Lady Gaga is the result of awesome artist like this putting themselves out there for years to prove to managers and the industry this type of music can work. Lady Gaga is talented but surely many similar artists have done similar things before. Luckily for us we live in 21st century so we can watch it all together online! :)
6 years late, but I agree. I was a HUGE fan, then Seventh Tree came out and I moved on because I didn't care for it at the time. I've been revisiting the stuff I loved originally and discovering all the wonderful things the duo has done since (including Seventh Tree, what was wrong with me?). They are SO good.
There are only a handful of artists that seems like they are tapping my brain to make sure they have offered up the album of my dreams. And yup, Goldfrapp are doing it again and again. *grovels*

Definitely one of my favorites Goldfrapp´s songs. I don´t need to see the video to enjoy it and to have a great time listening this masterpiece. But the video is sooooooooooooo wonderful. The sarcasm of the thrash behind her and the glamorous dresses. I think is something like make laugh of the superficiality of our times. I love Allison´s voice in every song. Great song, for dancing, travelling, jogging or, of course, watch Allison. Goldfrapp, WE SALUTE YOU!!!

@@pownbnull Well, she's kinda vague in interviews about her work, which is smart because you could read her many different ways...but in religious symbolism I recall a white horse, the one the savior would ride on, and it seems like she mixed that idea up with cheap disco and, rather than sell the life as something fabulous everyone wants she sells it to us as it really is. That, and a white leather platform stiletto, is fabulous and I can't look away, I just love this woman's style.

In truth, i dont even know who Goldfrapp is, and i definitely don't find anything weird about having relationships with people of the same sex. Plus i was only joking in the first place. Although here in Thailand you do see most Ladyboys look better than the girls and even the ladies admit it, so long sexy legs are not restricted to women
I have loved Goldfrapp from my fist listen of Felt Mountain and Alison is/has always been an amazing shapeshifter each video , each album a completely different direction visually (a bit like David Bowie) I hope she keeps doing what she does and I wish her the best of success ! LOL😊

I remember this song from when I was a kid, I was still in School then when this song came out. Such an amazing song really love the wavyness and how it sounds. 😄😀. I think this is by far the best song I have ever heard. 😄😀.
I recall going to a store in Portland to buy a physical copy of this album the day it was released. I was so excited. Yet somehow, despite listening to it A LOT back then, I'd forgotten about Fly Me Away until a week ago. I don't know how! Now, I'm living back where I was born (Hawai'i) and the song is still wonderful but it also makes me sad and wistful. Jumping on a plane, on a whim, to see someone isn't just something I can do anymore, and I don't expect to be able to (or at least be able to do safely) for a long time.
So I'm at an estate sale a couple days back and I pluck out Goldfrapp Ride a White Horse Single CD. I thought awesome... der ummm is this the song with lyrics that go something like..."well if you wanna ride, then ride the white horse from the 80s"? Nope. I ended up buying all 1,000 CDs, and have about a dozen Goldfrapp CDs. Now I can't stop listening to their music.
