@davidsunhun Electrical issues, my 83 scirocco does the same thing. One wire gauges and the engine is more than likely improperly grounded.

The tach was designed to work with an 4cylinder engine not an 6cylinder engine ,this is the best it gets with the resistor trick..

@johnnyXsniper a standard 2.0 16 mk1 golf will do 135mph+ You can buy one for about £1500. Mine has minor mods (exhaust, cams, modified o2j gearbox) and it does 140+ (Have to record with a gps speedo as mk1 speedo stops at 120 haha). It only cost me £2k

und warum zerreisst es den kleinen 500kg golf in einzelteile(stellt euch mal vor ,was da für ne wucht dahinter ist) so ein 1er golf ist doch für soeinen motor nicht ausgelegt.....
