George and Lily Lucas' marriage is not a happy one. Ed Begley stars as the beleaguered husband whose unfaithful wife and lover, Curtis Tabor, are bent on eliminating him; however, George has a surprise or two for them. Nevertheless, karma will get you in the end. This exciting episode of The Mollé Mystery Theatre aired on NBC on August 8, 1947. This was a suspenseful dramatization on "Molle Mystery Theatre." It had high production values - pace, script, acting, sound effects/music. Ed Begley did many supporting roles in radio. In 1962 he won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for "Sweet Bird of Youth."

(0:45): Good to hear Ed Begley returned after appearing in "Boomerang"!...(5:30): Every time i dial PEnnsylvania 6-5000, all i get is music. And a buncha guys shouting....I'm CONFUSED this couple still had some firewood. Ordinarily by the time one (or two) have reached the state this show lays out, they've burned the furniture. They SHOULDA burned the SCRIPT! -----Nah, that's a joke, son. GREAT episode, new to me, of a show i've always regarded highly. The Mystery Theater (its name shortened after the morons at Molle dropped sponsorship) not only had excellent performances by top-of-their-skills actors---skillful plots---intricate, quality sound-effects & orchestration---but for one brief stretch its host was PETER LORRE! "Hello, Creeps!" -----Video killed the radio shows. Wish the "theater of the mind" could boomerang.

This entry has what Helen Hayes & Pee-Wee Herman only aspired to, what Aeschylus & "Soffy" Sophocles only envisioned: in this one EVERYBODY ends up dead! Good show, good show!! -----Firesign Theater put it for all time in their epilogue to Shake-a-spear's "As You Like It, or Anything You Want": "...and no one's left / To write an ending / To this dumb-ass play." Hear! Hear! Author!!!
