Nothing is wrong with leaf springs. Mike Maier is a well known mustang guy for the racing scene that makes custom fabricated parts for classic mustangs. He has several race cars that he's built using leaf springs that easily keep up with and even beat cars with full coilovers. Plus, to anyone who has ever tried putting coilovers on a classic mustang, they know that there is not a ton of room around the rear axle to do so. This is actually why Mike Maier makes a kit of his own design which coverts the rear suspension to a pushrod coilover setup moving the coils into the trunk. That kit is geared specifically for classic mustangs that are sitting much lower than normal. In common stock or lowered applications, leaf springs work just fine.

You think they would of used a carbon fiber drive shaft and the real question is can it beat the 2018 mustang and it's still a Ford fixed or repaired daily already have problems trying to get it to start
