Your channel is by far the best resource for getting good information about home golf simulators. Great work! I recently got a Bushnell Launch Pro and rely on your channel a lot. In this video, you are running a USB cable from GC3 to the computer. Is that the preferred way? Why not just use wifi?
Thanks! I'm actually using GCQuad but yes USB and works the same way with GC3. I prefer it this way for either because like any wifi device there of course could change of interference etc so why not just do usb for solid connection. It's just easy ya know. Thanks for watching!!
How deep is the enclosure from the back bracket to the front of the frame? How wide is the frame, the website shows 12’ but is that how much room is needed or how wide the frame is?
Golf is now in a very unique spot in history, The Technology exists to have Simulated Golf courses in every school worldwide. The School just needs a 12 x 12 x 12 room and a Full Swing Golf Monitor, or GCQuad, or a Trackman or any of the other half dozen golf simulators that are on the market now, that are getting cheaper and better every year. I can only imagine how that would grow the game of golf… it could be a major advantage for mining Golf Talent, from elementary school all the way up to high school and even at the college level. It would be wonderful if we had a collaboration between the PGA / LIV Golf, major corporations like IBM, and other Golf Lovers to help create and fund the initiative to get golf in every school district or .... Every School. We have the technology to do this now. Imagine if during gym class you take the kids to the simulator, two or three at a time, have them hit 10 to 12 golf balls, and see who naturally can hit the sweet spot, who naturally has very good distance, etc. You could identify natural golf talent at a early age, just like we do with other sports like basketball, football etc. I could also imagine that golf club companies like Titleist, Cobra, Mizuno, etc. might want to say that the school district uses our clubs, it can produce the same kind of buzz and passion that happen with basketball shoes back in the late 70s, 80's and 90s. We could also introduce Golf to Young people in countries that don’t have access to golf courses and truly begin to make golf even more of a global sport. Using all the advantages of golf simulators to Introduce Golf to the nations that don’t have the funding or land to build world class golf courses.
If I had this set up, I would have to add another carpet black out panel enclosure section in front of the other one to be safe. With my luck, I would probably hit that ceiling light that is right above. Lol.
There are plenty of options out there like that. You can do curtains etc. I will say it would take a big miss to be outside the enclosure, but if you wanted to be extra safe it would be an easy ad. Thanks for watching
Enclosure is pretty decent. Screen is thin like I showed. It’s a value setup ya know. But I think if you take care of it, you should only need to replace the screen as long as you’re not tearing down often, etc..
Great review. Could that projector be ceiling mounted? Also wondering if you have done a review of lighting(bulbs, fixtures, placement within the sim) that I could refer to. If so where in the GSV library?
Absolutely you can mount it. It would be about 13' back of the screen and has vertical shift etc so easily ceiling mounted. Just super easy to do this too if you want a potable solution etc. I have not done a lighting video but my favorite for sure is the Chauvet eve 20 video quality led light. I might need to do a video on it!
Love watching your Contant. I ordered my own golf simulator from foresight. However, I’m having difficulty connecting the gaming PC and the projector so it can project onto the hitting screen. I’m having real difficulty getting anybody to help me out I’ve got all the necessary components. I bought the birdie plus package from them so I have everything we need. I just don’t know how to connect it. Are you able to help me?
I have this exact Simulator, i just had it set up, and have the same thing around the hitting mat. I would love to cover that area with carpet but no one seems to know how to do that. DO you have any ideas?
@@GolfSimulatorVideos I apologize, i will try to be more specific. I have the same set up, I dont like how there is no carpet on the surrounding edges, i would like it to be all leveled and no gaps anywhere, i really like your set up in the basement, that is what i am looking for as well. How can i accomplish that, i have contacted some carpet companies but nobody seems to know how to accomplish that look...hope this is more clear!
@@duricmirza so you could easily just put down a few layers of carpet padding as needed then buy a roll of turf from lowes. They carry SynLawn putting turf now.
Hi I love the content. I will be building a golf simulator in a room that will flex from simulator, to study, to gym, etc. To maximize the use of the space, I want to build a collapsible simulator. Fold up the enclosure, pull up the mats, etc. Would love to collapse this into 18-24”. I’ve seen something like this on Murphy’s golf simulator, but its not exactly what I am looking for. Do you have any ideas for this or know of any company that would customize this? Thanks Ed
I just purchased a GC Quad and would love if you could help me to determine what graphics card I will need to run FSX Play at 4k. I can't seem to find this info out. Would greatly appreciate your help. TY!
How do you allign your feet , shoulders , club ? I keep having trouble with that . I've got a major offset to the right , the tee is a lot to the right and I keep pulling my shots time and time again. used stickers , allignment sticks , ... but the vsual aid is so different when I use wedge or driver the stickers appear to be in a different spot (Don't know if I make it clear enough) or that allignment stick looks to point more right or left when using short / long clubs . It's driving ( pun not intended ) me insane
I guess it's just natural lineup for me. The GCQUAD of course is square to target and the aiming line on screen is as well. I just setup look at the screen just like outside and adjust as necessary. Maybe just some more time and you will feel more confident? Might just take some time to get used to the offset feeling. Thanks for watching!
It did haha. I grabbed another and moved on the best I could lol. I try to do all of these uncut so tried my best to find it haha. I think if I tighten the bungee at the bottom a little more it will prevent that from happening. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video! Like the way the ball stops right at the mat, no risk from bounce back. Does the pc come pre-loaded with the foresight software? Didn’t catch that
Only thing I don’t like is why they would follow the ball So closely and you don’t get to see in the space of the golf Course where it’s travelling. Only once it has landed you get to see
You can choose your camera view. I actually prefer the Chase/Exact setting. There are many you can choose from even including just watching it from behind etc. Thanks for watching!
What’s the depth of the frame and is this something if placed ins garage that you could keep the frame up and just pull carpet and pad/computer to the side when not using?
@@GolfSimulatorVideos yes i get that and your site is beyond the best i just put one together and it had no info on anything panel placement or the order took way more than two hours. I was just curious if it is normal for the company to sell the kit without and guidance
Awesome review. On the foresight website it states the back of the screen to the end of the hitting mat is 16 feet. Is that right? It looks like its quite a bit shorter than that but its hard to tell from the angles
Thank you! Yeah I think it is shorter like 14-15'. I can measure and report back. But it makes sense they would state that as a necessary room needed to swing the club back and have buffer behind the screen. If someone tried to squeeze it in a 16' space there could be potential issues if that makes sense. I appreciate you watching!
Thank you! So the way that the mesh back attached you really don't have to mess with tension at all. What you see here is just how they tell you to hang it. I found the bounce back limited as you can see in the video. I appreciate you watching 🍻
That bounce back looks perfect. The ball rolls back and stops at the lip of the matt that is a bit higher. You don't even have to chase it. That is nice.
my only question would be, wedge shots are going to give that ceiling a few hits/issues being that far from the screen. do you plan to add any overhead baffles or netting to help with the wedge shots? any suggestions?
I think that it would take a pretty high launch to get one to fly over, not saying you couldn’t do it. If you play on high launch you could easily just put up a catch net like you were saying. Thanks for watching!
i have a similar setup and hit at the same mark you do, 10 ft. i find that 56 and 60 wedges i have to move forward atleast a foot as sometimes shots can strike my ceiling. consider doing a video on some kind of netting or suggestions for that problem that some of us encounter. thanks for the videos. you do a great job
Just purchased a gc3 and computer through foresight. I’m guessing that the computer in this video would be the same as the one I’ll be receiving. If so how does the 1660 ti run with fsx play? Seems like that’s not enough
It's running FSX play smooth for me as you can see. I think since it only is a single display (projector) at 1920x1200 it is fine. I'm sure it would struggle at 4K.
The foresight website shows you need about 16ft from screen to the back of the hitting mat. What was the distance on your set up? It looks much shorter than 16ft.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos sorry I meant the projector to the screen ?? im that nuisance from the email last night just that fits screen really well and clealry works offset and with the fsx software
@@GolfSimulatorVideos yes thats it offset on the right great video anyone looking at that setup won’t be disappointed i can have it around 12-13’ this might be the one 🙏
I don't think I've had them long enough to really say. Both have some strengths and weaknesses but are very comparable. I talk about thinks like the black out curtain or screen thickness. Carls is a deeper enclosure, SIAB has little more refined material. King of goes to personal preference on many things. Thanks for watching!
Hey awesome review. How would u use the simulator for a lefty? Would u have to move the gc3 to the opposite side? I wanna get one but I have friends who r right and I'm a lefty. And I'd hate to move the gc3 back n forth for every shot. Any suggestions hoe to use it for both hand?
@@abudesai3762 No then self level etc., just need to be sure it is square which is very easy just using a pieces of tape on the mat so you can just set it in place each time. Many do this and it is not so bad since you can be wireless with no cables.
It is 8' 11" tall. I think it would be tough to get it assembled with 9ft. I know people have done it but not sure exactly how. I'm assuming most have slid it in after assembly.
Based on my experience with 10ft ball to screen and this height I would expect it to hit the angled carpet material above which is an absorbing material. I can do some more testing and report back too. Thanks for watching!
Haha. Sorry I find a big drop off if I don’t make the videos about 15 min or less so I can’t have a super long build section. They have a slow assembly video they send you when you buy it :). Thanks for watching
