i remember staying there in the early 70s when the vans were so different to the luxury ones today ,we had to get our own gas bottle from the site store and connect it up {scary for two 18 year olds} luckily one of the grasscutting men did it for us lol

Deadpool it was our first time there, it’s the 3rd Haven we have visited and we had a really good time. We loved visiting Skegness for the day too. I have not been to Butlins so I didn’t know the rides where free to you, that’s really good! In Haven you have to pay for them all. Maybe Butlins is more expensive to stay and that’s why they are included. It would be interesting to compare the prices of them both and see. Butlins does look really good. Sorry I can't help you with that question as we just went on holiday and stayed in one of there caravans. Have a look on the Haven website or try and call and ask because I know some sites do accept tourers. Sorry I can't help but thanks for watching 👍

Sounds like a lot has changed then since 2019. What have they replaced the fair with? It was quite expensive though compared to the fairs outside of the campsite so it can’t have been making much money .

@@EllisTravel im thinking the area has been changed dramatically as there is now an out side bar with large screen ,lots of seating and cute gardens ,to be fair what ever they do to golden sands it will always remain one of my favorite places to stay .

Oh yes I suppose with all the rules around covid making more outdoor area seating with a screen would be beneficial. The didn’t really need the fair anyway with others not too far away. Thanks for the update 👍

Hi yes the site is huge and we were staying miles away from reception, there are plenty of parking spaces around the areas of reception and entertainment so we used to drive as we where in the outback of caravans right on the edge of the site. Also I have heard from one on the comments on this video that during covid they got rid of the fair but you did have to pay extra for it and it was a lot more expensive than ones outside of the site. There are a couple of fairs not too far away. Hope you have a great time on Monday and thanks for watching. 👍

Oh wow fair has gone although It doesn’t surprise me as it was very expensive and nobody used it especially when you have other cheaper fairs to use outside of the holiday park. Thanks for the update and for watching 👍

@@EllisTravel yw & i happen to be an owner on that site, the changes were mentioned last year & when i came this year to open up our holiday i saw for myself how much the area the fair was had changed but they were only part of the way thru it then the pandemic kicked off & the work stopped, at that point i was unsure if i would be stuck on the park but thankfully i wasnt, as for the fair 20 tokens for a fixed amount, if you were there for a week & the weather was bad nothing was open so you spent a fortune on tokens only to find you couldnt use them i wonder how many took the tokens home with them or stuck them in the bin on the day they leave, i also got told the town fair was closing too but that ive yet to see for myself

It must be great to have a holiday home. Great to escape when you get the chance. We found a great little fair on the way to Skegness can't remember what it was called but you bought a wrist band and you could go on as many rides as you like with it. Our little boy was only 4yr old and it was great for him. Loved the local seal sanctuary too. We had a great time there. Hope it doesn't change too much for you.

We just booked a standard caravan there was no information about it being newer all I know is that we booked a regular standard and that’s what we got. They asked at check in if we wanted to upgrade for an extra £20 but we said no thanks. We were staying in the park of the site called Teak Bank. It was a nice caravan and we really enjoyed the holiday there👍

@@EllisTravel thank you for your reply. Where abouts is teak bank on the map, I can't find it. Looks lovely we go on Monday and wasn't sure if to upgrade or not. It's our first time to this park, usually go The Orchards x

On the map it’s the red ones on the top right hand side just under the blue pine drive. Think our caravan was about a 5 minute walk at the most with a toddler so not too far, not as bad as it looks on the map. It was our first time at the site too. I don’t know the orchards site but this one was nice. Hope you have a brilliant time when you go I think it’s going to be a good week for the weather. Shan Clary so I read your message wrong I thought you meant you stayed at the orchards on that site which is very close to the complex but didn’t realise it was a different site. I’ve just amended my comment 🤦‍♀️

We always just get a standard caravan, we never bother with an upgrade. We’ve never had a deluxe but think the standard is pretty good. We had a trip to Thornwick bay Haven an cancelled. It was for the 1st of June that would have been nice but hopefully we will get to go again. Thanks for watching I appreciate he support 👍

Haha expensive arcades is right especially if you have kids. They go through money far too fast.
