Have a background in art & was taught theoretically about the golden ration but never shown a practical way to use it! MANY thanks, keep doing the things!!
Thanks you very much Mr. Dansky. I've tried to find books about designing with a golden ratio, none of them help, but your Golden ratio content is exactly what I've longed for. You're my favorite. Subscribed.
If you place a ruler on the bottom edge of the circles, the "new" circle that you copy and enlarge will always snap to that rule and enlarge smoothly without breaking the symmetry. It helps with random jagged "noise" bits that can appear if the "magic snap" was not perfectly accurate.
Well done! That's what people like myself, beginners and self learners need to see and practice. Big Thanks to YOU and others for sharing your skills and time with us!
went in looking to learn about the golden ratio template - also discovered what the shape builder tool was for! Great video, lots of leanings. Thank you!
Hi Danksy! Love your tutorials. They're simple and easy to grasp. I tried the golden ratio bird and found the repetitive part funny, actually. The bird turned out great. Sad thing: RU-vid doesn't allow sharing pictures in the comments, otherwise it would've been cool to share our versions.
When you said "have the golden ratio in mind when you are sketching out a design before putting it in Illustrator, can you describe a little more about how someone should go about doing that when sketching? (sorry very much a beginner here lol)
I believe they mean that don't just make a design and then try to apply the golden ratio hoping it's gonna work. If you plan to have a logo that follows the golden ratio, have the curves and angles for it so when you do put it into Illustrator, the circles align and fit properly or at least close enough to your design.
awesome thank. you for this tutorial I tried to work with the golden ratio for a long time but could not figure out how to apply it properly, so thanks. again ! 😍
Great tutorial, but isn't the golden ratio about the right distance between objectsa aswell? Im not sure why this design is called golden ratio design?
So incredibly helpful. Thanks. Perhaps consider a video in future about converting a logo that you've designed (not specifically considering the golden ratio) into something that works with the ratio. It'll be great to see your thoughts and process on something like that.
trust me it's not complicated at all the problem is that people try to use Ai the same way they use Ps, and that's just entering a world of pain they're 2 entirely different programs with some similarities - use the similarities as a kickstart, not as a base to learn how to use the program
It is more easy to make circles 1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34 cm and then reduce or enlarge altogether to get desired size. Each number is the sum of two preceding numbers except first two numbers. second number is the double of first number.
Amazingly perfect! Logo is quite simple yet magical using the golden ratio technique... I'll get to try this one with no hesitance. Thanks for sharing this Tutorial + Technique. Using the golden ratio It really tends to have a neat and clean design through accurate measurements. Thanks for your kindness Sir Dansky! Thanks for sharing this video Tutorial! Great help... could apply this to future logo designs in a different picture yet in a precise manner.
Awesome! Many many thanks for this design. I have learnt from your instructive lession. I want this such creative and instructive lesson more and more. Thanks again and best wishes and regards.
Was struggling with this until I stumbled upon your video ...Great...I did lose my way a bit when it was time to change the colour of the logo at the end....but overall...thank you for this
Nice tutorial! However the logo itself has nothing to do with golden ratio as far as distributed balance. You’re just using fixed spheres to cutout a shape with random placement...
what can you suggest that we do to keep in mind the golden ratio when creating our logos? Is there a technique to do that or is it just years of practice/ experience? Thank you.
Great tutorial. It've seen some golden ratio video tutorial and I find yours really well explained. 2:34 In my case I must disable "snap-to-pixel" to align the square and the circle to ther others. When I extend it with shif it increase by 0,5 instead by 1. It's awkward. I thought it was because the "Y axis" was 400,5pt while the "X axis" was 400pt. But it's not that. Did it happen to someone too ? I don't know what to do to make it work with the "snap-to-pixel" option.
