I've lived in a half dozen cities including Pittsburgh and I can tell you that Pittsburgh is just as good as anyplace but you do tend to get tired of the same old place after awhile. I had an apartment near the Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan and you get tired of seeing the Empire State Building out your window every morning, too.
I've been there a few times in the past. I say Pittsburgh is a fine city for anyone looking for a decent quality of life. If you're from a small town, Pittsburgh is going to seem like a vibrant city with tons to do. If you're from a big city like Chicago or NYC, Pittsburgh is gonna seem boring. It's all perspective. I plan on moving there after my lease is up. I'll be visiting next month to explore the neighborhoods a little more. People in Pittsburgh are also pretty friendly compared to other cities. It's probably one of the few cities in America that still retain that friendly/neighborly kind of culture.
I totally agree! I’ve lived in much smaller cities as well as bigger cities and it’s a nice in between size just depends on your preferences for sure. Nice let me know if you need any help finding a place or if there are any particular neighborhoods you are planning to visit. I also want to do neighborhood tour videos as well 🙌
Nice I went to USF down there 🙌 definitely grab some disks and check out the free disk golf course at Shenley park. Have you already decided on a place?
Hey we are in reverse. I live in Florida (Sarasota County) You know our traffic really sucks! The traffic in Pittsburgh is really bad. I don't miss the weather. I haven't seen snow in 9 years.
Oh nice yea I went to usf down there in Tampa. 😂😂 yea I the weather isn’t the best for sure. I don’t mind the cold or the snow I just wish I could see the sun more often 🥲
I've lived around 30 miles east of Pittsburgh my entire life. And drove truck through Pittsburgh couple times a day. Hauling forklifts , it's not bad at all but if you make a wrong turn or don't know how to switch lanes in traffic your screwed, to get off route 28 and make it through the Fort Pitt tunnel you have to switch lanes about 4 or 5 times,to the left to the left to the right to the right and finally to the left. My wife won't drive into the city. But it's not a problem for me. They need a express lane with no ramps so we could drive through the city to get to the other side, A lot of traffic isn't going into the city, just passing through. That would be great!
😂 yea it definitely takes a few times so you can figure out where you need to turn before you get to it. That express lane would be amazing 😭 you’re right most people aren’t going downtown anyway
I’ve learned you have to be somewhat aggressive to fit in traffic sometimes when people don’t want to let you in. For the most part they don’t want to hit you either 😂
@@TimRobertsRE OH yeah. In 1991 I and my sister visited. Also visited the homes I and my sister were born. Although the company did not exist any more, at the top of the building we saw the company's name was given. It was very nostalgic for us to go back to our childhood.
You pronounced the full name of the Mon River correctly so you are now a Pittsburgher! I grew up there but have lived in SW Florida for over 40 years. The weather down here has gotten hotter and lasts longer than it ever was. I've had enough of it. Nine months of unrelenting 90 degrees does that to you.
🎉🎉Well then you spent more time in Florida than I did and I was born there 😂. It’s so funny almost everyone that reaches out from these videos is trying to relocate up here from Florida. Any plans on coming back?
Good job man ..your presentation a little nervous but your honesty and relaxing manner appealing. Like when you talking about driving and it's not as big as NY/ Chicago but is great. Good job again I like your city , visited once but now have to to return.
Compared to NYC it is not but there is an interesting thing that happened the past few years with the start of covid in which a lot of people particularly from NY and California moved down to Florida and other southern states. Since they were used to paying higher prices where they came from, they gladly paid more than the houses were worth. That contributed to many Florida people getting priced out of areas that they grew up in. So in short to you it might not seem expensive. And yes there is great weather but don’t underestimate the hurricanes 😂
@@TimRobertsRE oh yes for sure there's been a huge exodus. Can you blame them though 😕 But anyways Pittsburgh is really underrated City and I really enjoyed your video. Just sucks that it's so far from everything , but also can be good thing as well. So the city it doesn't become over populated and over priced. So I guess things happen for a reason 🤷🏼
Florida has the entertainment I like, but it's too hot, and the people are nasty. Everyone from Florida wants to move here, and everyone from PA wants to move to Florida 😮
No problem! That area isn’t bad I know that particular road has a bunch of commercial businesses I didn’t know they have residential. But some areas near there can depend block by block
Hi im from tampa too i grew up there im thinking about moving to pittsburg too i drove through therr the other night and what i saw was beautuful imwuth ya florida is too expensive for me too
It really is a beautiful city! And relatively cheap compared to many parts of the country. I’d love to help you find a place if you want to make the jump. Did you get the chance to explore at all or really just driving through?
@@SixHundredandThirteenI mean if you are like me I’d rather live in winter as long as possible, but I get that’s weird. I hate hot weather I’m dying in 70 degree weather lol
Hello from Palm Harbor Tampa Bay area Pinellas county. Really considering Pittsburgh Monroeville area. Seems like my husband and I could afford a home there as we are way priced out here.
Hi there! Yep that’s part of the reason I didn’t go back to Tampa when I came back to the US from Japan 😅. I’d love to give you more info on the area if you email me at tim.roberts@exppgh.com and in the meantime I’m gonna start planning a video for Monroeville for my next area tour!
Ive lived in chicago nyc, miami, back on chicago, but i am excited to visit Pittsburgh. FYI, I hated Miami; ive been fortunate to meet many wonderful people there, but 80% of the miami population, has an inflated sense of entitlement.
