This reminds me of my mum when we have guest around, except she doesn't pull the gun out. Eat, eat eat.

LMFAO, my mum, aunties and a lot of the Indian women I know are always insisting for your to eat more when having a meal! Can really relate to this.

Typical of Asian " hospitality" !!

I was a victim of this during my visit to Little India in Singapore when I had fish-head curry.

Every South Asian family has about a dozen Aunties like this

Lol just like my Mum,"You haven't eaten enough, have some more!"

When guests at a Middle Eastern meal, unfamiliar with the concept of mezzes, stuff their faces thinking it's the actual meal, and then the mounds of rice and meat are brought out. 🤣

A situation you don’t want to be in if you obey table manners -

I think this is a thing most mothers do rather than a cultural thing, both my Mother and my Grandmothers all ask every 5 minutes if I want something to eat and I'm as Caucasian English as they come.

My grand mother used to say"leather can burst/broke,put in as much as you can,". I wish she's still around.
