Both my Goldens loved to bring the Mail. I ran an adult family home, and we had a pharmacy that would deliver. One of them would meet the vehicle at the curb and get the meds through the window, and place back carrying them. The pharmacy posted a picture of him for years after he passed.

In all seriousness, Alicia given the fact that dogs are genetically pack animals, do you think maybe he is learning so quickly because of growing up in an honest to goodness pack? My Newf won't carry anything for me. He looks at me as if to say ' you have thumbs, you carry it' Every dog is unique & Oliver is just showing his talents. Herbie is living up to the gentle giant. Thanks for sharing

Love the toy box in the background..I had the same..my golden..Mollie's favorite toy was a green 🐢 turtle. Lambchop was a second favorite! We miss her terribly! Love dogs❤

Our golden used to carry the mail, too. She always wanted to carry something to help. Where we lived on a ranch, we used to use beer/soda flat boxes for different things and she loved to carry those. She would get one by the side and pick it up so that the inside bottom of it was in her face and she couldn't see where she was going! Such silly clowns goldens are!!

When I was a kid, many many moons ago, there was a guy who would come up to the local coffee shop with his dog and send him two doors down to the post office. The dog would wait for someone to go in then put his paws up on the counter. The postmaster would give the dog the man's mail and as people opened the appropriate doors, he went back to the coffee shop and brought the guy his mail. I have never seen a better trained dog in my life. And he was a mutt. The duchess of Devon says hello to all the Springfield dogs
