I recently discovered the Golden SoFlat matte acrylic and wanted to continue my quest to see if acrylic gouache is the same medium as matte acrylic like many people claim. I got a small set of 6 jars and played with them...
One thing is for sure, this is excellent paint and I enjoyed using it.

It's very cool that the brush strokes disappear - I think I would really like that! Good to know that it IS different than acrylic gouache, at least in this brand. Thanks, Sandrine!

I was watching some people painting miniatures with these paints and they said that the coverage is great. I wonder if the paper is absorbing the paint too much, maybe adding a layer of gesso or glassing/matte medium to the paper could help with the coverage?

Have you ever used the Sta-Wet tray? I have one and it keeps my paints wet for many days! Saves a ton of paint. I'd be curious to see these paints on a black background or another darker color.

I do have one, and I also have a little plastic box that works just as well. I love using them especially when I have to interrupt my painting session. What a paint saver! I've used regular gouache and acrylic gouache on black paper and they look very nice. I think these would too. Although they might require more layers.
