Also guess who took the crown from armada. You guessed it. Hbox. Not to mention even armada was tired of the melee community to a point. Seeing as he retired and moved on to the newer game. If you want to argue that then you can go back further. Where the toxic melee community ostracized ken. The original king of smash. Because if you wanna bring up past competitors why not go back further right. Melee has a history of hating the best player. And being trashy. Just natural the same trashy people repeat their past.
this is the best i’ve *ever* seen Axe play. everything was on point. idc if there’s some outside factors with Ultimate-related rust on some top talent, and Hbox maybe being demoralized from Pound, etc. Axe still played out of his mind to get 2nd
CRTs have like almost 0 input lag compared to general modern LCD Displays, therefore CRTs provide responsive competitive play without any lag when you press a button

I'm not sure we've EVER seen better play out of Axe. Yes, there are sets that he has taken in a more dominant fashion but those weren't over an opponent like Leffen. Leffen was trying hard but Axe was just flat out outplaying him and punishing his lack of match up experience. Congrats Axe
What? A loser finals? And axe ended up facing mango in the finals? Why couldn't two people who never lost face each other in the finals? Can someone explain to me this tournament format?
It's a double elimination tournament. It's a little complicated. You have to lose twice to go home. The two undefeated players meet in winner's finals, the two players with 1 loss meet in loser's finals (one of them being the loser of the winner's finals set) and the winner of that set plays the undefeated player in grand finals (which is why they need to beat the undefeated player twice). If it was single elimination there wouldnt be a loser's bracket and winner's finals would be grand finals
