Women and Black, Indigenous, or people of color often serve in low-paying nonprofit jobs that require excessive hours, lack benefits and offer little to no promotion opportunities. As giving circles continue to bring in more diverse and representative members, including nonprofit employees, we must take action and stop the cycle. Giving circles can take the lead in supporting the elimination of poor-quality nonprofit jobs and help raise job standards in the nonprofit sector. In this session, we'll discuss foundation practices, including accountability assessments, which promote long-term sustainable jobs. You'll leave this session with an understanding of equity standards to take back and discuss with your own giving circle members.
