Her getting up my her guilt speaking; the fact that she considered their experiences as attacking white people says a lot. I think she was just trying to say that colorism doesn't exclude her from racism. I agree with you though because I don't think she gets how much light skinned black people are seen as more palatable for marketing to a wide range of people. It's like they use light skinned or racially ambiguous black people to include black people without having to say they truly don't want us.

Black spaces need to be black spaces, especially given how black people are and have been excluded from places that profoundly affect how we experience life. The fact that the brunch turned into a triage to wipe Kaylon's tears is utterly ridiculous. She shouldn't have been there to begin with ... Period. This was about black women's empowerment - Kaylon has no role in that. And if she decided to be there, don't personalize the discussion, be quiet, and learn. That's exactly what I do whenever I'm in the space of an oppressed group as a person with privilege.

Marie is the root of these unsuccessful brunches every-time i watch this show. Why do her best friend always take up for her when she is dead wrong. Now the lady that sell bundles was not there. (but i knew she was going to start stuff) Next she tried to start something with the dentist lady.(when all she did was try to be nice and speak to you)she didn't fall for it. Next it was the (white) lady that was crying. Marie talking about I wanted to hear the announcement. This ain`t your event boo boo. Clearly the whole table is having a convo. Just because you are not center of the convo, now you don`t want to talk about it. If you was so supportive of your friend and wanted her to have a successful event. You would have sat in your seat and waited for the announcements. So let`s be for real you may be jealous of her or you just can not walk away from conflict and control your behavior.

Kaylon pissed me off and I'm not usually here for Marie but I was definitely team Marie. No this woman did not start her yt lady tears when hearing the truth of our experiences! Like if you felt attacked then maybe it's because you share some guilt of being someone who may have caused a black woman to feel away. Then Antoinette sat there and coddled her! Wiping her tears for her! Girl please! please understand this is the dynamic in the south. this is how 98% of interactions are here. I’m glad they show how it is in the country. this isn’t an isolated incident, it’s how it is. Hell scarlett o hara love Mammie, but they wasn’t family or friends. this is actually exactly why they ban CRT because of this exact dynamic. wheww. i was watching this on tv and came to YT to say this🤦🏾‍♀️

To the person who said Tambra is more fair skin than Antoinette…When Tambra wears makeup that matches her skin tone, she’s a light caramel complexion, not fair skin! Look at previous photos of her without the much lighter MAC makeup and you’ll see that.

Marie had every right to check Kaylon who made the brunch all about her. That is the problem with us, we like to sugar coat things and coddle people like Kaylon who act out when their feathers are ruffled. Kaylon may not talk badly about us, but I’m sure she cannot speak for her everyone. Again, it was not about her, but of course she made it about her. Since she wanted to make the conversation all about Kaylon, then if the shoe fits, lace that B up and wear it for those who are like that. I am in agreement with Marie on this one. They shouldn’t have to stop their brunch to cater to her feelings when what they were discussing obviously had nothing to do with her. It was totally about their experiences in general. Again, I do not like how she said Marie is a nobody and for anyone who thought that was okay, you too are the problem with why there is no togetherness among us!

@@LaCoraStephens the community definitely could’ve came together to at least keep the outside of the building presentable or even came together to begin the process of buy out. Maybe adding the word “SOME” landmarks and buildings will make you feel better! Oh and educate me I’d love to learn honestly. I’m aware that back in the day there was probably some systemic racism & injustice that participated but again our people can do something to keep these buildings looking better than a crack house

I think it’s terrible people whom are different skin colour are still being bullied and sneered at .im white I know coloured people I would never dream of bringing any of them down .and tell you what that’s why they always work hard and succeed because they have being getting pointed at al there life’s .and all they do is prove how hard working a genuine people they are just like any other person .it is terrible even in this day and age they go through so much hurt from what even all there great great grandparents went through .just think before you speak people it can be very hurtful to another person .❤

Its not about being a men. Being a responsible human being is challenging because there are so many people that wakes up daily ready to try you at anytime of the day. Especially them ones who just because their day is going horribly then they have to make everybody feel how they are feeling.
