Hi Emily! _(Mini-review)..._ ⭐️ *What an exceptional performance! Outstanding!* As soon as you started to sing, I was spellbound by how incredible your voice is! What a pure joy to listen to! 😊 I don't know how you've been maintaining such professional performances in your videos! As your performances are impeccable! This is by no means an exaggeration either! You start straight away with; ♫ "I’ll say goodbye to love"♪. This is such sensational singing. Unbelievable at your age! There is such maturity and control in your voice, that your performance becomes mesmerizing! At 0:22, ♫ "I just can't seem to find it"♪, has such expressive vocal control. (with superb vibrato on the lyric: "it"). I'd like to point out and mention here that when you sing; you define each word so clearly. So many singers (with even great songs), you have to look up the lyrics to find out what they're singing. However with you, there is such perfect phrasing control; so a big commendation to you in that area. Well done! (and terrific mentor work by your Mum!) 🙂 I just love your lower register at 0:38 ♫ "I’d say goodbye to love"♪. You have such rich lush texture in your voice Emily! There's a little sharp sibilant on "Surely" at 0:49, but that doesn't distract for long as the melody climbs. Then you pull off this low note of "♫ "someone"♪ 0:55, with such ease, that your vocal range is fascinating to listen to! At 1:24 we experience this beautiful piano solo! 🎹 You really are showing off your elegant skills on the keyboard and at 1:40 you slow the tempo to the emotional mood of the song. Superb! 👍 (Also nice camera work!) 🎥 Plus you have a beautiful mauve dress for the video; it's lovely! It's also nice to see the visual detail that's been made to the video presentation. 👸 You resume at 1:47 with the most gorgeous singing; ♫ "What lies in the future is a mystery to us all"♪. Plus you perform this with such confidence as well. At 2:00, where the song seems to go up a tone; you manage this so easiy. Then at 2:09, you come back with your adorable smooth register, singing; ♫ "I’ll say goodbye to love"♪. You have talent big-time! Terrific vocals! Finally, I like the little few seconds wait right at the end, when you look up and finish with your smile! 😃 _In conclusion..._ To do this performance "live" with just you and the piano and generate such captivating and stimulating singing, is quite a remarkable achievement! Bravo! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I'm so keen to hear perhaps one day in the near future; you have a backing track or orchestra accompaniment. Now that will be so exciting! Perhaps if you can get the opportunity to collaborate with Sina again would be awesome! I can't wait to hear some originals! However, this performance here is outstanding!!! *Congratulations Emily!* 😊 (and beautifully recorded by your Mum!) It's nice of you to pay tribute to this emotional and meaningful song. Simply a stunning tribute to The Carpenters with both your brilliant vocal and piano accompaniment. There is an old saying that is applied to talent/ability/potential, "The sky's the limit", however, in your case Emily, I think there are no limits.

I believe that Karen Carpenter had one of the best voices in popular music ever, and is very hard to cover. You made it sound effortless! This is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for all you do.

What's so cool is that - while you're not impersonating anyone else and you have your own style - your beautiful singing resembles the legendary Karen Carpenter here, Joni Mitchell (when you sing River) and Adele (I forget the song title now). And then your piano playing accents everything beautifully. On other covers, you absolutely not only live up to them, but elevate them.

Everyone commends your vocal and piano techniques, and quite rightly so... But I loved your "phrasing" at 2:06 where you pulled a tasteful rallentando and played the phrase "but for now this is my song" on the piano without singing it. In my opinion, this choice perfectly captures and expresses the melancholy in this song. It shows that you actually FEEL what you're playing and singing, not just "perform" it. Exquisitely tasteful. Well done.

The human voice is a gift from our creator formed physically as a unique signature of who you are. Your voice has an "old soul" quality that transcends space and time.
