I think the main reason people hate Mine so much is the same reason they hate Self-Destruct Button: It creates literally unplayable non-games. The other reason people hate Mine is that it punishes decks in inverse proportion to how oppressive their endboard is. The best way to fight against Mine isn’t to maindeck backrow removal; it’s to set up 6+ omni-negates, including multiple trap omni-negates. There is a common theme among complaints about negates that people prefer alternative forms of disruption, but that makes decks weaker against Mine. Mine punishes players for playing decks that are more “fair”. And if we think that formats where the top decks are fairer are better, then Mine has to go, because it becomes broken in those formats.

my issue with the card is that decks aren't designed around mine anymore because it's banned in japan and OCG is literally the only format konami cares about konami of america releasing beetrooper, a TCG world premiere theme, design sheets and leaving the japanese artist comments untranslated is simply disgraceful

Facts. When decks have "interruptions" but not "negates", the format seems much more interactive, but Mine can just come in and absolutely ruin the format as a result

Oh please stop talking highly of a SS Mine player. He didn't play deck out strategy simply because he didn't want to take a risk of the opponent having spell removal. You assure that for example if the opponent has like 1x cards after activating desire then he won't deck out him?

Tbf, Poe was a fantastic player. Yeah, D-Barrier and Mine helped but he also knew how to maximise them and use them optimally. See Game 1 of the finals. Dude won due to holding D-Barrier instead of using it when his opp used poly (which was the correct play).
