Lead Belly was so soulful and full of heart. I love the background info he gave on the 16 year old boy and the sweet 16 year old girl. This song is right from my dad's youth. My dad sang this all day long when working on the tractor.
I first heard this song about 1950 by the Weavers. It was my favorite song as a little boy, and it's still a favorite of mine today. My wife & I perform this song on stage. Great song!
