im f2p and while I love that I can give my favorite Riachu a ribbon I honestly think they should've just gave us mints instead of something that doesn't help much but those hardcore first, second form lovers or "ribbon" collectors. SO many times have I gotten a good sub skill pokemon only for the nature to ruin it especially with shinnies is way too high for it not to be a problem they can help with when adding mints. But that example you gave with crocalor and Quaxwell is a really good point since these are pokemon that change their type which can effect those legendary pokemon or even the island that want the second form berries.

Thanks for pointing out the type change for the Paldean starters. I was running a Quaquaval to prepare for Suicune without even realizing it wasn't a water type anymore

it does gain speed on evolution that's still beneficial if the ingredients are the focus rather than the berries. However it will likely lose water type bonuses related to suicune event bonuses.

There seems to be a pattern among game makers including Select Button that the final achievement usually is a smaller power increase than earlier achievements. For example, the cost to get legendary incense is low the first few times you get them. Then it becomes very expensive once you've bought the first few. Cram-o-matic also costs a lot more when you use it the last time each day. So it was no surprise to me that the last increase here doesnt actually increase inventory that much. Perhaps it has something to do with catering to casual players who can still achieve the bulk of the rewards without having to get seriously grindy (2000 hours).

@Bropenings Good video bro. I think another minor benefit of the Good-Night Ribbon is that you may save some sleep points from buying evolutionary items and candies. Like myself, I can run victreebell potatoes focused while running a tomatoes focused weepinbell.

My Vigoroth unfortunately doesn't have BFS but he is Adamant with Helping Bonus and Helping Speed M, so I'm definitely looking forward to getting a ribbon on him. But he's a fairly new catch, so he doesn't have many hours on him yet. But it's definitely interesting to consider keeping the Paldean starters at their middle evolution with ribbons.

This change is not to make unevolved pokemon better ot to change the "meta". It has to do with dual-typing and the high likelyhood they will introduce more and more of them. This buffs their unevolved form high enough not to feel forced to fully evolve it, just to use its full potential, but losing out on favorite berry. This way you can use them as you need them and how you are progressing. For example you can use the paldean starters for cyan, taupe and later evolve them and use them on lapis and the upcoming ghost island. If they were buffing Eevee specifically, they could have just buffed here in any other way. But you are on the right track when you compare onyx and swablu. Confirms what I said above. This is all about dual typing and not making their lower evolutions suck. In the end it's all kind useless, because nobody sleeps with 2000 hours with one pokemon just to have that ribbon-buffs

Future evos that change typing can definitely be affected by this. The current ones already covered. Onix has no comparison so it's just a general buff but otherwise didnt become better than another pokemon. Swablu's comparison is dodrio and it's still much worse so nothing changed. The paldean starters are ingredient specialists so berry comparison is less important.

Regarding eevee many have had indecision so this is a general buff. But also the promo video is heavily skewed to eevee (notwithstanding most promo vids are) so I had the idea Eevee was "in mind" when they added the feature considering it's a fan favorite that could have many hours slept. Eevee also changes type on evo so it's the same discussion as above.

I was slightly surprised I don't have anyone at 2k hours yet. The OG A-team are between 1600-1800 hours. Then again I have been sleeping with an exp grinding team for months trying to slowly build up the rest of the dudes while avoiding hitting the level cap with anyone not to lose out on exp potential.

I wouldn't mind the EXP cap too much - you get free candies then. For me I get by far most of my XP not from sleeping but from candies, but the problem is... certain mons you get way too many candies for like pikachu, jigglypuff, even though they're good mons so you end up maxing their level very early. Others, like a really good delibird I have you never meet in the wild so you never find any candies for it... so I use my lv55 charizard's sleep XP to generate candies that feed that delibird to level up faster. I think it ends up being like you swap the +100 XP on that lv55 mon for +33XP on a mon of your choice kinda thing. Worth it, I think.

@@SenpaiTorpidDOW It is way worse than that. The candy you get is worth 75 exp and you need to sleep for 500 exp to get it so you only get 75/500 = 15% in return. Instead of having the max'd out dude out for a week you could've just switched the desired pokemon in for one (1) night for the same effect not to mention the six other nights. Even if you were to spend the candy for candy boost it only goes up to 30% and then you'll be limiting your candy boost potential anyway while paying extra resources for that less-than-one-nights-sleep.

@@Pingvinicecream Fair enough, but nevertheless for those mins where you have way too many candies, as long as dream shards aren't a problem you are basically wasting exp on them by using the sleep xp on them and just having the candies sitting gthere. Maybe later if more levels are added and you need insane candy amounts I would get it but for now you get way too much XP, such that every time they boost the max level you get maxed way before they boost it again, and that is without giving mins like Pikachu any handy candies or growth incense

@@SenpaiTorpidDOW That is literally a reason *not* to use their candies for the levels. That way the moment Select Button goes "ok guys, the training wheels are off" and lvl100 unlocks you'll be sitting on top of a mountain of pikachu candies to make a decent last push instead of getting maybe three levels with the few hundred you collected since the previous update.

How do we know that once you get Max ribbon on a Pokémon at the stats do not carry over? Because I wouldn’t think they wouldn’t want you to evolve that Pokémon once you max the stats.

Because 25% speed boost is way too busted. But they didn't specifically say they would or wouldn't carry over on evolution, but the wording is that it won't.

I don't think so. They specifically said in the announcement that "A pokemon can still evolve based on what pokemon are present on the game". I'm guessing it means that until they add Annihilape to the game, Primeape and others like it won't receive the buff.

Serious Question... If it's a new day but you haven't synced your POGO++, can you go back a few hours (to the previous week), swap your team and then fix your time to make sure everything is still working accordingly? I meant to put my all lvl 14-27 Eevee team but I have my lvl 55 pokemon team currently in there! Lol I just want to switch to my Eevee team and collect my research with them!

I dont know if i miss understood but throughout this video are you assuming that the pokemon will not retain the frequency boost? So like if i reach level 4 ribbon on my onix it will get worse turning into steelix because it looses the frequency boost? Because i thought the example in the letter says that it would keep the frequency boost if i first get to level 4 ribbon then evolving?

That's correct. I don't see any wording that allows you to retain the stats upon evolution.

If you did 2000 hours with (exaple) Ralts and then you evolve it to Gardevoir, does they take away the 25% boost from doing 2000 hours with the 1st pokemon? Or it adds to the max evolution?

I don't see any wording that adds the bonus in that way. It would make little sense to compromise long term players by that much also. 25% speed boost is ridiculous for a full evo.
