on top of a metabolism that generates burning levels of heat, making hugs highly inadvisable.
