I still don't get why Niantic doesn't want us doing remote raids, but it's okay to have a device play the game for us (spinning stops and catching Pokemon).
Because that requires going outside... They just need location data/us out in the world for them vs sitting at home. The few people that live on stops doesn't really change enough for that to be a problem, and having an auto spin/catcher just catches pokemon go's official device with what most people use anyway (gotcha etc).
It's pretty obvious they want player movement data, especially locational data during lunch and dinner hours. It still freaks me out that my front facing camera always comes on during the buddy interaction screen, at least Android now requires a front facing green light in the top right when an app is using it. Niantic care more about their marketing cash cow which is our data than the actual game and how fun and accessible it is to players. Glad the content creators are finally catching on and being honest with their feedback.
It’s dumb, but the reason is that remote raids can be done from home (without you GOing anywhere), but auto spinning/catching still requires you to GO to the locations where the interacts or item is.
Appreciate the stance you took here, fully support it. My first thought when I heard about this game was ‘why do you want our sleep data?’ Pokémon Go is already mainly a game driven to get your walk data!
@@Moody_Blues_ Lol chill out bro half of the things you've listed are required for the game to function. Your data as an individual isn't that valuable it's the collective data of all of their customers that is. It's against EU laws to collect and retain data they don't need, if they are collecting it there is a reason for it. The only thing you've listed here that's crossing a line is the web pages visited before accessing their services. That probably relates to marketing activities carried out by Niantic outside of their app. You can turn the geo spacial camera features off. They explicitly state in their terms no user data is sold.
Niantic already: collects data from your safari browser. I use duck duck go and burn it each time I'm done. They watch your gps movement and track your habits and sell that to competitors. They ask for email address and I'm not sure if they can sneak a peak at all your personal credentials you entered into that or not. Probably not. They also track you're phone's gps movements and send that data of what stores you shop in to competitors. And now they want your sleep data! Good lord naintic should we give you our dna data next?
Anyone else notice that the sleep cap snorlax has a different "idle" animation when looking at the pokemon? It sits while non-costume snorlax in the game stands.
Yep, and we can't get the sleep snorlax from a few years ago have their original animation, laying down. So lame, I wish Niantic would fix it. That event was pretty cool.
I think the Go ++ is basically in beta test right now and why the research takes 28 days. Maybe they'll track tge data so people can't just put the device on whatever surface and just "sleep" like in the video or to pinpoint the date tracking somehow so we cant cheese the device. Remember they need to make money off of this so it NEEDS to properly work for Pokemon Sleep.
It’s actually causing me to play the game less. I would normally wake up during the night and check spawns or balloons but now if you open the game while sleeping it stops tracking sleep so I stopped opening the game during the night lmao
Since people have stopped wearing masks (though a third of society failed to wear them correctly) viruses are exploding left and right. It use to be only in fall time you'd get sick due to the cold lowering immune systems. Now it doesn't seem to matter. I'm glad I'm not in a job position that has me face to face with people any more. The gorse habits people develop....

Just got mine today in Greece, do you need the pokemon sleep ap with the ++, do you need to be connected to the sleep ap while sleeping to get the 7 days snorlax event?
When i first saw you have to track your sleep for a week i was like "ok so can you just change the date on your phone's settings and do it faster?" Glad someone who actually bought the plus + also thought about trying that. Big 🧠 moment.
I grabbed mine on release day, and honestly I've been loving it. I did have one day of sleep that didn't register and I'm not sure what I did wrong however outside of that it's been pretty consistent with catching and I've just been using it on Auto Catch while I make deliveries and have already caught two shinies
I'm sharing this exact same sentiment as I'm missing one day of tracking as well. I agree with you. I don't know what I did to mess that day up. The only other issue I have is the vibration is a little bit strong and the lights needs to have an on off feature.
@2LadyDi I had been putting it in my bed, and I'm a bit of a crazy sleeper (Fighting Nazi, Ninja, monsters with the Avengers, while catching pokemon in the Digital world and using my Keyblade to bring Blanace to the Force 😅) However Since I've set it on the desk next to me I've had better luck. I was missing like 2 hours last night though, with the mention it was too quiet during those times.

Thank you for explaining that you have to turn off, "enable Poke ball auto-throw" to catch Pokemon using great and ultra balls. I could not figure out why I wasn't catching any. I caught 5 so far. Thanks again.
Out of the blue everybodys “sleep data” is super important and confidential. But when other companies in the past asked way more invasive stuff, they gladly abided. Interesting.
Oh, look he slept at night for 8 hours. Hurrah. Sell that data. We make millions. This human sleeps at night for the recommended hours. Can you believe it?!
How do you know they’ve abided in the past? Most people I know opt to not share data when they’re not obligated to. They turn off location location services on their phones. They usually hang up on callers doing surveys - on the rare occasion that they even answer a call from a number they don’t know, haha :p

If you don’t have an auto Walker then you can try the sock method. All the sock method is, is putting your phone in a sock and bounce your phone up and down in your sock. Both an auto Walker and sock method require adventure sync to be turned on and your game closed to work. Then just open up your game periodically to hatch eggs. To increase your chances the most then you will have to purchase some super incubators to reduce the hatch distance per 2k egg to 1.6k. Normal shiny rate is 1/64. Boosted rates knowing niantic will be 1/63.999999999.
I ordered one last week (via Pokémon site which defaulted to Amazon) before the drop and it was set to be delivered on Monday. Monday comes and I receive a notification that my order was canceled due to not enough inventory 🙄 smh idk why they would allow me to order, and then not notify me until the day of
thanks for this! Wish I would have seen it sooner as I had to figure all this out myself, but I got it now. I'm not worried about skipping ahead, so I'll just take my time with it. I'm 2 days away from my first Snorlax. I also had one day that didn't count (day 2) so an extra day will be needed for the first week. However, my Go isn't properly tracking sleep. I "put" it to sleep at 10:00 pm and don't "wake" it up until 7 or 8, though I'm up later and earlier. Average 9 or so hours of sleep and the go only tracks between 4 and 5 hours. Hey, as long as it counts I don't care. Hope you are feeling better by now! Gotta Catch'em All! ♥

@@lordraiden1125 I don't have the pokemon sleep app so I would say you don't need it for the snorlax event. Just make sure to hit the button before going to bed and hit it again when you wake.
Lol the fact you’re able to auto-throw with great and ultra ball on auto mode is great but if they patch it I’m sure there’ll be backlash since it’s possible but niantic won’t allow it. I was confused at first too. 😅
This used to be a hack to do 2 special trades at a time-do one, close game, change date (or time zone), open game, do the next day’s trade. You used up future trades but it was great for when you had to travel to meet up with someone for a trade, you could do 2 at once. Then Niantic figured it out and stopped it. They’ll probably close this loophole eventually, too.

Sound playing from the Apple device that says hey Siri shouldn’t be able to activate it’s own Siri 🤦♂️ seems like something they should be able to fix. The device should be able to differentiate between sound from something else and sound emitting from it’s own speakers. 🤷♂️
Niantic basically lost me when they doubled the price of remote raids, I have not spent money on the game since then, so I'm sure not going to drop sixty bucks on that thing. And, I'm not feeling any FOMO about it, either.
Yeah - if you have auto-throw on, and you switch to great balls, you can auto-throw great balls (or ultra) for a limited time. If you restart the app, it goes back to regular balls, if you throw a ball manually, it can reset it to regular balls, too. Definitely buggy. Some things to exploit and some things to annoy.
Not only that, they released an app called Pokémon sleep yesterday. I've obviously used it already. Yet I find it quite odd that they record you all night long.
I will say that at least on iPhone theres an option to disable the phone recording you! And I guess it just tracks sleep through movement or something, however it works lol
I honestly don't really cara about my data too much and I thought about getting it for the simple reason that it can use great and ultra balls. The fact that it doesn't use them automatically made me reconsider. I'll wait for third party companies to reverse engineer and improve it honestly. I'm not trying to constantly have this thing in my pocket and push the button, rather keep using my duomon for now
Is it me or is Niantic wanting to know how long you sleep a bit disturbing? Maybe for one night to get the Snorlax, which isn't that great to begin with. Why not a Darkrai since it enters your dreams?

Unfortunately the go plus + is released tomorrow in my country and go fest is just 2 weeks away so I’m going to use this method to complete the second page so I can claim 4 during go fest when snorlax shiny rates are boosted
I know they have come out and swore the dont sell data.. But like u said WHY do that need it. If u try using a pokeball and deny access.. It will BUG u to allow it to track you.
I purchased one yesterday and this thing is so glitchy! If anyone has any tips, would greatly appreciate them. So far, it’s catching only 40-50% of Pokémon, even when a Pokémon is sitting right next to me. It takes a surprisingly long time to identify the critter. Anyway…still glad I have it as it’s giving my already ruined Pokémon shoulder a much needed break. It does consistently spin the poke stops near me, and catches about half the “Mon.,” so could be worse.

the only true way it stays as one of the rarest shiny is if they disabled the shiny snorlax after some time, you can just use another account to do the research again which ppl will do
i just don't get how they can release this and it not work properly or the pokemon sleep app not be available. i have to toggle the auto catch and auto spin sooo many times just to get it to work and when it does its soooo slow to catch or spin. only reason to keep is for snorlax with nightcap.
