Thank you for this video. Really heartwrenching. I wish Brian Bird, John Tinker, HM and all the people responsible for making E choose Lucas in the end, could see this poignant, heartbreaking yet beautiful video. I wish they knew how many Hearties were devastated by E's senseless decision to pick a saloon owner over a man who had loved her for 3 years ....a selfless, noble, caring, courageous, impeccable man of honour and integrity - Nathan. To me, he is the winner no matter what. He has shown grace under fire, emerged stronger than ever after each obstacle that was thrown at him, proved his graciousness in bowing out of the triangle and encouraging his love rival to pursue Elizabeth instead of 'wimping out'...so yes, Nathan is a true winner hero! Always will be. And Kevin is an exemplary actor with superb talent and skills. He was the star of the show. Ratings were high because of him! 👏👏👏
In order for the writers and execs to see this video they would have to care about people, the fans who have made their show a hit. But they don't care about people. They only care about numbers. Ratings And what immediately sells. Disgraceful! Erin Krakow may have been the star of the show at one time, but no more.

Even if they remove that nail, it will still leave a scar behind. No amount of redemption on Elizabeth's part will be able to undo the damage they have done to her character. @@jamiepead1481 Kevin McGarry has absolutely become the star of that show and they know it. Sure, some of the other characters are beloved...I especially like Bill, Florence, Ned and The Canfields. But Elizabeth and Lucas? They need to be slapped into oblivion -- their humble arrogance knows no bounds.
My DVD collection will end with my season 7. Writers tried to be clever and drag it out but lost the plot, literally, as well as depriving Elizabeth of her previous conviction and integrity. Sad.

The writers could have made it right between Nathan and Elizabeth, but they either did not have the 1. moral courage to do it, 2. the creativity, or 3. the goodness of heart. I suspect all three. They defrauded the viewers, dangling false hope before them and yet the writers/execs were still rewarded with a Season 9. In what universe is that kind of shyster like behavior rewarded? Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools: that describes the writers and execs of the show perfectly in Season 8.
yes, you are so right I believe sincerely that the reason they chose Lucas is that they are trying to promote foolishness over good family values especially because the communist agenda which is sneaking its way into America HATES family which is what Nathan and Elizabeth would have represented a wonderful healthy mixed family, they also hate when people put Love over Careers which is why they also HATE Carson and faith, it goes against their rule of the individual is not important but rather the group. this is really explained clearly in the award-winning documentary Agenda and Agenda 2 I highly recommend watching you can get it on Amazon for just £3:99 I highly recommend it is very eye-opening.

The writers/execs are embracing a new evil ideology, a different type of culture, that is infiltrating film. They are capitulating to leftist tropes of secularism even as they still superfically claim to uphold values and virtues related to: united homes, close knit families, Christian values, etc. " It's all a cover. They are giving way to the pressures of the immoral media heads, but they will never admit it. Count on it.
I personally feel the many changes in Show Runners had a huge impact on this whole season, as well as one of the leads leaving like she did. That could have also led to the writers having to change their storylines so many times. Ultimately, it wouldn’t have been my choice for Elizabeth, but then I’m not the one who signs off on the content, or Season 9. It’s going to be an interesting ride.

I totally agree. I can't stand her anymore either because of all the bad behavior and deliberate disregard for the feelings of the fans. I hope they reap what they sow season 9, a ratings plummet.
I agree but I do also think we need to remember that the actors are not their characters and the reason they have to ignore the fans and carry on promoting their movies is that if they didn't they would lose their jobs however I did notice that Erin HAS posted some sympathetic posts on her social media.

Agreed. And that is why he is beloved. He is a giver, but not in the obvious ways....of money and other things money can buy. Nathan truly gives of himself...his time, his listening ear, his goodness, his love to that community. Decent people see it, are drawn to it and respond to it.

I understand completely...I can hardly watch this without crying...the really sad part is this was so unnecessary..so upsetting...why did they put Nathan in the triangle, and treat him so poorly if he never had even the slightest chance? Who felt the need for Nathan to express that he had fallen in love with Elizabeth..and Lucas never uttered a word of how he felt....and then gut Nathan at the end in his office....Why wasn't it sufficient to allow Lucas and Elizabeth to have a romance without hurting a third party? The situation has taken down a character for what? I think somehow the storyline has to give Nathan his standing back...he is not a fool..he needs some respect given his character. I hope there are plans in the works to allow his storyline to regroup and grow without being exposed to Elizabeth and Lucas's pity...

But it was cruel to use Nathan as a play thing...to make him a third wheel. That is not ever alright. It's poor storytelling. And Elizabeth never apologized for stringing Nathan along. Her haughty self was rewarded? If Lucas is her reward, well then she can have that second rate prize.

I would love to see way less Elizabeth season 9, I've grown not to like her character this season. I know she will still be the main unfortunately but there are better characters on the show now. Carla, I.can only echo what others have said. You and other creators of these Team Nathan videos helped a lot of us get through. I have now unsubscribed from Hallmark but the sadness is still there. Before I unsubscribed, I read where Carson may come back and that Nathan will be grieving in the first part of season 9. How much pain, hurt and grief are we supposed to.watch? I have said I will continue watching WCTH but I am not certain that I can. And, of course, they posted comments of a few Nathan fans who wish Elizabeth and Lucas well. Elizabeth chose the tangible, superficial over the intangible and I have lost so much respect for her. Her fancy dresses,.candlelight meals and trips won't change a thing. The writers have ruined a beautiful love story. I can tell from the comments that Team Nathan supporters are stunned and saddened. All for their ratings for this sick season 8. God bless you and all the other Team Nathan hearties. Thank you, again for the love, support and encouragement you gave us!
What bittersweet commentary...you and many other Team Nathan fans understand why this was such a blow to us...because there was nothing virtuous about what Elizabeth did in Season 8 - she was rewarded (if you consider Lucas a reward and I don't) for her immature behavior. She chose glamour over goodness, fear over faith, and lust over love. The writing was not redemptive in any way in Season 8. The writers may think they have won, since the show was renewed for Season 9, but they should be reminded of how they got there -- by using and abusing their fans and counting on them to tune in week after week, fans hoping that maybe, just maybe, the writing would improve. But the writing did not improve (it was absolutely horrible in Season 8)...it got progressively worse and I don't think the writers/exec cared. At all. Only the ratings mattered to them, even at the expense of goodness, uprightness and honesty. And good storytelling/writing. I suppose they won...numbers were all that mattered to them. They played many WCTH for fools and they're probably laughing about how they got away with it. But we'll see who has the last laugh next year.

What are they thinking? I will.not continue to pay for the Hallmark channel for sitcoms that I don't watch anyway. If they are not willing to give their best every day then people will go with other alternatives. With our economy the way it is and prices going up at the grocery and at the pump, the Hallmark Channel will become a luxery item anyway. What Hallmark is doing just makes no sense whatsoever. Too hard to watch... I am soooo mad with the producers and writers for deceiving us for so long. Any of these situations show the great chemistry between these two characters. Don't let BB or anybody fool you: we didn't want Nathan for his looks, we believed his epic love story. But they lied and played with us and now act surprised about our reaction. Unbelievable! I don't trust them anymore. I have lost any interest in the story and in E character. Nathan is too god for her.
They ruined the original story. That’s it for me. I’ve watched from the beginning. Also read the books by Janette Oke which this series was based upon. Makes me angry and sad. It is no longer the story of a teacher and a Mountie. I can’t bear to watch Elizabeth with a saloon owner. Makes me sick. As well they are trying to make a match with Faith and Nathan. Yuck. This video is so well put together to explain the pain and disappointment thrust upon the fans...it is hard to watch without tearing up....BUT it clearly points out the beautiful epic love story that was thrown away so easily...what a loss...what a horrible loss.
It was bad enough when They killed Jack, (I know it was Daniel Lissing’s choice and that whole event was a long time ago) but everybody had been recovering from that shock and hoping for something good with the new plot when what do the writers do? They make it even worse just when it started to get better by sticking her with the SALOON owner of all people. In the very beginning it was supposed to be a Mountie and a school teacher not a school teacher and a dang saloon owner. Not to mention making us wait beyond infinity to reveal this stupid idea.
Thank you for helping us say goodbye to When Calls the Heart and grieve the beautiful, uplifting stories of the Mountie and teacher's married, forever love, which they refused to write.
O the reason they put her with Chris it that Elizabeth won’t it that way that why I turn it down when she on I like Nathan and Chris and the one Lady and her husband that are great on the show
My heart is broken. I still can't believe they twisted the ending and destroyed a beautiful love story. I feel a deep bitterness, a lot of sadness. Nathan and Elizabeth will remain forever in my heart.
@@janecarter5807 The scene on the bridge was nauseating. The actors ran toward one another because they were pushed to run toward one another. It was unfailingly forced. No magnetic chemistry between Erin Krakow and Chris McNally's character no matter how much the writers/exec want to convince the viewers to believe otherwise. I was repulsed.
What gets me is that it was done on purpose. BC some of the higher ups wanted L for the leading role and NOT a MOUNTIE..let's face it, WCTH became political...SAD

Yes, agreed. Kevin's talent is wasted on WCTH. He should bolt and go somewhere where he's given a good script to develop and make his own. Season 8 made a mockery of both Kevin as an actor and what good storytelling should be.

The ending was a farce. It should have been Nathan. I dont know how she could fall in Love with Lucas after only a few dates. She was always see with Nathan, always seeking him out. I hope Nathan meets someone who loves and appreciates him and Elizabeth realizes she made the wrong decision. We love you Nathan and Allie
How can Elixabeth make this choice!! In 3 SEASONS she has run after Nathan all the time!! She never do that with Lucas! She made Nathan believe she cared for him, made him feel wanted - and she wanted to know everything about his privatlife! So tertible selfish!! Well, done is done! Hope she is happy with the choice!! Miss Oke may as well have written a book about a rich school teacher and a rich gambler saloon owner and made it into a harlequin type teen romance novel that caters to the fantasy stories instead of a more realistic story line ! Every fan doesn't want to waste their time and energy on fluff and a manufactured romance! It's funny how the team Gambler fans are saying insensitive comments about the Team Nathan fans being upset ! Not one of them.will acknowledge the 70% of fans that were rooting for a Nathan - Elizabeth ending instead of a gambler saloon owner childishly insecure individual.! And the way they altered her character to be rude, insensitive , callous and d selfishly unkind ! Why make it appear that she was acting that way because she was still trying to get over Jack passing ! Who gets over that quickly and makes a bizarre excuse that she was trying to find Jack in Nathan and for the umpteenth time breaking Nathan's heart ! I love you but I'm not in love with you .... SMH ! For many fans that was it for us , and we won't reward that ! The people that are saying it's our loss , well that's their opinion but we see it merely as we are not going to support it anymore , simple as that ! No making bad comments about fans , actors , writers and producers , no no no , we will leave that to the team Gambler fans , we will just watch something else !
I have stated before in many post... what the fans are the most HOT about is the BROKEN TRUST! This has always been a show that taught values, lessons and had morals and principles! The intentional manipulation of its fan base all for ratings strikes at the very heart of what this show was built on! We are adults that know it is just a show but we are also intelligent enough to know when we have been DECEIVED! The producers and writers intentionally sold false hope to keep fans watching but failed to deliver. The show has deviated from all that made it great! Bickering couples, gossip sessions at the barber shop to down your man, Elizabeth unkindness to everyone, even crushing a motherless child....NOT wcth worthy. This is no longer a frontier saga, feel good show or even true to the theme teacher and a mountie series....it is just a soap opera with cheap drama.....Goodbye to WCTH it is clear that any hope of it's former glory is gone!
You nailed it. It's the broken trust more than anything! I feel made a fool and I'll be walking away. Sadly some of the cast doesn't deserve what is happened to the show.

What gets me the most is that it was never a triangle. HM put King L on a throne all season and gutted N all season. They wanted all the fans to love L and hate N..I will never forgive them for that. I don't get it at all..what happened to "love is worth fighting for" E didn't fight for love, L sure didn't fight for L. The only one fought for love didn't get the girl. This is what WCTH/writers taught me. 1. Love is not worth fighting for. 2. You can buy love with fancy gifts and fancy picnics. 3. You don't have to have meaningful conversations to fall in love.4. You can buy off people and have them spy on their family members without any consequences. 5. No matter how noble or selfless you are, you will be on the back burner forever. 6. We all need to mother who can publish books for us.7. It's ok to run from your fears 8. When love isn't worth fighting for, you can just leave. 9. If my husband ever dies and another guy replaces his job, I will see my husband in him even though he is a different person and therefore can't ever fall in love with him.
Good is this that makes everything hateful. The best with self-righteous excuses are killed. Everything superficial must win. With the pretense of being part of a show to dictate the worst rules and the problem is that a lot of people keep saying "but it's just a show". Everything in the life marks the thought especially of young people even a show.
This brought tears to my eyes. So heartbroken over how badly Nathan has been treated and how wcth has completely betrayed the storyline presented these past 3 yrs.

Agreed. This storyline started 3 seasons ago and I anticipated it would divide the audience, which it did. The writers took a big risk and it did not pay off. There were other ways to tell the story of Elizabeth finding love again that would have united the audience so everyone would see E’s journey and be happy for her. When there is a triangle of two good men both wanting the heart of a woman who lost a good man, it is inevitable that you will upset many fans. It doesn’t feel like the writers thought this through carefully and tried to wrap up these past 3 years in the last 6 minutes. The bridge scene also seemed forced to me. Elizabeth is so confused and then she is madly, deeply in love, really? This could have been so much better, even with Lucas as the choice.

They had us tuning in each Sunday faithfully waiting " patiently " to see if she would come out of her post trauma condition and come to realize that she does Love Nathan and that she would run to him and they would kiss ! To.make a lame attempt at trying to let Nathan.down softly , but this was terrible and many times we.( team Nathan ) had to watch Nathan' s heart being torn to pieces over and over again ! I have watched religiously with my mother since that very first episode and we' d be anxious waiting all of those months just to get another opportunity to watch this once wonderful show ! Seeing how Elizabeth character drastically changed since the passing of Jack , shouting at Nathan.in front of the towns folks , the way she rode off Lea leaving Nathan pouring his heart out , and she told Rosemary " I feel so bad riding off the way I did and him pouring his heart out like he did ! I don't care for her character anymore ! She.may as well have Charles a chance , he comes from similar back.grounds as her ! I only like Rosemary and Lee , Clara and Jesse , Bill and Molly, Ned and Florence, the new family , Faith , the children.and I really like Fiona , she has the potential to be a main.character , because she is beautiful , fun, smart , out going , loyal to.her friends , brave as when she went to.help the men at.the work site ! She is business.minded and this is why many fans thought that she would be a better fit with the gambler ! Nathan.was grossly mistreated and if they try and put Faith with Nathan., that wouldn't be good because Carson.might just come.back to town and plus it's tacky and a rebound ! I could easily see a big drop.in the ratings next season.after they realize how many veiwers left the show ! How do.you.mistreat a vast segment of the viewers ?.it makes no sense !
My only consolation now is that Kevin and Kayla are very happy together and they have each other for support. I really hope that in real life, Kevin gets to marry the woman he truly loves. "Kevla" forever! 👩❤️👨
What disturbs me more than Elizabeth's choice was the way we were deceived! They call it a triangle but it wasn't....they said there would be going back and forth, never happened. They abandoned themes like overcoming fears and fighting for love. They deceived us with Elizabeth choosing Nathan's hands for who she is meant to be with, they have her warming his serge implying wifely care. They lied in interviews and released misleading promos! Nathan never got a chance and now the writers and producers responses to fan feedback is atrocious! They don't deserve our continued viewership after such disregard for their fans all for ratings! They should have ended this sooner and made both teams happy! This former heartie will not reward this kind of behavior....sad it goes against all wcth stood for in past seasons! Farwell Wcth!

I responded personally to Brian Bird (on a post on his FB wall) and he responded to me, essentially claiming that I would never say what I wrote to his face, only behind a keyboard. I responded back and said I absolutely would tell him to his face if I met him. I am not a coward. Then a day later, the entire original post from him (from May 10th) was deleted. So the evidence is gone. They are absolutely silencing criticism from many WCTH fans and yet they still want the loyalty of fans. They can't have it both ways. They have bowed their knee to the god of money. That much is plainly obvious. And it's making fools out of all of them -- the writers and the execs, but don't tell them that -- they'll just deny it and say that "we're bitter, sore losers." Not true. Not true at all. But they don't care and will not listen.
This was not a good season or ending to this years show. She led him on and then dumped him, what a terrible thing for her to do. I will have to wait and see if I will continue my time watching this show
They turned E into a Hamilton rich girl, the girl that she escaped from to be at Hope Valley..She became mean/unlikeable and used people..she made up with Rosemary just to talk about L dumping her
This season has been awful from start to finish. The writers ruined this beautiful show with a lousy ending. I will always team Nathan, I will always love our Mountie.
Writers sure know how to ruin a good series. I agree with you that this season was very disjointed and not very interesting. I had a had time watching it til the end. I am not sure if I will continue to watch WCTH.

Nathan shd have been the one saying those lines to E then E to run into his arms. Like a bad dream!! Somehow A saloon owner and Teacher are not the theme for this show as was before. Think HM are banking that FANS will still return way it is Most are hurt and feeling betrayed, the soapy quality of the final scene did not gel for me, it was " too put on" and feels unwholesome. The more I'm reading and going to TL fan sight, the more I'm finding out all this was planned..Why??? That's the number one question...I can speculate 3 answers 1. They flipped the script to appease someone(who Idk). 2. They didn't want another Mountie/teacher at which they should have never had a triangle. 3. N was a Mountie. We know how police are treated, for example, look how N was treated all year and to even suggest F for him for a rebound, don't even get me started with that. This is my conclusion, YOU will not see much of N next season, he will be moved to the back burner while L will get the lead role..I call this Hollywood politics at best...

Yet in the end, no one sacrificed anything. L never had to give anything up, heck he was going to leave. E never gave anything up, she dated L the whole season...So what was the point of the story, I haven't even figured it out yet.

Time to write out Elizabeth and Lucas and bring in a new teacher for Nathan. Someone who is better than Elizabeth. Time to get back to original premise of show!
The basic idea of this serial started from a new graduated teacher who had everything yet wasn't happy with the life she was leading. She left everything even against her father's wishes who made sure to send a good mountie to take good care of her. When Elizabeth went back home and was courted by a rich friend of hers, she still realised that money wasn't everything and went back to Jack. It wasn't Nathan's fault that Jack was killed. He could have easily remained where he was stationed. Yet, due to his sense of duty, dignity, values and personality he made another change for his niece and himself. He knew what a single parent faces. He wanted to be there for her to help her in any possible way. I think that the writer should have included Lucas before in previous season and allow the relationship between Lucas and Elizabeth to develop. Nathan would have been introduced after and knowing the reason of his presence in Hope Valley, Elizabeth would have looked at him in a different way as in fact she did towards the end of the season. If the story will continue next season, I hope that the write of Hallmark is good enough to arrange the story to have more spectators who follow the serial. Lucas hasn't worked hard enough for Elizabeth. What he made available to her (library, publishing book) was easy for him to aquire. I agree, Being Patient is a value Nathan respected even more than Lucas. He is still waiting for that dinner she had promised him!!! He didn't even show her how he felt for so long, respecting her loss. Come on Hallmark writer. Try to be imaginative. the story can be developed in so many interesting ways. I have the feeling that the writer has in mind a relationship between Nathan and the nurse. As if he will create a relationship between two loosers!!!
That would terrible to have Nathan and Faith ! No one needs a rebound ! Plus have some decency and respect that Carson might actually come back ! No they messed up and they should apologize to the fans for putting them.through this !
Let's Nathan, he needs to digest the disappointment to have been rejected. He doesn't need to be "associed" to somebody else. He needs to be focus on Allie's education and his job. I'm unable to wish long life to E/L and to the show.
Nathan deserves the best and it is definetely not Faith. I'm not even sure that he will have a love story,because he will overshaddow L&E,so they will focus on police mission😔.
Nathan is a caring person. Taking the responsibility to take care of his niece shows this. His job is quite demanding and dangerous but he is always there for her. Lucas loves Elizabeth, he use to pamper her. Yet , what about her son? He never played or cared for him. Nathan is a father figure. He was there caring for both and even found the time to play with her son. Being a single mother, I would take that into consideration. Lucas is a serious person. Sometimes, I doubt what his past is. If the story continued, I think Elizabeth would not be that happy as she was in her first marriage. Perhaps, being quite well off must have influenced her. Money is not everything. Why was she so sad when she thought that Nathan was killed?
I have issues with Lucas' character too. What has he done (that Nathan hasn't) to win over Elizabeth? 1, Bought fancy tickets to a V. Woolf reading in which he had no interest at all, haven"t read the 2 books. 2, They share a common interest in literature - but it was his mothers interest, and he happend to be surrounded by books because of his mother, so he read; 3, easy connection to publish her book with the help of his mother; 4, he bought a library building for Elizabeth - which is not hard if he is full of money; 4, he was patient - just as Nathan was, nothing more. These are not heroic acts in my eyes. And no screentime for any interest in baby Jack. Bad, bad writing, bad plot, bad characters, bad decisions. :-(

Yes, I have loved the show from the first episode- but I am a true Nathan fan. I have tried to see the chemistry with Lucas. It is not there. Even the kiss on the bridge. It does not even come close to the hug when she thought he was shot or the Christmas tree scene. I probably won’t watch it anymore, not to protest…..it’s just not there …..Nathan and Elizabeth clicked with intense passion and love on screen, not Lucas …..it seems forced.
I have watched WCTH since the beginning. I loved the pioneer-like saga. It is why I tuned in. It is why I think many tuned in. That and the books kept those viewers coming back time after time and made the series the success that it became. Many of those viewers were happy with the Mountie/Teacher and in no way found it boring or “already done”. Why couldn’t what drew a vast proportion of the viewers be continued as those viewers were remaining faithful to the series? Why couldn’t the writers continue that “feel” of the show for multiple seasons with the continued values of HV which started the show? For example, there have been shows which went on for multiple seasons without changing the “feel”, such as Little House on the Prairie” because it caused people to be able to escape to a period of time different from the one they lived in and enjoy the stories of that period. Having said all of that, there were better ways to convince us of a “Lucas” ending if that is what the producers wanted. For one, after Jack died, a possible love interest who was a Mountie should never have entered the picture. If the decision was made too late then very early in season 8 should have clarified that Nathan would not be the one. What the writers did NOT do was convince most viewers that E and L had “forever” chemistry (or even lasting or enduring love). What they DID do was a good job of convincing most viewers that Nathan and Elizabeth had a mature enduring love in keeping with the “feel” of Hope Valley. No matter how many people say that they could see her and Lucas and if you pay closer attention by going back and looking, you would see it too, well, if I have to look that hard to be convinced, the writers did not do a very good job. Really and truly, I like Chris McNally and I grew to like Lucas. Initially, I was even partial to Lucas, but because of the way the script was written, I grew to see Nathan as the “forever” choice. Because of the writers imparting such value in the interactions of E and N. Only in the last season to do a whiplash style change in direction of the way things were heading and it felt like they were trying to hard to convince us that Lucas was the “forever” one. The finale then, was even worse when “The Kiss” looked more like using lust for love (I don’t mean to sound so Victorian, but really, who have the directors had kissing like that in the history of WCTH?) in order to convince us of this supposedly grand love affair which had languished in the background the previous two seasons. Even when Elizabeth chose Lucas to dance with, she was watching Nathan. Even when she chose to date Lucas in season 8, Elizabeth spent most of her time watching or running after Nathan on one pretense or another, and Lucas spent much of his time watching Nathan and Elizabeth. The Kiss brings me to another observation-It would seam that there are possibly 2 groups (of viewers) when it comes to what is seen as “love” (given that there may be some in between, but they appear to be two main camps). It seems generally the more mature in age and married for years group chose Nathan with the solid loyal character traits who sacrificed for those he loved, raising and adopting Allie, who had really meaningful life interactions with Elizabeth, while having gigantic amounts of chemistry with just a look and he clued her in that this was no playing around with her heart. The group choosing Lucas loved the romance of over the top dates, candles, picnic, wine, and getting a book published for her as well as talking books with her. If in fact this is a younger group, then there may even be a difference in what each is calling chemistry. In the older generation, romance could be conveyed in much less physical interaction than in more modern interactions. Notice that Nathan never had a date or held her hand (except when she forgave him and when she chose his hands at the party) and yet the majority of the fans chose him as her “forever” love and swooned at the chemistry between the two and adored their interactions in one another’s lives. However, a better job of writing would have convinced a majority that Lucas was for her and even though it would change the Mountie/Teacher couple, by the end of Season 8, the Nathan fans would have been convinced that yes, Lucas was “forever”. As it is, the writers had changed Elizabeth character so much this season, and after slowly drawing a picture of Mountie/Teacher joining lives, a sudden about-face happened with unbelievable explanations for it. No other relationship in HV was treated like this. Even with Jack and Elizabeth, you could see that it was to be J and E from a mile away (and not Charles or Billy). As well as with the other couples who ended up together. The writers have lost the trust of their Team Nathan viewers for future storylines. How much will be misdirection or unhappy endings? I have watched show series before and there are times for some of them that I just know this will be my last season. It becomes my jumping off point. Sometimes it just does not hold my interest, and I forget to tune in the next season. In this case, E and L do not hold my interest as a couple. I don’t care as much about the Elizabeth character as I once did (and Elizabeth was one of the main reason I tuned in) and I no longer trust the writers when it comes to the tone of the series. It is not only that Nathan wasn’t chosen by Elizabeth, it is the way it was WRITTEN so that he was not chosen by Elizabeth.

The writers messed up. If you watch last years episodes you saw that the writers were edging towards her being with Nathan. The looks were not just because she was replacing him with jack. She was attracted to him when he wasn’t in uniform. So then they come up with this stupid idea to flip it on us. Well I don’t think it worked out they way they thought. I have seen more angry fans than happy because the end seriously didn’t make sense for people that have watched the story for the past three years.
This was absolutely the worst ending and the deception was a terrible insult to the loyal fans ! There has been a back lash of fans ire and they are disheartened and now have decided to leave the show for good , myself included ! You don't reward this kind of ill treatment !

I agree with you about how S8 should have ended based on S6-8 and am disappointed about the apparent death of a potentially epic romance and blended family storyline. What I can't figure out is why, according to interviews, all the decision-makers were unanimous over who Elizabeth would choose and Erin and Kevin pushed for this ending. Was the last-minute revelation of Elizabeth 'realizing' she was searching for Jack in Nathan their idea and the writers/producers/network went with it?

I know this is only acting however in real life this would have been a story about a woman using one man to get another. Nathan did everything right, Lucas play the jealous role Nathan always took time to greet Baby Jack lucas never did until fans remarked about it you have your season 9 which you will write scenes of lucas spending time with Little Jack . Good luck to the writers you made something ugly out of a good show for 12 esp. and knowing you are going to try to team Faith up with Nathan upsets my stomach. So long guys.
You nailed it...and we should never celebrate that kind of "win" (if you can call Elizabeth's choice a win, or her not being called to account for her actions) because it came at the expense of a good man - Nathan. Acting badly should never be rewarded and applauded. Elizabeth has not learned anything good, only that she can get away with her bad behavior....because don't you know...she was just conflicted that's all. She did not mean any harm. LIES.

The writers chose the end of season by letting Elizabeth tell Nathan she doesn't love him in a cold way. She should have apologized to him for leading him on. If she was confused between Nathan and Jack she should have told him when he said he loved her. She knew exactly what she was doing because she told Lucas what Nathan said But she kept playing him for a fool. I hope when season 9 come back the writers redeem themselves by letting Nathan forget about Elizabeth very quickly and send him and Allie on a vacation to get away from Elizabeth and Lucas. To get renewed and not think about them.

That version of Elizabeth is not someone kind and thoughtful since her " nose has been wide open by the infatuation with the Gambler ! I hope they have Nathan and Allie to leave Hope Valley and relocate in the town where " When Hope Calls " and since he's been there before , maybe he could have a friend in one of the sisters at the orphanage ! That show is similar to how Hope Valley was before Jack died and the gambler came to town ! Elizabeth hasn't been the same since those incidents ! I don't care for her character anymore and after how she crushed Nathan more than once and how she picked a Gambler saloon owner over a noble Mountie !
If Lucas was the ending I don’t understand why they abused Nathan throughout the whole season. That just seemed cruel to me. I would be able to accept her decision easier if they hadn’t been so mean. It just made you want Nathan to win even more. And made you even sadder when she didn’t pick him. Hallmark made an error here. Usually the guy that looses is still treated decently. This did not happened. Even if Nathan ends up with his perfect love, the abuse is not justified. Sad examples of how love should be handled. I had always appreciated had WCTH handled situations and the great examples of how to approach things. Not so much this season.
Team Nathan also. Under his flirtatious air, Lucas does not inspire confidence in me. I think he's not being honest and steeped in shady business and once again Nathan will find out his secret. I hope that Élisabeth will not be fooled a second time by a good talker Who is angry with her fortune. Very disappointed with the choice of Élisabeth and so sad about this season 8, but unfortunately i no longer want to follow season 9. I will move on. To completely forget this series which gave me so much emotion during the diffusion of the preceding seasons. What a shame for the duo Nathan and Elisabeth. They deserve a second chance again
Has anyone thought about this --- Nathan confessed his love for Elizabeth, saying he loved her and was in love with her! I do not recall Lucas ever saying this to Elizabeth! I too, was devastated that the writers strung us along for so long. We had to wait from the end of season 7, when Elizabeth leapt into Nathan’s arms when she realized that he was not dead, until season 8 episode 1, to find that the whole season 8 was just being dragged along so slowly and not getting anywhere fast. WCTH is more like a soap opera now. Maybe, just maybe it will be like one of the night time soaps from years ago, when Bobby from Dallas was not dead after all and the whole season before was a dream! We can only hope that the writers will do the right thing.
I hope they don’t match Nathan with Faith and I hope it wasn’t all a dream like Dallas. Nathan deserves better. Let him grieve and move on with someone better. Elizabeth made her choice, she doesn’t deserve a do-over.
This was a crazy ending. ELISABETH could have been told Nathan she wasn't in love with him the first time he said to her . She kept playing with his emotions and leading him on. The writers used Nathan to come with sick storylines between Lucas and Elizabeth getting together and having a grand kiss. The whole season was about Elizabeth finding love . They didn't give her time to grieve her son just turned a yr. Lucas have not spent anytime with little Jack. Nathan didn't get to go on any date with her when he asked she would come up with an excuse. He never had a chance. I watched all of Nathan's hallmark movies he is just as romantic as Lucas. The writers wrote what they wanted use to see it was all about Elizabeth queen of the show. They didn't have make it all about Elizabeth. Rosemary could have had a baby or Bill being a relationship. Carson and faith relationship didn't end right

Carla, let me express a heartfelt thank you as well for your inspiring and wonderful videos. In the actor interviews, Jack Wagner had a puzzled and shocked look on his face describing the Season 8 episodes. Now we know why. The writers got what they wanted - great ratings. But the reason for those great ratings was the over 70% polling for Nathan. We watched hoping to see a Nathan and Elizabeth endgame. We were betrayed and left with a bitter taste for the WCTH series. I will NOT WATCH a show that gives a pass or rewards people for bad behavior and lack of integrity and personal character. There’s ONLY ONE WAY for the writers to salvage the WCTH Season 8 disaster. After the Season 7 ending embrace of Nathan, Elizabeth was in shock. Carson gave her a sedative. She is ASLEEP, having a NIGHTMARE; and taking us along for the ride. Nightmares are illogical. Season 8 was illogical. How else could you explain Elizabeth’s bizarre, illogical, hypocritical, and self-centered Season 8 behavior? In Season 9 Elizabeth wakes up and we see: 1) Elizabeth and Nathan navigate their budding relationship; 2) the trials & struggles of Hope Valley new & old characters; and 3) Lucas successfully managing his two businesses. However, I do not think this salvage scenario will happen. As one Heartie put it, Elizabeth flirted with and chased Nathan in Season 6 and 7 like a “HEAT SEEKING MISSILE”. For her to try to find Jack in Nathan, or to just now realize Nathan’s job is dangerous is illogical. Every minute of every day the saloon is open, Lucas and the patrons are subject to fist fights, gunshots, hostage situations, stabbings, kidnappings, and robberies. We have seen some of this whereby Nathan came to the rescue and saved both Lucas and Elizabeth. WCTH was a wholesome family show. What we got in Season 8 was giving a pass to bad behavior and bad family character values. Elizabeth was: a) lashing out at her best friend Rosemary, b) not following her own advice that she gave to others, c) publicly accusing and shouting at Nathan, d) demeaning Nathan for not attending a parent-teacher conference, and e) just plain arrogance and cruelty. Lucas falsely accused Nathan of pressuring Elizabeth. He told Elizabeth Nathan did not like crowds at Christmas, when Nathan actually said at Christmas time crowds are nice. Lucas gave Elizabeth Allie’s adoption gift to make himself look good; when he could have given the gift to Nathan. He was always spying on Elizabeth and Nathan when they were talking. There’s something wrong with that type of character. Nathan is a good, honest, helpful, and caring man. He told Lucas he would always have his back. He showed character and class by saying to Lucas not to sell the saloon and not to leave town - as Lucas did after the Season 7 ending embrace. When Lucas can’t get his way, he is the “pick up my toys and go home” type of person. Again, what type of character is this? I have been a fan since Season 1; and I will NOT WATCH a Lucas and Elizabeth phony and forced relationship. Season 9 will not be on my radar. Good Bye When Calls The Heart!

iT'S BEEN since May and my heart still aches that WCTH/HM decided to go with the less hero in L instead of N...They broke the original story between a Mountie and teacher...YOU DON'T CHANGE SOMETHING THAT WORKS...you just don't....there was NOTHING WRONG WITH A MOUNTIE AND A TEACHER..We were robbed of J and E love story after marriage and now we are robbed again of a blended family with a mountie and teacher N and E...will never put my heart out to this show again...just for them to break it in peices...
Thank you for all of your great videos. I am also an NEVER watching WCTH again. This show is going in a totally different direction, and the characters are changing, and more forced.... Elizabeth choosing a man like Lucas, and Bill being forced to "flirt" with that incredibly awkward character Molly. just too weird now. it's not like it was. 8 years leading to this? Bring Abigail back! and make Elizabeth realize she made a huge mistake! thanks!
I know why they choose Lucas. They don't want to replace Jack. Nathan is not Jack. For me it's not wcth anymore. With Nathan wcth would have been magic again. I don't like the new Élisabeth.
Kevin is the one who brings the magic to that show. Elizabeth is absolutely insufferable to watch. She needs a good thrashing...so entitled. So arrogant. So unrepentant of her behavior toward Nathan and Lucas...knowing both of them were jockeying for her affections. Good riddance Elizabeth/Erin Krakow.
@@mariapopovici4467 i would agree in everything except that you can't blame the actors for the decisions made higher up cus apparently, they were working one way and then crown media said it had to end with Lucas just before they filmed the last two episodes. plus Erin Krakow has posted some Team nathan sympathetic posts on her social media. i don't think we should blame her after all if she spoke against the show she could lose her job.
@@jemimapeach483 No, Erin Krakow is one of the executive producers and she has some say and apparently she folded under the pressure. And that is in addition to the lackluster writing talent for season 8. And lastly, if they were pressured by crown media as you say, to choose one way, then they did not have the courage or integrity to stand up to the pressure. That's weak any way you cut it. .
@@mariapopovici4467 weak maybe but they need they money their job pays. i mean you woulden't go to your boss at and say I don't like the decision you've made and I'm not going to do what you've said because by law you had a contract and you have to go with that contract whatever your personal feelings are about it because that is the agreement you made and to quote Nathan talking to Allie "always do what you say you are going to do"
@@jemimapeach483 Then such a person lacks moral courage and integrity...so a person can be bought...just name the price? You're wrong. I would leave such an employer, and in fact I have left such an employer in the past. I did leave a job because of an immoral and dishonest decision on the boss's part and I did not even have a job lined up. Why? Because my integrity cannot be bought for 30 pieces of silver. And no, a contract can be broken if it was carried out in bad faith and this was bad faith all around.
Thank you for honoring Nathan. This was such a wonderful video. YOU know I've heard TL fans all week say that choosing N would of been boring stories, repeat of Jack...etc.etc..but if WCTH had excellent writers they could have wrote an epic love story with E and N..I guess WCTH doesn't have the writers to do it.
Nathan and Elizabeth are well suited to each other and Nathan loves little Jack. Luke owns the tavern not the best environment for little Jack and has not even tried to get to know him.

Nothing to look forward to in the next season. What a waste of my time. I wouldn't be surprised if their rating goes down down down. The worst ending to what could have been one of the best tv series. Not anymore.
I was sad about the ending as well. I don't like how they got Nathan and Elizabeth closer, just to be over in like 2 episodes. I don't like these kinds of twists in moives. I also noticed that they might try and put Nathan and Faith toeghter, but she literally just came out of a long term relationship with Carson. I will proabably continue to watch it for Nathan and Ally's sake to see what happens to them. I appercaite that they don't make Nathan sob for a long time and that he can pick up the pieces for him and Ally. There still would have been a lot of unhappy fans if she ended up with Nathan, but I would of been excited about it, but it was not be so, and that annoys me, because as a viewer I felt it was right for Nathan and Elizabeth to end up together. Team Nathan all the way. If they dare try to bring Elizabeth and Nathan together after a few epsiods, they better do it right, because even though Lacus and Elizabeth have chemistry. I just can't see him as a father firguer, maybe if Elizabeth had no child, it may have played out better, but she has a child and Nathan didn't mind Jack tagging along for their supposed get togethers that never really happened. Hallmark make season 9 worth watching please and make sure Nahan and Ally have a bigger roll in the show. Do not just focus it on Elizabeth and Lucas or that will.drive me mad to an extent and don't drag out story lines either. Season 8 was bad like that. My favorite moments: Ally adoption Nathan's professed love (Lucas still didn't say I love you before the kiss, not cool, why would Elizabeth settle for that) That neat sence in her house with Nathan's surge, love it so much, and it showed something special, only to be ruined by episode 12
I still cannot understand why I am so brokenhearted over the ending. Am I never understand it. But I’ve loved all of your videos during the darkest hours of the pandemic because they kept us hopeful and happy. How can I be a win calls the heart fan when my heart is broken?
