@@pmireur04 I went to my BMW dealership and told them that my range was really bad a few months ago. They told me exactly when the warranty expired and that it would be better to wait until just before. If it is less than 70% capacity of when you first bought it - it should be replaced under warranty. If the capacity is 70 or better I am stuck with paying for the test. I should know soon. There is a way to do a check yourself if you search in the internet. It's not as exact as their equipment though.
They only stopped making them in Oct'22, after more than 9 years with only a minor facelift and two battery upgrades as the technology was progressing. Still a shame, but pretty impressive!
My max range on my 2014 i3 avg is 60 miles, maybeee 70-75 with perfect conditions and weather. Got about 55k miles and excited to keep it going but man can that range be limiting. i understand the position you are in and why you traded, and it seems like where i am headed even though i love the car so much!
FYI the leaf came out before Tesla model s in 2011. I have a 2012. People always think Tesla but no leaf sold 500,000 before Tesla finally passed it when the model 3 came out in 2018. I am not saying a leaf is better than Tesla. But it was 1st. We love the leaf!! You are correct, it’s the original mass market ev, and really paved the way for Tesla. I was really excited when I first started seeing them on the road ten plus years ago.
I enjoyed your video, funny I owen an ID.4 and a 2018 BMW i3 Rex. Too bad there is no one out there replacing the battery packs on the i3. An upgrade to the bigger pack in our 2018 would give you more than twice the original range. I leased the ID.4 because I knew that advances in battery tech and efficiency would occur by 2025 and I would want a newer EV by then. Tesla will be an option but I will look at other cars if the CCS network improves bu then.
