Good for junk removal? How Reliable has my Tundra been?

In this video I discuss my ownership experience 5 years and roughly 70,000 miles into owning my Tundra. I purchased this truck used from Tracy Toyota in Tracy, CA back in 2019 with about 38,000 miles on it and have since used the truck for everything from towing my Lance 2295, my dump trailer, and regular ownership and commuting.
Overall this Tundra HAS been super reliable. It's basic, honest, and a good work truck albeit a little thirsty at the pump. But hey, it's a truck!

We love our tundra. Runs every time - no drama. We tow a good size travel trailer in the summer. Great truck.

No drama is a great way to describe the Tundra. Glad it’s working well for you!

I have serious truck and trailer envy. Although our trucks in the UK aren’t any where near as big as the ones in the USA and Canada.

Yea that and petrol/diesel is probably 50% more expensive. I went to the UK in 2008 and 2012 and was amazed at fuel prices. I guess that’s one reason the trucks are generally smaller. American’s are spoiled with cheap fuel, for the most part though here in California they tax fuel a lot and are really pushing EVs.

@@RollingWithRuss yes the same here the government are trying to push EV’s and give incentives to encourage people to buy. I work for quite a large car firm though and according to them EV sales aren’t doing very well here.

1/2 ton is perfect for Household junk. Nice editing.

Thanks dude! And I would agree - I once thought I'd like to get into more excavation but I don't know if I will so I kinda bought the diesel with the idea of upgrading to larger equipment later. For now though, the 1/2 ton is totally capable.

No I think you’re wrong you know why cause I know that Toyota Tundra I’ll perform half ton trucks, three-quarter ton and 1 ton trucks have a first and Toyota Tundra when I pull with a gooseneck trailer 15,000 pounds with that truck

do you have a video on the sides you made for the trailer? they look pretty good, an in depth tour of them would be great to see

Not yet! I made a short one initially about the trailer but didn't film much because I didn't have my RU-vid channel yet. It's basically just pressure treated 2x4's in the stake pockets with carriage bolts and nuts/washers holding on the 2x10 sides. I've been pretty happy with it to be honest, and it was about half the price of getting metal sides 4' tall from Loadtrail.

Your right as long as you don’t haul a lot of dirt gravel or concrete you should be good to go

What’s your trailer rental price. Do you have different price points ?
@RollingWithRuss
@RollingWithRuss 6 месяцев назад
I usually do a 1 day rental for $300 which includes the first 2,000 lbs. of trash/debris. Anything over weight will incur additional charges. A full week rental is $400 and includes the same weight.

Yeah I never onwed one, but I bet it's solid truck. I'd say it's the perfect truck for a utility trailer because typically you will never overload those trailers. Great video man!

You should of upgraded to a cold air intake or short ram intake but a good one like k&n built to spec & or s&b brand they will increase horespower & throttle response

Will consider that if I need more horsepower in the future but for now this truck just does light hauling for the most part 👍🏼
