I’m hammock camping as much as possible every week of the year, but I use my Wilderness Innovation Poncho as my hammock, it’s made to do that. My DIY hammock stand is one of my favorite ways to hang when I’m camping out of my truck. I don’t ever have to worry about trees, particularly the scrawny trees on the desert. This clip is just a quick run down of my sleeping set up. I’m using a Slider Bug Net to keep the millions of no-see-ums off me so I can sleep. I love the Xtreme HD Poncho I’m using for the hammock, there is no stretch in the fabric at all so my lay is flatter even on my sides, it does not squish my sides. The Osni Blanket is a nice light cover for cozy sleeping.

Man 4 months or so ago a ran across wilderness innovations. Got sucked into Perry’s videos and was just wowed over the ponchos an impressed. Did digging around on here for others with it. Couldn’t really find anyone here with it unboxing and or showcasing them just one or two speaking on it older videos. Came back to a bunch more of Perry’s videos. An checked out his website. An thinking man no way could I not buy one of these an give it a shot. They look well made an just a damn nice poncho, compared to any other brand an no brand ponchos, from online to army surplus shops. I kicked around in the mind which one. I figured well if I’m going to spend the money I may as well get one with some strength in it vs the regular run of the mill ponchos that can be found wherever. Seen the HD poncho an was like that’s definitely it. And I can get a little extra length on the front an back an what not. Went to make the order for the green like rip stop Dyneema one. Until I seen the extreme HD Dyneema poncho the grey one. An was like dammit that’s the one. Yeah it’s a pretty penny. No way could I drop that much an not get the quick connect and the Dyneema webbing with it. So got that one with the longer front an back with the sleeve extensions. Seeing it was about. Packable as the cordura poncho. But I think slightly lighter than than one but after seeing his material cutting test on the extreme Dyneema poncho fabric and that it was as “soft as old pair of jeans”. That had to be the one. And knowing cordura isn’t all that soft or pliable of material. After some time it finally showed up. Pulled it out. Got to check it out. Was completely blown away. On the material feel the size an weight vs the strength an the feel. And the 100% quality and USA made. And eventually got to put it to some use. I’ve been in hammocks ect a number of times. An I know it isn’t designed as a stand alone hammock an thats it’s only use. But that has got to be the most comfortable hammock I’ve been in to this date. Hands down. After that an the quality ect. I had to jump further in for the ultralight tarp the ultralight tarp kit and the bug net. That came in. And was that much more impressed by the set up I just put in the order for the beast, the shelter base with poles and the osni under quilt an osni top quilt. And definitely excited for them items to show up an patiently waiting. But I know that’s gonna be some hell of prices of gear based off the other things. The only thing I’m missing is the PSTM tarp. But soon I need to check that off the list. Than I should have about every major piece of gear. But also kicking around picking yo that gridstop pattern Dyneema blend poncho that has like that rip stop pattern. That one more for the hell of it an like the look of it. But anyone in doubt on any piece of gear from wilderness innovation or any hesitation. GO FOR IT. You’ll end up being more than pleased an happy about it when it gets in your hands. And with the Made in the USA tag. Ya can’t beat it. Sure it’s pricy compared to other stuff out there. But for the different uses of each item. Or the stand alone use of each or the combined use of it all working together as a system. Hands down best stuff out there definitely for a poncho person. Hell even if your a regular rain gear person you’ll love this stuff just as much. My comment was t bought or paid for I received nothing from Perry free. Bought it all. And not a single regret. Other than. I can’t gather up enough money to get a lot more faster. Definitely would like a set up in each bug out bag/vehicle ect an a set of it all just for camping out. Awesome stuff Perry. Excited for that you may come up with next.

You are dead on. I got the Coyote XWIDE Poncho and it is unbelievable. I also got a Coyote Osni Poncho Liner, with Blaze orange on the inside...wear it to walk my dogs in freezing winter weather here. Unbelievable. I WILL be buying more gear. And like you said, having a W.I. poncho in each family member's go bag would be a critical LEGIT survival item. Keeping your body DRY and protected from the WIND are critical to maintaining core body temperature- and your LIFE. After using both my PSS XWIDE Poncho Survival Shelter...and the Osni Poncho Liner, I am confident I would trust my safety and my life to these items due to how bombproof they are built. Finally, Perry personally answers my text messages/questions at odd hours of the night even- that's the best customer service I've ever had.

I've been busier than ever actually, but not editing video - I have still been camping every week still and shooting video, but not editing. We had to move our sewing operation to a new partner in Colorado, it's been going well, but a lot of getting used to the new flow of things.
