Goldfield, Nevada Town Tour

I became oddly enamored with this town on a couple of trips.

For those who plan to travel, Dusty Fenders is now Dinky Diner and HAS NOT had any gas for years. Until the new truck stop opens there is gas in Tonopah or Beatty!

Great video, very detailed and informative. I drove from reno to vegas and passed thru a few towns like goldfield and never thought any of them had anything interesting to explore, I thought their main source of income was speeding tickets because of the always changing speed limits. thanks for the video.

There is nothing left of it. That is fairly typical. I am an old man and I was all over Nv Ghost towns in the 50s thru early 70s, before all the increases of people with their motercycles . Bodie is the best youll see in cali or nv,but there were others. Virginia city is the closest currently well occupied one,but a little to commercialized and touristy,but youve got to see VC and Bodie. Half the fun is just getting there and imaging how it was and seeing some of it. Google before you go to any old mining town so you can see what they were really like in their heyday.

I love this place

Verizon was the only cell service we had when we were there in 2012. My att phone had nothing, same with most phones out there. Great video by the way! The picture quality and information. I can't wait to go back!!!

I remember as a little girl we would drive from Ca to Goldfield and stay in a house my grandparents owned for years.Grandpa was an attorney and wanted to run for Attorney General so they bought that house I believe...He did not win and he went back to CA to continue with his business there. I am not sure why they kept it when grandpa moved from NV to CA but so glad he did. It was very old back then in the late 60s early 70s. It was next to the "general store" which I remember they had lama's on the side of the store. My brothers and I used to hike up the small mountain behind the house. One day I went to school there. I remember maybe 15 kids grade k-12. Very interesting. I also remember donkey races in another town close by lol...Very different than living in CA. Last time I went through there was about 15 years ago, my grandparent's house was still (barely) standing and the man who owned it let my husband take a picture with my kids.

Goldfield is a town filled with broken down old vehicles, old mobile homes in disrepair and a bunch of trash. It's a shame that the residents don't take better care of the place. We just drove through a few days ago and couldn't believe the mess. There are cool things around Goldfield, it's the people that have made this place look like a dump however. Appears that the businesses are barely hanging on...

If you run out of gas in Goldfield, thinking there was one there...there isn't....there is a guy who sells 5 gals of gas... a couple of blocks North on the highway from the Courthouse..turn right onto the street and he is on the right - you just have to look. He saved our life (almost literally...it was in August) by selling us gas so we could get to Tonopah, NV (25 miles North on Hwy 95) and fill up.

I know that place by ghost adventures!

Informative video but the overwhelming amount of pop-up/inset still boxes and video transitions make it difficult to watch. Dissolve and cut, fade in and out... it's all you need. The video and scenery speak for themselves.

And who was largely responsible for resurrecting Goldfield.. thought so? Hint, the man owned the 2nd oldest saloon in Nevada. Typical of your so called "tours".
