I went to elementary school with Jubu aka John and his brother Eric, he used to tease me alot, couldn't stand him, then he went on to be on TV in the bay area on a show called, "Just Kids Kidding", proud of him.
I just heard Jubu Smith for the first time today with Maze. What a blessing! I've been a Maze fan since they first came out. I've always been a huge fan of Maze bassist Robin Duhe and Maze guitarist Wuane Thomas. Wuane Thomas' iconic pickin' lines melded perfectly with Robin Duhe's potent bass playing. Combined with the rest of the band's stellar playing, and great sounds, they were a force to be reckoned with. Then today I heard Jubu Smith with them. Not only does he fit perfectly, his soulful playing, beautiful solo tone, skill full use of effects and undeniable chops, take them to new levels. Maze's songs are the perfect vehicles for his abilities. The solo on Golden Time of day is a masterpiece. It should be required listening for all musicians. That's my 50 cents worth. Now I'm going to listen to Golden Time Of Day again. Can't get enough of it.
Jubu came from playing with Tony Tone then Whitney Houston before Frankie hired him....this is my favorite version of Maze and I've been a fan since the first album....got to see them live with both bands back in the day. ..the chemistry of Maze is so deep...they are one when they step on a stage
Jubu is extremely clean in his solos and as nasty as you want to be. The extraordinary sound and much expertise in when to throw in the smooth jazz licks. Much Love. What a God-given talent!
Frankie if it ain't live it ain't you 🙏🏾💯 and may the Lord continue blessing you to see some more days like theses with your health and strength. Just keep up with the music you got it. 😘💯❤️🙏🏻
Hello Frankie you may be doing that up an age like we all are but you still got it going on to be your age and may the Lord continue to Keep on Blessing to each and every day and don't forget to keep God first in your life the way he keeps us first in his life and the mighty name of Jesus Amen
