Aaron, you are so easy to love which also makes your journey's end especially difficult to grieve, but you are worth it. Thank you for gifting us with the experience of you. What you've shared with us and the collective of human experience changed the world in ways I will forever be grateful for and inspired by. Your essence lives on in those who's lives you've touched-your cheeky clever humour, your sometimes superhuman yet inviting dignity and grace; your ability to hold the painful things in yourself and others with clear witnessing and wise compassion in order to heal from the source; your effortless divinity that helps us summon and see this in ourselves. You deserve this rest. As sorrowful as I am that this is the end of your beautiful chapter in our shared story, I am also glad that you feel ready for the time of well deserved rest. Love, always, sweet Aaron.

Oh Aaron. I was one of the ones holding out for a miracle for you. Please know that meeting you has had a tremendous impact on my life and we will forever be connected because of that. I fear death a little less and understand how it is just as important to embrace the existence of this life as it is to embrace the inevitability of our death. You said you believed your story to be one of "dying with dignity, rather than miraculous survival". You are doing so. Aaron, I remember taking Thai massage classes with you at the UBC campus oh so many years ago. And then on our bike journey through Nelson, being welcomed into your fancy themed dress up party! Thank you for the light you brought into this world, for your kind and open spirit and your inspiring engagement with the big, spiritual questions of this life. And thanks for demonstrating for all of us how to exit with such courage and strength and grace.
