I thought no other show could possibly reach the heights of Breaking Bad, The Wire and The Sopranos but I enjoyed each and every minute of this series. My friend and I had a special watching session of the Finale last night (where we predicted either both would die or both would survive) and although we weren't crazy about how things were executed for the finale, it doesn't change the way we feel about the show. I'm so glad I paid attention to all the articles in the press 3-4 years ago about this new Italian mafia series called Gomorrah.
Spot on mate, my sentiments exatcly. I have never felt such character attachment since Sopranos, and finale left me completely numb and sad. Brilliant show, definitely up there with The Sopranos in tier S. The Wire, BB, Fargo tier A IMO but amazing series nevertheless.
Same thing for me, had Breaking Bad on the first place, then this came.. just watched the first episode out of curiosity/boredom.. never heard anything about it before and absolutely loved it! Gomorrah numero uno! Hell I even wanted to have the same sunglasses as Ciro and after searching for such a long time I found and bought them, just as a collectors item and memory :P

Yo todavía no pude ver la 5ta temporada! Desde que mire la película del Inmortal que quede re manija para ver la vuelta de Ciro, y todavía no pude verla!
I have no idea what this is but I was so consumed by this video that I really feel as though I just watched an entire lifetime of character in just 5 minutes. I know there's probably much more to the stories of each character but I was actually shocked to see them both die at the end, yet still with the quote that it's always just to two of them, I felt the power of it with the imagery. Amazing work and now I have to go watch this somewhere.

Mi unisco al coro aggiungendo questa considerazione: sei riuscito a riportare in un video i grandi insegnamenti di Gomorra: -la guerra non ha mai un vero vincitore e alla fine uccide sempre tutti -l'amore tra amici non passa mai al contrario di quello tra partner -il potere e i soldi mettono tutti contro, non importa da quali basi parte il rapporto
Absolute masterpiece,the anti-heroes got exactly what they deserved in the end,anyone who wants to deal drugs should watch this,it doesn’t get more real than this,no glory in drugs,like most Hollywood made series that glorify the trade.
@@reniisgod……Agree, Genna was power hungry and didn’t give a shit about anyone but himself, Ciro was a little different then Genna but by not much, he was a stone cold killer himself but at the end, they both deserved what was coming to them!
I finally finished seeing all 5 Seasons on the weekend’s and I gotta say it was fantastic watching every episode. But I will say this, big difference between the Camorra clans and the American Mafia, like night and day!
Best mafia series ever with all the ingredients to make it thee greatest. This is a subtitled series hence many find reasons .. Trust, you want mafia business with great acting, action, emotion the dramas even strong onions, Gomorrah is number 1💥💥 This is the series to binge 🇬🇧

Love this series. I’ve felt they killed off too many good characters, too soon. They should of played em out a lil longer, and possibly gotten a couple more seasons out of this series. Wished it would of gone to at least 7 seasons.
And that’s exactly the point. These amazing characters. Real people. In this life, they are short lived. This whole show is an entertaining, beautiful tragedy that emphasizes humanity in a part of the world where life has you in the corner and the only thing left for you to do is become a better product of your already shit environment. Life often doesn’t last long here
As an Italian, I love this series and I must say that it is one of the best, as well as one of the few, that talks about the mafia (in this case, Neapolitan mafia) But let me tell you this is the small fishes mafia. First of all, there are 3 very different types of mafia: Cosa Nostra (Sicilian mafia), Camorra (Neapolitan mafia) 'Ndrangheta (Calabrian Mafia, currently the most powerful in the world, present in many states outside Italy). The Neapolitan mafia is that of Gomorrah, but in my opinion they are small fish who are fighting each other for some district of Naples. Cosa Nostra was the bloodiest and most powerful mafia from the 1960s to 2000, killing heads of state, ministers, magistrates, policemen, innocent civilians. They were on the verge of terrorism, with attacks and bombs for a war of power against the Italian State. He had woven relations with politics to the point of having a mafia President of the Republic (Andreotti) and President of the Council (Berlusconi). Relationships so dangerous and high-level that they never ended and continue today, that they have profoundly marked Italy. Cosa Nostra has always won against the Italian state. They had on their side ministers in charge, the P2 (Masonic lodge), presidents, deviant secret services and even today many old mafia men are still fugitives and command Italy through the corrupt politicians we have (almost all of them). In my opinion, the Cosa Nostra is the most interesting mafia of all and the one that has reached the top. There is a TV series called "Corleone" which talks about Totò Riina, the man who killed all the bosses of Cosa Nostra, becoming the boss of the bosses, the boss of the Cosa Nostra. I recommend it. The 'Ndrangheta, on the other hand, is today the most powerful because it controls world drug trafficking, has contacts with Mexican cartels and with unsuspected men of power. Little is known about them, and this is their strength. They do not have a single leader, but their organization is more similar to that of the terrorist cells. That is why it is difficult to stop it. Now it is present all over the world, it is no longer just Italian. There is a TV series from the same creators of Gomorrah that talks about it, it's called ZeroZeroZero. As you can understand, as beautiful as Gomorrah The series is, this is the mafia of small fishes, bordering on crime. So you non-Italians, don't believe this is the real mafia. This is the Mafia of Naples, and of all, it is the weakest and most disorganized.
Dire che cosa nostra ha sempre vinto è un po' una minchiata, dopo la morte di falcone e borsellino, lo stato l'ha de facto eliminata, tutti i principali boss sono stati arrestati ed oggi conta poco o nulla, la camorra ha avuto un espansione importante che però è stata rallentata dalle guerre interne che vengono narrate in gomorra, ma ha comunque creato traffici in tutto il mondo, definirla pesce piccolo è riduttivo. La ndrangheta ha la "fortuna" di essere stata "scoperta" solo di recente ed è stata inserita all'interno della lista delle mafie italiane solo nel 2004, e da quel momento c'è, da parte delle forze dell'ordine una guerra serrata anche alla ndrangheta.

Pitbull didn't die. You can see he's driving the boat that'll take Azzura and Pietro Jr. to safety. Great ending, I think Ciro changed his mind in a split second once the bullets started flying and decided to help Gennaro's family instead of killing them on the spot. He wanted Genna to feel the same pain of losing a wife and a kid, so they'd be equal and "even", but his instinct showed he still loves him more than he hates him.
Amazing tribute, love this serie so much. In my opinion, the best serie so far. This serie made me bought the sunglasses Ciro wearing in season-2, love those glasses.

Secondigliano would be finished as its own force because of the genny character in my opinion. Eliminating the levante patriarchy and matriarchy was one of the few positive things he did. At the end of the 5 seasons i think ciro killing genny like he did imma and pietro would have been fitting. ciro came from nothing and was a killer of killers.
