I don't think he's bougie, neither Ikesha. I think what sets them apart is the culture. New York & Mississippi are very different. Of course there's going to be a difference when they're all together, doesn't mean that they're bougie.

Exactly! He wasn't afraid of losing his wife when he stepped out and impregnated another women. I believe he's with her for the wrong reasons, she's his security blanket. She needs to let him go and find another man who's going to really love her. She accepted him back so easily, he's going to do her wrong again. He's just going to be more sneaky about it next time.

I don't know why highfalutin Black northerners pretend that Mississippians speak some defunct foreign language like Latin or Biblical Hebrew. ALL of these Black northerners' families are rooted in the South (unless they are from immigrant families). Moreover, Black Northerners have their share of slang, localisms, etc., too. They come down here and act all obtuse and pretentiously formal. These guys indeed have thick southern accents, but they aren't too thick to understand. Even the idioms they speak aren't anything too hard for a culturally open-minded person to understand. When JJ said, "It's okay to read the menu as long as you don't order", that could NOT have been too hard for a moderately intelligent person to comprehend in the context of a conversation about adultery. It's self-explanatory.

Aikesha's husband was trying to get an idea as to the culture of Mississippi, he asked the guys but they were disinterested in his topic of discussion. They were dismissive towards him. They all only wanted to talk about infidelity, and extra marital behavior. I think this group of men may not be the group for Ikesha and her husband. I see the both of them on "The Huntsville show". That group would've been more of a fit for them. These men are not only country but they seem immature in a sense. Just my opinion.....
