Bro it was 2001 when you were born by the time you were old enough to play and understand games it would of been like 2009 already so you make no sense with this song this only works for 90s kids born 1985-1990
@ramennoodle2085 I mean have you played goldeneye recently? Bc the n64 controls suck. It was definitely great for its time, but I don't think it'd necessarily aged well unless you play it with mouse and keyboard
The enemies stop shooting at you when you look at your watch, not because you paused the game, but because they're too busy jamming to this blazing track.
I’d agree. OR, (which in my opinion is even sicker), he was a big fan of Three Six; their high hat/bass drum patterns created an entire different genre of rap at the time. Either way, pristine composition!
I used to hate it when I'll be called for dinner, come back an hour completely forgotten what I'm doing. Then I realise I'm surrounded by multiple guys shooting at me and I die.
No producer today can touch this. This shit goes so hard. Back in my college dorm I had computer subs hooked up to the TV and I remember sitting there like damn, let’s not unpause it for a minute
This beat could easily be adapted into the movies. Imagine Bond in his suit just casually walking through a packed casino trying to intercept his target covertly.
The fact they play this music at local senators hockey games here in ottawa when they challenge a call or the refs have to review a play/decision is awesome
I used to play this game when I was a kid. Never even crossed my mind that the pause menu music would one day be relevant in the future because of it’s “ahead of it’s time” type of beat.

Another thing a lot of people don't realize is Grant wasn't working with anything remotely recognizable to most people. Composing video game music back then was extremely difficult, I don't even think he could play it back immediately in the beginning and it required him to compile something to run it on the N64.
It has been so damn long since I’ve played this game, I’ve forgotten all the soundtracks. And then I heard this on tik tok or insta or something the other day and thought it was a remix…. This is so beyond its time🔥
@@zCrytekzHD Not sure if you said that because you already knew, but DJ Paul actually did make it into a beat: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F58L28C2By8.html
i didn't even have the ability to appreciate this when i was young... It's crazy that this isn't edited, this isn't someone adding a beat to it etc this IS the ORIGINAL version
This made me tear up... took me back to a time when our extended family were so close. I always looked up to my older brothers and cousins wanting to play. Late nights playing multi-player in a carefree world...not realizing how drastic times will change. Rip to my older brother... now my son is looking forward to this coming out on switch online. Makes me proud that he's developed to a level that he's good in video games...and is able to beat me...
Lovely post mate. Many of us share those memories of being so much closer to loved ones when we were young teenages playing this game... now most of us are in our early 40s and life is a hell of a lot more of a drag.
@Jona I actually really enjoy them making it wrist mounted for some reason idk. It makes more sense for it to be able to keep track of your health and whatnot
I was born in 2000 I remember being 4 years old spending the night at my aunties watching my older cousin play this on the Nintendo 64 and soon as my aunty would make us lunch he would pause the game and I couldn’t leave the room for a good minute cuz I was just mesmerized by this tune im so happy I found it again 😭😭😭😭❤️
Graeme Norgate, Grant Kirkhope & Robin Beanland who all also went on to make the Perfect Dark Ost which also has some gnarly shit on it m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8u7MRJi2UGg.html
