When watching these "X months review" I would like to hear, what really changed within this time. What privat experience someone did, maybe in a vacation etc. Instead I just get more or less same information as in a normal review video when a phone has launched 😴
How come you dont talk about how the camera performs on social media? Because that’s why most people buy these phones with great cameras to put it on social media.
re-review. I doubt alot of people making these videos have been using these phones daily like a consumer would for the video to be that objective anyway
Good tips for saving battery early in the video but one you maybe missed is Settings > Display > Dark mode. An OLED screen is going to draw much less power when displaying white text on a black background (most of the screen switched off) than when displaying black text on a white background (most of the display on full brightness). It's also a lot easier on the eyes...
Had the 13 Max Pro for a bit currently have the S22 Ultra, honestly these phones have gotten to the point where there really isn't a wrong way to go, but I prefer the s22 ultra because that telephoto is way more practical than people make it out to be, the S-Pen comes in handy even for people less inclinced to use it and even multitasking feels more practical with these phones. IPhones battery life is great and admittedly the videos are better but I honestly think thats where the objective pros end for the iphone
I have both, s22 ultra battery is awful (exynos) iPhone is epic, but admittedly the s22 ultra zoom is way underrated. It’s just a shame they can’t get the battery on par with the iPhone!
@@robhewitt5640 I've got the snapdragon model and use it at 1440p 120hz and honestly I don't really have huge issues with the battery and feel like it's more so the 13 pro max is just really AMAZING more so than the S22 ultra has bad battery life. Also last longterm phone was the LGV60 so the efficiency was good enough for me not to be bothered. With the better optimization of apps and decent hardware this time around though I am looking forward to what else samsung comes up with and am also still in the apple ecosystem so if they end up sucking I'll just switch back lol
How are your experiences with some lags on the 22 ultra? I tried 7 differernt ones in the store today, all had minor lags, especially on youtube but other apps also...the iphone 13 pro was soooo much smoother...can you confirm?
Having used an iPhone since the 4, it took me a while to adjust to Android. I've had the S22U for over a month now and I really enjoy it. The feature I love the most is being able to quick press the power button twice to go right into shooting a video or taking a picture. 1 year olds move quick, so this has allowed me to capture some great moments. (I know you can turn on the lock screen and swipe to go into the camera on an iPhone, but that quick press without even looking at my phone is pretty clutch on the S22U).
How was this video different from your initial review video? I want to know how well this phone has held up in six months - not a rehash of specs. What did Samsung improve? Has battery life been better? What's it like taking this phone on vacation?
How come you dont talk about how the camera performs on social media? Because that’s why most people buy these phones with great cameras to put it on social media.
Great review! I switched to the s22 recently and I love it! One thing I really love by Samsung are the headphones! They are amazing and never fall out of my ears like other headphones.
Woee I didn't even know about that slow motion as well the the front and face facing recording at the same time both really cool features man I don't understand why that's not talked about enough because that is awesome awesome
Also! Get a popsocket! It helps so much. You can hold it in your hand and navigate easily. And you wont ever drop it. That said- this is the best phone Ive ever had.
Good video! I love my S22 Ultra!! Especially those cameras!! Not gonna replace my EOS R and L glass but still impressive!! BTW, I've seen some videos and comments where some have stated that the cameras have plastic lenses. From what learned from my research that is false. They are glass. I would assume this is true for any high end phone. iPhones too of course. What are your thoughts on the lens subject?
Yeaaahhhh... Wow.. If you find ANY review saying that I would permanently pay NO attention to that writer/review company. That is a very amateur mistake, as EVEN A FOOL can tell they are glass lol If you watch some of the "Durability tests" on the phone they legit BEAT THE CRAP out of the phone, even intentionally trying to BREAK IT IN HALF by bending it, on purpose lol - although a bit excessive - the s22 did not scratch without some serious effort. So if you put it in a case it will be perfect for years and even without it will probably stay good if you aren't dropping in the road
I've owned the S22 Ultra since launch and have a few thoughts. From the start, I enabled the battery saver so it does not charge past 85%. This has worked well for me except lately I find the phone draining much faster than it used to. The battery app has not been helpful in determining what might be the cause of this drain issue but it could be a rogue app. Second, a frustration of mine from the start is the phone not waking up when I pick it up or take it out of my pocket. The feature is turned on but it is not very sensitive and often wakes up late if it wakes at all. My Pixel is great at this and so is the iPhone. My last issue is the face unlock, which is very unpredictable and frankly annoys me 50% of the time when it fails to work. The fingerprint sensor does not like screen protectors at all and even though I use a high quality branded one, the ability to read my prints are a mixed bag and frequently fails while trying to authenticate. Don't get me wrong, I love the phone and the camera is fantastic. There's far more that is great about the Ultra than bad but I wish Samsung could address these issues sooner than later if they can at all.
@@WaveRider1989 Pixel 2! That's an impressive amount of time to own a phone. Any of the S22 series will be a very nice upgrade. The Ultra is fantastic but the S22+ might be a good mid-tier alternative that'll save you some money and still be a great phone. Of course, if you are really lokking for something unique, the Flip 4 is a fun device too.
@@CF542 thanks man. I think 4 years is not long time to own phones though. I mean my pixel still works well for what I do but it's showing some shortcomings that can use an upgrade but until recently my phone usage wasn't that much
Love this video very much. I have both s22ultra and iPhone 13pro max I always go back to the S22U despite the battery life being less than the iPhone. It's just a very well rounded phone with great features and nooks and crannies to try out. Love it.
One thing I really admire about this channel is the fact that you cover every single aspect in your review. I rarely see other reviewers mentioning the speakers for instance or even the ecosystem. This is just such a holistic analysis of the S22 Ultra. Great job 👍
Extra Brightness, isn't max brightness, only more than your regular manual max. Maximum brightness can only be achieved with Auto, and then it's segmented, only text or certain elements will max to the 1700nits. I like how that case has a window in it for the AOD. nice.
What would have been great is to also talk about some of the common smart phone issues such as phone slowing down over time, memory filling up with garbage, bloatware affecting the phone, any battery issues. Or lack of these issues. This helps give perspective on some of the long term problems. Even if there were issues were they solved?
The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 5,000 mAh battery and the iPhone 13 Pro Max a smaller 4,352mAh, but the iPhone 13 Pro Max does seem to last longer in most tests. Both should get you well into a second day of average use but if battery life is a major issue for you the Pro Max seems to come out better. The cost of the S22 Ultra is 1200 and the iPhone is 1000 so I prefer the iPhone 13 Pro Max for the Price The iPhone 13 Pro Max has on the back a 12MP main 12MP ultrawide and a 12MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. On the front it opts for a 12MP With the S22 Ultra, you're getting a more megapixels, a larger sensor which should capture more light and an additional 10x zoom so I prefer the S22 Ultra To be honest I would rather go with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra then the iPhone 13 Pro Max
I've been using my Samsung s22 for 2 years now and nothing has changed! Maybe I'm not a pro user but I see no changes at all while using it. The phone is still fast, no lags.
Did you just say you have been using s22 for 2 years now? S 22 was launched in February this year, meaning the phone is not even up to a year. Do you guys even read your comments b4 posting?
Had a s22 ultra. Wonderful phone, but went back to the s21 ultra. Like the design better and the screen is a bit flatter too. Either phone is a beast though
We love our unlocked S22 Ultra's except for one issue. On At&T, the navigation is really bad compared to our carrier-locked IPhone 13's. The Google voice navigation cuts out really bad. Goggle Assistant is horribly slow when driving. AT&T says it's because our unlocked phones are not optimized for their network. Maybe poor antennas? Otherwise, the S22 Ultra's are great devices.
It must be some bullshit... There is no carrier locking in any country other than USA( THAT I KNOW OF), and I'm in India where we get 1 month 1.5gb/day 4g internet with atleast 3MB/S connection for $3 a month, and there is no such issue. Also the S22 has better antennas compared to iphone 13 series.. so if it is not 'optimisation ' and not antenna, then it must be some planned slowing from your carrier...
I have both phones. Well had. I was all apple with airpods watch MacBook and 13promax. I love the iPhone alot man the gaming and movies music imessage FaceTime. Camera. Snapchat. Galaxy s22 ultra is not good on snapchat. But once you get past that everything else is better. The camera. Spen. Display . Build quality. ui. Fingerprints. I need to try gaming on it soon but regardless I love the way the galaxy connects to everything so easily the customization makes it feel like your own unique phone but here is the kicker . I have edge lighting by keyword or whatever and for RU-vid the edges light up red for snapchat yellow . For xbox green. That makes a huge difference because if I leave my phone facedown and see pink which is my wife's chat Color I can pick up my phone if I see anything else I ignore it. There is so much more I need to do and learn on my s22 . I want to emulate some games and customize it better and learn about the watch . Also utilizing the s pen .
I use the snapdragon note 20 ultra 256gb/12gb model imported from the U.S. Also have the snapdragon s20 ultra i imported from the usa also. Cant wait to see if there is any real battery difference or heat they give off. The exynos s20 ultra ran hot and slowed down noticeably. Also have the 12gb/256gb oneplus 8 pro which will be an interesting comparison also.
Thanks so much for this vid, appreciate it!!! Btw fwiw, Verizon is including the 45 watt charger with purchase. Edit: I misspoke, only the cable is included, the wall adapter lists for $49.99.
@@TechGearTalk I'm going to have to edit that post because I just learned their voice support was incorrect saying it is included. The cable is but the wall adapter isn't ($49.99). Supposedly neither Samsung nor Apple will ever include adapters again.
I've had mine for a month and the side aluminum on the Green model has scratched up pretty well in a case (OtterBox) but 8 do like the phone a lot. I miss the pixel in some ways but the multitasking on this with the Spen and with dex has been awesome. I don't carry a laptop anymore I just hook up to my monitor at work and home to do work awesome stuff.
My s22 has horrible battery life 4-5 SoT and I switched to iPhone 13pro, getting 6-7 hours SoT! Don’t know how is s22+ performing and the ultra but they are too big for my taste! S23 needs to be only snapdragon and at least 4500mAh!
0.55; In all fairness, I liked the squared edge of the IPhone SE. And with the current iphones now, to me the look nice. But after the SEs that round flat design, na. And I hate the display and features (or lack of), of the iPhones. I'm currently on my 3rd Note. At first, Note4, Note8, and now I'm using Note10+. Hopefully one day upgrade to s22 Ultra.
The s22 ultra is a big laggy device. I have the 8gb 128gb version. Samsung really didn’t fix the lag in the one ui 5.0 beta so far. Camera is great but the lag on most apps and the fact that you pay 1100 for a new phone with only 8gb of ram against most now having the 12gb or more for less is not good. Display is good but the phone also heats up way to fast and battery sucks if using constantly.
If you re taking bout director s View it's in the different modes like pro and panorama etc.....you may have to go all the way to the bottom right to more to find it
This should be the phone for me but some things not mentioned is why it isn’t . 1. I can’t find an app like pixelmator photo to increase resolution . It’s called super resolution in pixelmator photo. 2. Fimic pro Firstlight. Fimic pro doesn’t have all the options like the iPhone version. 3. LumaFusion isn’t there. Will it come to android phones or just Samsung tablets. So I stick with my iPhone 12 Pro Max using those apps. I take pics and videos of mostly deer but I don’t see the kind of apps I’d use when I’ve looked for them on android. I don’t do subscription software either.
How come you dont talk about how the camera performs on social media? Because that’s why most people buy these phones with great cameras to put it on social media.
Thanks Segi. Love your reviews. Should i hang on to my S20FE . I want a better camera but don’t want to pay for s-pen , which is of no use to me. Thanks
I appreciate you - Jay. I would ask whether the camera improvement is worth the cost of the phone for you. I would also look for some good trade-ins - now that we're farther into the cycle. Hope that helps.
Yes I got the Samsung s21 ultra the 22 ultra got the same camera yes if the 23 come out with a different camera feature on the back of it I will get the 23 ultra
Excellent review. One thing you haven't mentioned though about the brightness, which is the fact that it changes depending on the screen color. Samsung's claim of a max brightness of 1750 nits isn't valid all the time, even if you enable the max brightness in the settings. This is to save battery life but disappointing nonthless. Cheers from Saudi Arabia.
I'm planning to get the Ultra this month and this video truly has helped me know that the decision is a good one. I want a phone that can pretty much do everything and looks like this is gonna be it. Thanks a lot!! I hope you can also do a video about the best cases for the Ultra.
@@sd2009in i went for s22 ultra 128gb in black and its so gorgeous😍. Screen looks amazing and it has an amazing refresh rate. Smooth feeling phone overall. The dolby atmos sounds really awesome aswell. Change the sound eq to jazz tho.
Hello one question. Is there a setting that can be made to keep a game open when I lock my phone screen? I use a simulator called "Infinite Flight", and I would like to find something to lock the screen so that the simulator continues without stopping, I want this as it would help me save energy with the screen off. Thanks. My device is Samsung A53
great review worth a sub .. just rember if your the same as me where you take a few pics vids play a few and love the big screen .. don't worry about things like battery exynos Snapdragon I have the exynos version my battery last all day from 8am to 11pm the phone is amazing in every way
had to return mine due to poor video calling quality. choppy frames to be exact !! all video calling apps behaved the same so it was the phone. I even got 3 replacements and couldnt live with it. I had this exact issue with the s21 ultra as well. Unfortunately i cannot trust samsung to purchase anymore of there "experimental" devices.
that's a challenging wish for samsung because a smaller phone with an S-Pen wouldn't fit other components like a respectable battery size and great cameras like the Ultra's cameras or even the Plus's cameras
@@its_tender88 Rootcause is Android consumption, because IPhone 13 mini only use half size battery compare with note 20 ultra (that I'm using) but battery time nearly equal
Thank you for watching. If you watch my comparison of the two - you’ll see that the 13 Pro Max has the best. Artery life of any phone I’ve used so far.
No sd slot..so they can gauge us for each increment more of storage...JUST LIKE APPLE!!!..totally disgusted with this, and will not trade because of it..Samsung making some BAD decisions as time goes on!!
still have note 10plus and note 20 ultra. i want to buy this for my birthday but should i buy it now? i want to upgrade just for the quad hd 120hz and 5000mah battery. but the speaker is weak😆
@@demboyz4082 i would advise you to wait for the S23 ultra as it is just 6months or so before it will be released.
2 года назад
You should wait 100% i have all 3 phones 10+ 5g 20 ultra and s22 ultra other than the camera there are hardly any improvements the battery isn't better at all screen is the same and s22 ultra is significantly thicker and heavier than the 10+ which is a negative plus I still find a lots of bugs while I ise the s22 ultra unlike the 10+or the note 20 ultra so no do not upgrade
