I've been driving this for 6 months, and it's an amazing car. My only complaints about trim -- I wish there were less black plastic on the exterior. It's very hard to keep it shiny. Luckily, there is very little to no black plastic inside the cabin. That's not true for its sister vehicles, the Ioniq and EV6. I don't actually mind the rear spoiler cutting the rear window in half. I like the styling outside, and for me, when driving at night, that spoiler is in the perfect spot to block the headlights of the car behind me so I don't get blinded.

The drawer storage bin is actually not a bad idea. Same here, I had a shop break the dash pot on my truck storage bin when checking the air filter, and the first time I opened the bin, it slammed down and whacked the crap out of my knee.

I drive a GV60 base level trim. It‘s a really, really nice car. Very comfortable, the massaging and self adjusting seats are wonderful. Roomy enough. Excellent performance. Good enough handling. Excellent ergonomics, reasonably responsive and intuitive infotainment. Physical buttons for HVAC. Poor visibility to the rear, no rear windshield wiper, good camera view makes up for it. If you can get a good lease deal, go for it.

@@TheMadmax0609 Based on my experience in Germany I can only respectfully disagree. I‘ve had absolutely no range anxiety issues. Plenty of quick charging available. Hyundai group cars have an excellent system that in real time will display where and how far the nearest charging station is. Click on it and the navigation system will guide you to the charger. As for the USA: pretty much all OEMs are adopting Tesla‘s charging standard. So pretty much anybody will be able to use Tesla‘s Supercharger infrastructure

While you might not like the design of that gray trim. That part is very functional in keeping the collision cost down on the vehicle. On this channel it seems like that part of industry is completely not even thought about. Maybe one day collision repair will not be factor in owning a new car but until that point i would not own most the type of cars your channel recommends. From a collision repair expert. I wish the engineers would focus more time on driving all the pointless modules they keep adding over the year than saving a few dollars on making car unrepairable. There is no reason every component needs its own module, make components dumb again.

18 way adjustment on the drivers seat of the GV60 including adjustable side bolsters, extendable calf support and massage functions. Some reviewers have specifically commented on how comfortable the seats are. Carl, I’m all about Tesla. However, watching Munro vids for years now and focusing on this in particular, what do you think about Tesla introducing some of the comfort features (i.e., real leather, perforated/cooled seats w/massage, etc.) into their M3 and Y models as “premium” levels? Do you think they could pull it off and profit? Or, should they stick to minimalistic w/focus on tech?

The Genesis website currently shows a RWD version of the GV60, starting at $52k and rated at 294 mile EV range. I don't think that this was previously available and I do not see any available in stock anywhere at the moment. In RWD, it seems like a good deal to me, especially compared to it's cousins (lower price than Kia EV6 GT-Line trim or Hyundai Ioniq5 Limited trim). I think that the GV60 is priced correctly but the EV6 is probably priced too high.

Get a Tesla. All software upgrades and recall fixes are done remotely through your home wireless FOR Free!! Their service people can remotely attach to your car and analyze problems and most often can fix them without your having to spend time at a dealer.... four year warranty on this kind of stuff....Oh and Tesla's 4 year warranty (8 on battery and powertrain) does NOT require you to do ANY service on your car. The 12v battery in the Tesla self detects what type it is automatically and registers itself.... not a manual process. Change out the battery and you are done. BMW dealers will rape and pillage their EV owners because they are not making money on you having to fix your radiator fluid, oil changes, etc etc.
@wtmayhew
@wtmayhew 11 месяцев назад
The BMW battery thing is environmental responsibility gone a little too far … and I tend to side with environmental responsibility. What BMW is doing is changing the charging profile as the battery ages to eke more life out of the battery. It really isn’t that much extra life. Instead of requiring the customer taking the car to a $$$ dealer for resetting with dealer diagnostic system, there is no reason there couldn’t be an on-board maintenance item menu where the customer could indicate the battery is being replaced. This is clearly an egregious move to force the customer to have to go to the dealer and drop pure profit into the dealer’s lap.

The 26L frunk bin that you show (and appears to be the same as the Ioniq 5) is ridiculously small but I can tell you that the 54L, available for RWD on Ioniq 5, costs 250USD. Personally I'm not a big fan of all the fluff and more interested in higher quality mechanical and electrical components along with longer lasting interior materials. Extra grooves, recesses, textures, etc that are harder to keep clean and things that could become totally dysfunctional if your passengers do something as simple as spilling their Berry Blast beverage (obviously you wouldn't do this yourself) that they label as "Premium" are not a big draw. Higher quality bearings, micro-machining of mating wear surfaces/gears and other things that make the vehicle last longer and cost less to maintain over the long run are what deliver real value. Some "Premium" vehicles are maintenance nightmares since more consideration was given to the fluff instead of the basic bones of the vehicle. First clue can be how fast the wheels go out of alignment barring some accident. Another clue is how soon drive line seals start seeping/leaking increasing the likely hood that bearings and other components are going to fail just after the warranty expires. Best!

Yes there is. If mechanism fails, you can flip the shifter manually. No worries, they thought about that possibility ! 40 years ago, I bought one of the first Mazda Rx-7 when it came on the market. It had beautiful flipping headlights that worked flawlessly in any type of weather Canada can throw at you. I can imagine that 40 years later, the engineers are good enough to design a mechanism located inside the car protected from severe weather and dirt which will prove to function flawlessly for many years to come. I which the Munro team could dismantle this crystal ball so we can see the level of complexity of that mechanism and how easy or difficult it would be to repair if needed. I own the GV-60 for 18 months now and love it. A dream car really. Only one complaint, the turning radius could be smaller. Those poor rims suffer a lot of pain from curbs when my wife parks that car on the street. 😢

I hate those added gap lines and geometry from that hood shape.. nope.. not a fan The bigger fear of that flipping gear selector is definitely way more.. how the f do I drive my car if that thing breaks with the stupid crystal ball up.. that's just a dumb idea without some backup like being able to select a gear in the app or being able to force that crystal to work as a selector if necessary. I mean, a gear selector is not a 'convenience' item you can live without.. you're just plain f'd if that thing craps out in the wrong position. You can't even put the damn thing in neutral to have it towed.. what if the 12v battery dies.. you can't even put it in neutral? There better be an emergency method.. or this is just a plain dumb design for a stupid crystal ball I couldn't even give 1 shit about. Who the f is sitting in the car with it off to enjoy seeing the stupid thing anyway? Is it there to impress a crook looking in my window wondering if they want to break in? Are we having a f'n tea party in the car with it off, often? Wtf? When you're sitting in it charging.. it's ON 95% of the time.. AC.. Heat.. Entertainment.. when you're in the car.. it's almost always on. So why put the stupid ball and mechanism in? Gotta be a cooler thing you could design with that money. Not a fan of those diamond style seats.. grandma shit.. sure, the perforations for cooling and if it's comfy.. great.. but the diamond crap looks just busy and stupid to me. Not into paying for old school crap ideas of what luxury is. Nice looking car.. buncha stuff I couldn't care about in it that I'd be paying for.. and getting less range.. less performance.. less space.. for more money. To get some blingy crap.. it is a nice exterior shape though in general. I wouldn't pay the extra to get less performance and tech in total though. Considering how few of these they've sold since they've been on sale for like a year.. I think most people agree.. not worth the extra $$ in total.
