hey which version of project 64 did you use? Is there a guide for install? I got Perfect Dark and GoldenEye working with gyro using 1964 emulator using this tutorial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--Wq0NQNfk1M.html. However I can't get it to work with a gyro compatible controller such as a Switch pro controller. Your method might be better in that regard.
I eventually got the gyro working on the Switch Pro Controller using the 1964 emulator using the setup in the link above. I simply needed to remap the Pro controller buttons to their steamdeck equivalent in steams controls config menu. I'll refine the edited control layout a bit and share on the steam community control layouts in case anyone else wants to do the same.
